  • 5130 cannot get phone connection, using as modem

Recently purchased 5130 to use as modem for my laptop.  Am using sim card from primary phone to access internet (primary phone has internet service), and connection with USB cable.  Downloaded PC suite, have Vista OS.  Have set specs to phone and internet provider (AT&T) but cannot get connection.  Error display says cannot get phone connection.  Phone works in phone mode, although cannot see contacts.
( I have a new bluetooth USB adaptor, but do not want to open package if I can get cable to work.  No point in opening blue tooth yet as cannot even get phone connection.)
    Any advice?

  • HT1414 cannot get phone signal

    Cannot get phone sinal?

Make sure you put a valid sim card into the phone firstly and if you have, take it out and put it in again.
Other than that you need to contact your carrier regarding phone signals - a signal is the province of the carrier and nobody else.
    Contact your carrier.

Something went wrong with your update; you are in Recovery Mode.

  • I cannot get phone signal when abroad

I have an iPhone 4S and cannot get a signal when out of my home country. Is there a solution for this by changing the phone settings?

Did you enable international use with your carrier before you left? If you did, check Settings>General>Network and make sure that Roaming is turned on.

    Hello reneywacky,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Connect your USB cable to your computer but not to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until step 3.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button down, connect the USB cable to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. When this screen appears, you can release the Home button:
Note: If the image of a battery appears, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again. If you don't see the Connect to iTunes screen, try these steps 1 through 4 again.
iTunes should automatically open and display the following message:
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."Note: If iTunes not open after two minutes, please open iTunes yourself.
Use iTunes to restore the device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • My phone wont recieve calls and its not on do not disturib and not on airplane people tell me its like iv declined there call or blocked them and i checked and i havent blocked anyone please help

my iphone wont recieve calls and i checked and its not in airplne mode and do not disturb is off and people have told me that its like ive declined there calls or blocked them and i checked and have not blocked anyone please help

You ARE roaming.  You turned off your data, but you are still roaming when making calls, and texting.  If you blocked all roaming then you wouldn't be able to make calls/text or receive calls/text.

  • TS5458 I cannot get phone calls on Mac to work

restarted both the mac an iPhone
made sure bother using the same FaceTime and iCloud
turned off handoff and reenabled it
turned off and reenabled FaceTime cellular calling
so far nothing. the only thing that works as advertised is SMS on Mac from my iPhone
    please help.

I have the top-of-the line 2013 MBP w/Retina that I just updated to Yosemite. I also have an iPhone 6+ 128Gb. They won't "handoff" and won't channel phone calls to my MBP like talked about.
I've tried everything I can think of in the changing of the settings but there doesn't seem to be any published list of setting requirements anywhere. It's all been SWAGs.
The two won't even pair over bluetooth.

  • PHONE NOT RECIEVING CALLS

my iphone4 is not receiving calls....help???

Maybe no-one wants to talk to you... Maybe you didn't pay your bill...
Seriously, though. You need to detail what the circumstances are and what you've tried to troubleshoot / resolve the issue.
    Re-boot the phone.
    Restore the phone.
Set up the phone as a new device and do NOT restore your backup.
    Can you place calls?
    Have you contacted your carrier?
Who is your carrier and where did you get the phone?
Has this just started after having it work for a while?
    Is it a new phone?
Did you recently port your number from a different carrier?
We need some real information, otherwise this is like saying "my car won't start, what's wrong?" with absolutely no other information.

  • Cannot get phone numbers in Contacts to format with parenthesis

Why don't my contact phone numbers format correctly with parenthesis?  They just come out in a string of numbers.  I suspect this is causing a failure of my contacts to pop when the phone rings.  I have iCloud turned on, but have never synced it with the Mac because the contact database on the Mac contains different entries that I want to remain separate.

If your are a Verizon user, this should fix it:
Open the phone and dial *228. This is a Verizon over-the-air programming number.
When the system answer press 1 for "Program or activate your phone"
Wait for the call to disconnect. You should get a prompt stating "Settings updated."
Double tap the Home button to bring up the recently used apps list at the bottom.  Locate the Phone, Message, and Contacts apps, swiping if necessary, and press and hold until they jiggle then press the red minus sign to stop them.
    Wait a 3-5 minutes.
Open the Contacts App to see if they're fixed.

  • My iPhone 4 was disconnected during ios 5 update - now i have error -50 showing and cannot get phone back on. Help!

during IOS5 update my phone was disconnected from itunes. i reconnected it and continued the update by clicking 'continue restore'. Itunes is now saying the the phone is updated to version 5 and appears to have fully synced. however, when i turned the phone back on i have the set-up screen and when i select to restore the phone through itunes i get a message with options to 'continue restore' or 'delete backup'. when i select 'continue restore' itunes then gives me an 'error -50' message and just syncs the phone but nothing seems to happen - the phone does not do anything.
Should i delete the back up and start over, or will that delete all my contacts?
    Any help is much appreciated!

    Everything is Sorted!
The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you.

  • Cannot get phone upgrade status

Everytime I try to get upgrade status of my phones online I get a page that says this service is not available at this time. This has been going on for over a month. Can anyone help?

    RANDERSO2 & HelloKitty
As Leiko27 posted, you can dial #UPG to check your upgrade date.
As for trying to verify it via My Verizon online, have you tried to access the page from a different computer? Did it give the same response? Do you have problems accessing any other links/pages on our site?
If so, please PM me and I would be happy to get some details from you in order to get the online portion working for you.

  • Installing new modem and I cannot get phone line to stop flashing

  • Cannot get phone unlocked after successful unlock request from Apple

I continually get "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" after successfully restoring an unlocked iphone4 (even after a restore from recovery mode) Is there any advice out there please?

You use the O2 card to do the unlock.
You only change the SIM card after you get to the Congads..........message.
This is the Process in full.
The process is contact your network supplier .
    Ask IF they offer unlocking.
IF yes request the unlock and pay any fees requested.
Your network supplier then contacts Apple to request the White listing (Unlocking) of your phone on the iTunes servers.
Apple do this -It takes anything from 3 days to several weeks to complete.
On completion Apple confirms this back to your Network supplier (NOT YOU)
Your network supplier contacts you via email or SMS inviting you to connect your iPhone with your computer via the supplied USB cable and launch iTunes and follow on screen prompts through to the "Congratulations your iPhone is now unlocked" screen.
All these steps need to be carried out with the ORIGINAL SIM and by REGISTERED account holder used when setting up the phone.
Once the Congats...... screen has been reached you can swap out the REGISTERED SIM and replace with a compatable SIM on another network.
    CAVEATS
Only the original SIM and Account holder can initiate an unlock- If you bought the phone used/second hand you CAN NOT UNLOCK through official routes
Once unlocked use of a Mobile Virtual Network SIM may result in difficulties sending SMS messages.
You may have to go into Setting /Network/Cellular/Cellular Data Network and enter the correct settings manually.
Further caveat Cellular Data Network menu is SIM card dependant if its not supported you CAN NOT change the settings manually then you may need to contact the SIM card company - They can send a setup SMS if they support this process.
    Sorry for the lecture.
    PRESEE -
ONLY REGISTERED ACCOUNT HOLDER AND SIM CARD CAN BE USED TO UNLOCK THROUGH OFFICAL ROUTES
ANYONE SELLING THEIR IPHONE SHOULD UNLOCK THE DEVICE BEFORE SELLING ON
