Cannot hear USB microphone in headphone

I'm using the Logitech USB microphone which works fine for Skype and quicktime recordings. The problem is that I cannot hear the microphone in my headphones which makes it difficult to monitor the recording. The input volume level is working in System Prefs but I cannot hear the sound from the microphone. I also cannot record my side of Skype conversations with Wire Tap Pro since I cannot hear the audio from the USB microphone on the iMac. Any ideas?

  • I cannot hear music through my headphones ?

Ever since i downloaded Itunes I cannot hear my music through my headphones only speakers and all my audio i download or add to my laptop goes through Itunes what do I do ????

The first things to try are these basic troubleshooting steps.
    The Five Rs.
If they don't help, it's likely to be an issue that means the iPod needs repair.
    Is it still under warranty?

  • I can't seem to monitor my USB Microphone using Logic X Pro on my macbook. I have a USB Microphone (without headphone slot built in) and would like to be able to monitor my microphone whilst I'm in Logic.

I have set my Input as the usb microphone, and have tried the output as Built in output & system settings but no luck! I need to be able to monitor while using my microphone. It sounds so simple, it can't be this complicated?

  • USB Microphone disables headphones

Anyone else noticed a similar problem?
I am connecting a USB mic via the camera connection kit.
The mic seems to work fine as Garargeband records the audio from the mic using the Audio Recorder.
However, if I plug headphones in as well - which would be normal if you want to record a voice track - then the headphones don't seem to work, so you can't monitor the track as you record.
If I unplug the USB mic, then the headphones work. So it isn't a problem with the headphones.  And I can record using the built-in mic and monitor as I record
But it seems that I can't use a USB mic and headphones at the same time.
    Any reason why?
I can only think that the iPad seems to think my USB mic is also a playback device as well as recording. i.e. it thinks it is a set of USB headphones or speakers, and so routes the audio output to the mic.

I am having a similar problem. One thing I noticed is that when it does not work, I am given an option for channel selection in the input settings dialing - left, right, stereo. Intermittently my mic (Blue Yeti connected through apple camera kit and powered Belkin USB hub) works fine - for about a week it worked great, then intermittently for a few days, now not at all. When it does work, no channel settings are presented in the input settings screen.
Ive tried rebooting, using different USB ports, different settings on the mic, but no luck.
    This is stifling my creativity...

  • Ipod Nano 2Gb Plays music but I cannot hear it through any headphone jacks!

    Thanks again!

If none of the above help, then it's probably a service issue.
You can arrange online service here.

Or if an Apple store or Apple authorized service agent is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • Cannot hear line

I'm using Windows Vista and have installed my USB SOund Blaster Li've! External. All works fine except the recording.
I have a cassette deck linked in via the Line In. I cannot hear it but checking the Recording Tab on Sound in the COntrol Panel shows the fading moving with the music. How can I get to hear this?
Any help would be really appreciated!

"What U Hear" doesn't seem to be an option under recording for me. Line-in is not muted.
Also when I try to select EAX or Speakers to set my preferences, I get an error:
"The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit."
I can now see that the device is recognizing the music coming from my stereo, but I still cannot hear it in my headphones (I've tried three different sets of headphones). I can, however, hear all of my computer sounds and can also listen to music using my Windows Media Player ().
It's frustrating because I've owned this type of Soundblaster (SB0490) before and never had a problem.

  • Cannot hear any sound

My repo wirless sound system is installed correctly but I cannot hear sound in my headphone.

    Hi Myway1,
Technical Preview should work with the same devices and programs that work with Windows 8.1. Make sure you get an appropriate driver for your device.
Please check if you can see this device is installed in device manager.
You can give us the brand of your device, I would help to check if there are suitable driver for current OS.

  • I cannot hear sound through my iMac Headphone port,

I cannot hear sound through my iMac Headphone port, this is a very new computer. I can hear sound through the usb port of the device. How can this be fixed? Headphones are selected as an Output device.
Please help in any way possible, it is becoming quite a concern as it was just working a matter of hours ago.

usb does not carry audio at all it's a serial digital bus
things one connect to usb which play audio act the role of being usb audio cards only 1 audio card can be active at the time so if you connect an usb audio card the internal audio card is muted
this cause your headset to be muted
disconnect the usb audio card and you will be able to use your headset
if you wish to use a headset an an usb audio card at the same time the headset needs to be connected to the usb audio card

  • Using Garageband and I cannot hear previously recorded tracks on headphones.  Prefs are set to output on EMU0404 my audio device - this did work but now is not working.

I am using Garageband and I cannot hear the previously recorded tracks on my headphones.  I am using an audio input/output device, EMU0404 - this was previously working fine but stopped.  All cables check out OK and so does the unit - I have updated to the latest version of Garageband but this did not help.  Any suggestion?

    Hi Christoph,
I cannot see anything wrong with the EMU0404.  This is what puzzels me ... Garageband looks OK - headphones are OK - EMU looks OK.
    Thanks anyway

is your mute switch turned on (above the volume) ?  remove case and screen protecter.
    is volume turned up?

  • I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? Any ideas :)

I cannot hear any songs or movies from my laptop speakers - the headphone port works and a red light is showing from the port? The output sound settings are showing as digital optical only? I used the headphones in the laptop for the first time yesterday and have had this problem ever since. Any ideas

The internal switch in the audio output port is stuck.  Try inserting the earphone plug a few times.  If no success, try jiggling a tooth pick inside in order to trip the switch.. If still no success, have the technicians at the Apple store genius bar do it for you.
    Ciao.
