Cannot get to main menu.

Cannot get to main menu. Opens on the music menu (songs, albums, etc.) Can't get to settings, books, etc. I tried resetting by holding down the menu and main circle buttons, but come to the same place. I downloaded a book for the first time and it shows on the device in iTunes but I can't get to it on the iPod.

Would you like to tell us how you solved this?
I'm curious.

A bit of repetition, mainly for the benefit of anyone else with the same issue. In your case the "for older video cards" version might be worth a try.
When cleaning folders you need to check both the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders, which you may well have done but didn't mention in the detail above.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

It is an eMac. I have a corrupted font book. How can I fix/re-install/or download a new font book app? Most fonts that were in it work, some do not, but I cannot open it nor can I install fonts into it. This happened after the eMac OS was upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11 and AI was upgraded to CS2

Cannot get to the menu to deauthorize old computers on my I tunes account

Did not deauthorize an old computer and reached the 5 computer liom it. Trying to sync an I phone on a new computer and first deauthorize all old computers. I followed the instructions to click on the I tunes store menu and login to my account and click again on my account, but I cannot get to the menu to deauthorize old computers on my I tunes account.

Did you follow these instructions? Go to the iTunes Store>click your email address at the top right>enter your password and proceed to Account Information>press the Deauthorize All button.

IPhone freezes - when on a call, I can't get to main menu.

When I receive a call and answer it, after the screen goes black(still on the call).. I cannot access the main menu when I hit the home button. So if another call comes in, I can't see it on the phone. Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so how did you fix it?
This has been happening since day 1, I have tried resetting the settings, the only thing I have not done is do a complete restore. I had this issue before the 3.0 upgrade ad after.

Trying to get gnome-main-menu-svn (SLAB) installed from AUR

Having soem troubles installing gnome-main-menu-svn (SLAB) installed from the AUR using yaourt. After getting all the dependencies figured out, there still seems to be problems.
Here is what I have so far:

current revision (451) doesn't work with networkmanager 0.6.6 from extra. Revision 401 from http://svn.gnome.org/svn/gnome-main-menu/branches/gnome-2-22/ works for now.

I ran yaourt as root to install gnome-main-menu-svn, and it got past that part. Looks like that was a problem with permissions that also needs to be fixed.
Now its telling me that I don't have a high enough version of libnm-glib, it is asking for >= 0.7.0, and I have 0.6.6. I checked the the repos and there does not seem to be a 0.7.0 version or higher available. A suggestion on the gnome-main-menu-svn package page makes a suggestion, but Im not sure how to go about it

Also had to do yaourt as root to get that far. Why is it that when you use yaourt as root, it advises you to switch to a normal user, and then the packages will not install correctly unless you do?

The html validates as HTML5 and the css as Level 2, 2.1 or 3. It also functions as expected in all browsers (even IE7, 8 and 9 in Dev Tools). I'm sorry, but from everything I've seen and tested, it's perfectly valid and functional to use position:absolute with an <iframe>.

I think javascript is not working. At least that is what it says on youtube. I cannot get any dropdown menu's in gmail either. I made sure the "enable javascript" is checked in the content tab. Just stopped working.

I cannot do anything in my gmail account, such as reply, forward or get any drop down menu to work.
When I go to youtube it says that either I do not have javascript or it is not enabled. I checked and the box says it is enabled.

They certainly don't care about AppleTV 1 anymore.
I'm honestly not sure what's causing your issue here, but I have numerous AppleTV1s and newer ones and I've not yet run into issues with getting AppleTV 1 syncing but I've seen many posts where for some reason current iTunes seems to flip to regarding the connection as sharing only. Sadly I think it's only a matter of time before they drop support in itunes for AppleTV 1 altogether so keep an old itunes backup or two.
Can you try hooking up the AppleTV to the imac directly via ethernet to see if it'll recognise it - appreciate you would somehow also need to view AppleTv1 output to get that onscreen code.
I think I would also reinstall iTunes and as noted earlier try another account.

Cannot get to startup menu options

Hi there,
I bought a used HP Pavilion g6 series notebook, but turned out that it has a password, so I created a CD to overpass it, the thing is that cd is not stating by it self on startup, so I tried to go through the startup menu and change Boot device options, and here was the problem !! I have to press F9 to Access it but its not working , I tried all other options on the startup menu but nothing is working. What can I do !! pls help, I'm not an expert and don't understand big words, so pls take it easy on me when you answer : ) .

My menu button has started acting as the play button therefore I cannot get to the menu screen.

You have to send it in for repairs if you can't Reset it by
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you can see any Red mark.
Pressing Menu and Center Button together at the same time for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON.

Cannot get a menu screen on appletv box

I Have an apple3 tv box. Hooked it up last night and it worked fine. Today when I turn the box on the only screen that comes up is a picture of the back of the apple box and a USB cable. I cannot get to a menu screen. I have rebooted everything several times.

Scrolling Main Menu Without Exiting Current Application

The problem I'm facing is that i cannot scroll the main menu without exiting any current application. For instance if I'm logged on to Skype i cannot do anything else till i don't exit out of it. In that case i've get signed out of it. So is the case with many other applications.. If any solution please let me know. Thanks

This is how the iPhone works. Only one app can be open at a time. You cannot leave one to go to another without closing it.

My iPod mini has locked up...I cannot get in to turn off the "find my iPad" so I cannot utilize the recover. In addition the clear button at the bottom of the unit no longer works...what can I do?

You may need to restore from the cloud as so far the only way to unlock is to remove from your iCloud and erase the device. There has to be a better way.
There is a ton of info on finding an iPhone with iCloud.   Where is the info on getting it working again after it is recovered?
