Cannot get past iPhone registration page when new iPhone 4 is plugged in for Contacts, Music, etc. sync

I just bought an iPhone 4 today and on my first attempt to sync my contacts, music, apps, etc.. it took me to the "Welcome to your new iPhone: Let's get started/ Regestration" page like usual. I selected "register later" and then I am taken to a blank white page the says "iPhone" in the middle in the itunes window. I tried:
ejecting, then plugging in again
selecting register now, and never register
Restarting both computer and phone
Turning off iTunes Helper in Activity Monitor
Turning off iCloud
I am running iTunes 10 nad my iPhone is still on 4.3.3
A couple of days ago I downloaded iOS 5 for my iPhone 3G and the sync prosses was working fine. Now I can't sync up my new iPhone 4, but the phone is still functional. Help!

If you have any podcasts in your iTunes library you should see a Podcasts sync setting tab to the right when you connect your phone and click on its name on the left sidebar (see image below). On this tab check to sync podcasts and sync your phone.

Can't get past the "Registration" page when syncing up nano...Help!

I'm hoping someone can PLEASE help with my problem. I posted in a different forum a week or so ago, but unfortuantely didn't get an answer that worked:
My wife and I have had our iPod nanos (2nd gen) since Christmas 2006. We've been using iTunes since then with no problems.
The basic information:
My computer is a Gateway laptop running Windows XP. It was recently serviced (it needed a new power jack) I am using iTunes 7.0.2.16.
Recently, when syncing up mine or my wife's iPod Nanos (2nd generation)using the USB port, iTunes will reccognize our iPod nanos in the left-hand screen, and it will sync them up...however, on the main screen, it will not get past "Registration" no matter what I do. If I hit "cancel" or "register later" or "never register", nothing at all happens. It just stays on the same page. If I select "register", it will let me fill in all the information, and then gets stuck on that screen. It absolutely refuses to get past registration to the "preferences" screen.
Needless to say, we are unable to select any of our playlists, see how much space we have...do anything, basically. It is super frustrating~!
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful~!!

Hi melbernai - not sure if you've solved this problem yet. I had the exact same problem recently with my 2nd Gen iPod Nano. I solved it yesterday by simply updating iTunes to the most recent version, after which I could get rid of the register screen. The only other thing I needed to do to add my custom playlists was select "Manually manage music" on the screen for my iPod, since it had been in an automatic synching mode since the problem occurred.

Just got a new iPhone from Apple store. Tried to restore from backup, but can't get past the "connect to iTunes" screen on my phone. I can see my phone in iTunes, have synched it to my computer, installed phone updates from my computer, but still can't get past the "connect to ITunes" screen. Cannot get off of registration page

Hello All - When I hook my shuffle to the computer and then click on the shuffles name the registration screen comes up. No matter what I do - hit register later or never register - the screen stays. If I hit register I will sometimes get another screen - I will fill out the information - but then the screen stays the same. The ipod has laready been registered. I just cannoget past this creen - needless to say I cannot tell what is on my ipod or even get to the settings screen to restore it. I need some advice.. Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem with both mine and my wife's iPod Nanos (2nd gen). No matter what I cannot get past that screen, and my nanos have already been registered. It is very frustrating. I've made two posts so far but so far have not found an answer that works yet.

How to get past the Welcome to Your New iPhone Screen?

I recently locked myself out of my iPhone 4S. I decided to backup the phone and try to restore it in order to bypass the lock screen. Now that the iPhone has been wiped, I'm stuck at the Welcome to your new iPhone screen. I have the option to set up as a new iPhone, and restore from backup. After choosing restore from backup, it restores my phone, but the welcome to your new iPhone screen shows up again no matter what I do. Closing iTunes and turning the phone on and off has no results. I currently cannot add new apps, music, movies, anything....via iTunes. Help?

I also had this problem. Read these instructions CAREFULLY before taking action, or everything will be ruined. To get past this screen, select Set Up New iPhone. After that, it will bring you to the iTunes store screen. At the top of the screen there will be a loading bar. At the end of the bar, there should be an x for cancel. Press it, and it will stop iTunes from deleting all of your data. It will no longer bring you back to the welcome screen once you have done this.

Currently cannot get a dial up page when starting firefox to connect to my ISP

My old Firefox program crashed 3 days ago so i did 2 downloads and now i cannot connect to my isp directly from my Firefox icon. In the past all i had to do was click on the firefox icon and i got a dial up prompt and after doing that it went directly to my isp home page. Basically i do not get a dial up page! My isp provider ( copper.net ) has worked on the problem for about 12 hours and has no solution

IMac won't get past the Apple page when turned on...

I just bought a new iMac about a month ago. It is the 21.5" basic system. Of course the first thing that I did with it was update the software and have set it to update automatically, so everything should be golden there... Today when I walked by and turned it on it came on like normal, but that was it. The white screen with the Apple in the middle came on and then the loading icon popped up underneath it. It has been loading since... After about an hour and a half, I shut it off by holding the power button in, unplugged the modem, unplugged the iMac then plugged only the iMac back up. Turned on the power again. It powered up but did the same thing. Is something loading, updates maybe? If so it is something different than any of the other updates it has uploaded so far. THis is a new one on me.
I might add that this is my first Mac. I went with it because I get tired of rebooting my PC each year (I actually just did my PC again...bummer). Now if the iMac has already crashed, I am severely dissapointed in Mac. I have not downloaded anything that I shouldn't have, or anything that was even suspicious. In fact the only real things I have downloaded are Firefox and some of the add ons and a trial version of PS.
Can anyone help me, tell me it is normal and it will be ok?

It sounds like the update may have bee interrupted somehow and became corrupted, possible a power spike at your house. However I wouldn't get too upset. You have 90 days of free telephone support so now is a good time to use it. The number is in your owners manual.
You can also try doing a SMC and PRAM resets, this is probably what Apple will have you do to begin with so you can be pro-active and try them and if they don't fix the problem you can just let the tech know. The instructions for doing each reset are:
_SMC RESET_
• Shut down the computer.
• Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
• Release the power button.
• Attach the computers power cable.
• Press the power button to turn on the computer.
_PRAM RESET_
• Shut down the computer.
• Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
• Turn on the computer.
• Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
• Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
• Release the keys.
Also this is a good time to plug AppleCare. AppleCare will extend your warranty and phone support to 3 years from the date of purchase. If you don't already have it I'd recommend it, Apple charges $169 however you can pick it up from Amazon for less. You can only get it while the machine is covered by it's one year warranty. Let it go 366 days and you're out of luck.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

Final Cut Pro 10.1.3, My Cross Dissolve icon is black, I have tried many option but I cannot get it to function. Do I need another plug in for it to work? Help please.

I am trying to do a very basic cross dissolve in final cut pro 10.1.3. One thing I have noticed is that al a lot of my icons in the transitions sections are black. Is this normal? I can' t find much on this. When I drag the transition onto the clip a message comes up saying, 'There is not enough extra media beyond clip egdes', It asks do I want to over lap to create the transition. I say 'Create Transition', but it doesn't. Any thoughts appreciated.

The dialog is quite normal. It just means what it says, namely, there is not enough extra media at the edges of the clips (so called "handles") to be used for the transition, so FCP X needs to shorten some of those clips to create the handles - thus the total length of your timeline will decrease.
But the fact that the transition appears as black in the browser, and that it is not applied, show that there is definitely something wrong.
Since these default transitions are installed as part of the application itself, I believe the best course of action is to delete FCP X (use FCS Remover to completely remove all traces of the application), and then install afresh from the purchases section of the App Store.

When you see the old number come up in the suggested choices look for a blue arrow to the right of the Contact. Tap the blue arrow and then tap Remove from Recents.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.
