Cannot get OS onto SATA drive

I followed the "HOW TO install RAID/ AHCI 975x PUE Driver Guide" guide above, but still am having no luck. I downloaded and ran the Intel F6 floppy disk utility, made a floppy, ran F6 on install to load the drivers, but upon the 1st reboot, the XP Pro disk starts again and the install starts all over again. If I change the boot order so the hard drive boots 1st, I get a disk read error. My board is a P965 Neo and the drive is a Seagate SATA Barracuda. I have the latest BIOS installed (1.10). I tried to install the Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager, but it said my system did not meet the requirements. My proc is Core 2 duo 6300 Conroe.

Yes, I am referring to the F6-Floppy procedure at the beginning of the setup. There are no special SATA drivers for Intel ICH8 anyway.

The Matrix Storage manager does not Support ICH8 chipset.

Yes, it has nothing to do with your problem.

So the XP Setup is detecting your drive. Maybe integrating the drivers is the cause of your problems.

The Driver package that you have on your floppy disk contains quite a few drivers for different chipsets. Which one did you select? Forcing Windows Setup to use the wrong driver, may cause a corrupt installation.

See if the iPad will accept the password after you restart it. It's worth a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try a reset as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Downloaded TV Programme: Cannot get them onto iPad

I've downloaded a programme series, consisting of 6 episodes. They all show in the TV Programmes section of the iTunes Library, but I cannot get them onto my iPad. I've tried syncing the iPad. I've tried switching it off, then back on. Nothing. No matter what I try, I can't get them onto my iPad.

You are selecting them with checkmarks in the boxes next to their names in the list of TV Shows in iTunes before you sync? The Sync TV Shows heading is selected as well?

What happens when you try to play it in your iTunes library? Does it appear under the audibooks section?
Is your iPod configured to sync audiobooks from under its Audiobooks configuration tab? To find this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This should bring you to the Summary tab. From there, look for the Audibooks tab and make the appropriate configurations to get it over to your iPod.

Cannot get brand new hard drive to work. Disk utility states operation not supported when I try to erase or partition?

Without any success, I cannot get my hard drive to work in disk utilities. I am able to see the disk in the upper left hand column, but when trying to initiliaze the software always reads operation not supported. Any ideas?

You probably have too new a hard disk. Contact the hard disk manufacturer and ask what jumper setting is needed to drop to 1.5 Gbps SATA speed.
Either that, or return the disk, and go to http://www.macsales.com/
They can be sure to equip you with a proper hard disk.

I have an MP4 home vid in itunes. I cannot get it onto my ipad. I tried "create new version" to make it into a format suitable for ipad, but the options were greyed out. Any help appreciated.

I finally today thought I had the answer..........the MP4 file is now in Itunes (I hate itunes, it is so user-unfriendly) and I read that I need to click on it, go to "create new version" and select the ipad version. You can connect the iPhone to any computer to charge it. Just be careful when doing so if the computer has iTunes installed. iTunes may pop up and ask if you want to sync the phone with the computer, which you won't want to do if the computer isn't yours!

Can't load XP onto SATA drive

I have a problem with a new system I am putting together. The MB and HD are new and I do not suspect either of them to be the problem. I formated the HD with Maxtor's program and it seems to go fine. I can load the 6 floppies and start the CD for XP. The HD appears in the boot sequence. I can not find anything in the BIOS that suggests it supports SATA, even though I looked everywere. When I try to load XP it goes OK until it asks where you want to do the installation and at that point it suggests there is no HD. This is the only HD in the system. Any suggestions would be appreciated because MSI support is closed for the weekend and I want to work on this over the weekend.

ensure you have running XP with SP2. and sis chipset drivers are installed.

Thank you for the advice. I attempted this but found that when i selected my ipod from the device list i only had the option to autofill from a certain tab. I tried to use the recently added tab which contained exactly the audiobook and songs i wanted but the shuffle would not accept the audiobook. The itunes warning message claims i am unauthorized for the audiobook on my computer, however, i am signed into my own computer and itunes accounts (on which i purchased the audiobook)...

Cannot get videos onto 60GB Ipod

Simple question, how do I get videos over to my 60GB Ipod? Very simply Itunes does not let me drag videos onto my ipod device, where it's listed on the left side. The videos are converted and in the proper format for the Ipod.
I got it to work once, but I cannot seem to get it to work anymore.
Just got it today, this thing really does not play well with my PC as I've had many problems updating it right out of the box.

I was having trouble adding some videos to my ipod, and they were ones with really long titles and/or other characters in the title.
When I shortened the title, for some reason, they went on right away.
Don't ask me why, I found this out by accident.

I imported my songs from cds and i cannot get them onto my ipod

i got an ipod fo r my brithday, last june! well i have been trying for months to get my songs imported from cds onto my ipod. The thing is i read all of your stuff but things are not happening. Like you guys said "once you plug in your ipod the itunes thing sould pop up" that did not happen. And also there is not a little ipod onn the left hand side next with the libary, podcast, ect. First of all, you are not talking to anyone from Apple here, this is user to user forum.
Second, if you are having problems getting the iPod recognized, start with these troubleshooting articles.
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod.
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes.
iPod does not appear in iTunes.
Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported.
Strange iPod behavior.
Try to restore it in disk mode.

Cannot get past "Prepare Hard Drive(s)"

I'm installing from the 2010.05-core 64 bit iso into a VirtualBox guest.
All went fine when I partitioned the disk with the Auto-Prepare option. However, I didn't like those partitions, so I created a whole new disk and started again.
I then prepared the partition using the manual option. That seemed to go OK. I created all the partitions, wrote them to disk, and quit.
When I got back to the main menu, "Select Source" was highlighted. I tried to move on to "Select Packages", but I got a message that told me I had to do prepare the hard drive first.
When I went into the Prepare-Drive option, I found that my partitions were all there, and it all looked fine.
But no matter what I did, I couldn't get into the "Select Packages" option. It kept telling me that I had to prepare the drive, even though I had.
I thought of modifying the setup script, but it's not so straight-forward.
What's going on? Can I fix this?

well i got a new ipod on warranty and updated it to version 1.2 and Itunes to version 7... anyway... it wont let me manually put music onto the ipod! i drag the music and it says updating while the songs go though.. and i can see the memory used going down... once its finished the used goes back to what it was before!! what the ****! its doing the same on my bro's ipod as well.. he jsut installed to version 2 as well!! can anybody help?
