Cannot get Tecra 8200 online

Hi, I am a great user of PCs but know nothing about them really, my Husband has bought me a second hand Tecra, which I tried to connect using the new Netgear cable router to my pc, ( I am a NTL user) all systems seem fine and it says its connected, but all that comes up is cannot find server! Im obviously doing something wrong. Is there anything else I need for my Tecra? I have a wireless adapter as well - do I need a wireless LAN card to slot in? Im really confused! To be on the safe side I have had to get someone in to help tomorrow, which Im not best pleased about - I dont really like strangers looking at my PC.lol ! So I need to make sure I have everything ready for when he comes round. Thanks for any advice- greatly appreciated

First of all it will be interesting to know if you have the same problem with other PC connected to your router or just with your Tecra notebook. I presume you use DSL connectivity and you want to connect Tecra to Netgear router.
I hope your router is right configured and set to PPPoE (dynamic connection type) and you do not have fixed IP address. Check please LAN properties and be sure that in TCP/IP properties IP address must be set to Obtain an IP address automatically.
Please check also LAN card status in device manager and be sure LAN card is properly installed, listed and also enabled. Please go into control panel > network connections, click with right mouse button by Local Area Connection and check STATUS. What is shown there?
If you have WLAN card you can also establish WLAN connection but it is other theme.

  • Premier Elements 10 - I cannot get the Share/Online Feature to work

    Brand new install of premier elements 10 on a new PC running Windows 7.
    Everything was working great until it was time to do something with the movie project.   I want to get the movie to YouTube but when I went to Share and then Selected Online - nothing happened.  I can save to computer, DVD, all of the other Share options but nothing happens when I click online.  All of the other choices bring up a new screen with saving details but when I select Online - I don't even get a reaction from the computer.
    I did it once without signing into my Adobe ID but then I signed in and no difference.
    I created my Adobe ID on a different computer using Photoshop but not sure if that is relevant at all or if even the Adobe ID is relevant.
    Any suggestions?
    I know I can save to PC first and then upload (which is what is happening now as I type this) but I would like to remove one step if I can and have it work the way it was designed.

    This is probably due to the setting in PrE for Online Sharing, and your YouTube account. I would check the info for each very closely, to make sure that everything is set up properly. Also, from time to time, YouTube has made major changes in their accounts (not that long ago, they decided to go through a department of Google - not sure if they still do), and if you're on, say an extended YouTube account, then it might be that PrE has not yet caught up to those. Do not know if PrE 10 still has the old 10 min. limit, but that was the case, until YouTube started offering extended accounts.

    it's usually tied to your email account ID.  Is your email different than your ID that you use to pay your bill?

    I recently changed my apple id to a new email at the same time getting a new Iphone 5.  I cannot get all my devices back online with icloud since.  It is still showing my old email even though I changed it and logged in under the new one.  My icloud information is grayed out for the apple id.

    You need to sign out completely in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud and then sign back in again with the new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear when you sign out but will reappear when you sign back in (may take a bit of time).

  • Using my iMac to fill in forms online, the screen suddenly fades off to the side and I cannot get it back.  so frustrating!!

    While online at a web site, filling in important forms, the screen suddenly fades to one side and disappears, and I cannot get it back, forcing me to start all over again.  How can I stop this from happening?

    The entire web screen of the form page I am filling out slides to the right and disappears, seemingly under a previous form that was not yet filled out, but I can't find it to retrieve it.  I suspect this wireless mouse might be causing it?  In general I find going back to a previous web page to be very awkward compared to windows.  I always get this message, do you want to submit this form again?  In windows, I could use a pull down arrow from my browser bar to locate a previous page.  Maybe Mac isn't for me.

    In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
    Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

  • Cannot get online with netbook

    We upgraded to Infinity but now I cannot get online on my netbook. The icon and wireless connection panel indicate I am connected by when I launch my browser (IE) it says unable to display webpage. My husband managed to get online by using Openzone but this is not very satisfactory when we are paying for Infinity. Our OS is Windows XP.

    It's good you've got on line with Openzone, I presume from your own signal... checks that wireless connectivity is working between your Netbook and HH3.
    If you go to your HH3 you can pull out a useful plastic card/tab which has your wireless code on it.
    Then with your Netbook click on your wireless icon... probably bottom right and click on your wireless name.
    This should say something like connect, enter in the wireless key exactly as shown on your tab/hub settings card.
    And it should connect.
    I removed the BT Help Desk software off my XP PC as it caused connection problems... kept saying connection failure did I want it fixed... say yes and click on the picture of the HH I was using then it went and connected.
    I didn't have this problem on any of my other machines so as this XP PC was the only one with the BT software I removed it as it is uneccessary and the problem never re-occured.
    A useful wireless scanner that's free http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ will show your home signals and 
    can help identify a clear or least used channel you can moved your HH3 from it's Automatic setting to this least congested channel.

    Mine is around 40 to 50,  a picture in my post HERE showing my signal is the strongest and my neigbours which is on a nearby channel is weaker.... If it was the same signal strength I would move my HH3 wireless setting off the Automatic setting and set it to a clearer channel. 
    Let us know how you get on... I'm using a Win 7 laptop but have the PC running win XP upstairs and could go thru the exact log in process if you still have probs.

    That's because the BBC iPlayer app uses basic AirPlay to show the content, this means the original content is sent to the Apple TV for it to decode rather than mirroring the screen of the iPad where the subtitles are added.

    Where was it On Line ?
    So your iPhone is on a Wifi network ?
    You have gone to Settings > Messages and Enabled Messages.
    You cannot then send iMessages  from your iPhone Number ?
    You should be able to sent to other iOS devices that are using other iPhone Numbers or Apple IDs or to Macs that are running Messages with the iMessages account enabled and those may also be using iPhone Numbers or Apple IDs depending how they were set up.
    On the iPhone in Settings > Messages you can then add an Apple ID
    You can then chose to Send from the Apple ID or iPhone number as the Start from option.
    Adding the Apple ID links the Apple ID and iPhone Number and if you have a Mac, and are running Messages with the same ID, they will sync (Display on all Devices) all the subsequent iMessages you receive.
