Cannot IM with photo attached iPhone 4

Hello...
I have iPhone 4 with latest updates. In fact, just did a Restore just for drill.
Thing is, I cannot include a photo in an IM. Not from my phone's "camera roll" or one I take at the time.
I get the "exclamation point" next to it and the "try again" error message. I get this both with WiFi and 3G
Can someone help me out on this? Could it be a setting in the background I have turned off in error?

I "turned off and then turned on the MMS" function. Also reset Network settings.

Hidden Photo attaching to ALL emails end with photos attached

Hi. Every time I send an email with photos attached, an additional photo (always the same one) always attaches itself, too. You cannot see it as an attachment at the bottom of the email, however, when the recipient opens the pictures and clicks to view the next photo, etc., this one particular photo always shows up at the end. I can no longer send business related photos, because this personal family photo always attaches itself. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Can you see this hidden photo in the catalog? Try attaching a tag to this photo and a different tag(Tag2) to the photos you want to send. Search for the 2nd tag(tag 2) and when the results are displayed, select all these photos and send an email to yourself to see if the hidden photo is still getting attached. This should not be happening but please see if the above steps make any difference.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

Help< I opened an email with photo attachements and it is taking all day to download, I cant delete it, it just stops mail from working. Everything else was fine till i thought turning off the ipad and trying again would work. It didn`t, I cant turn it on at all - itjust shows the spinning wheel (loading?) icon and nothing else. Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Cannot see my photos in iPhone after upgrading OS

I upgraded 11/20/13 to the latest iPhone OS and now having problems with the photos in my iPhone. I can see the thumbnails just fine, but then I touch one of the photos in thumbnails and the phone just shows a blank white screen. I cannot view the photo. BUT when I see only the blank, I touch EDIT and the photo shows up. I have to rotate it and SAVE and then the photo can be seen. But then I have to rotate it 3 more times to get it back to its original orientation and SAVE to have the photo now visible. This is now the second time something bizzare like this has happened in the last 2 upgrades of iOS. Frustrating.

No idea of why. The ONLY solution I know when you select a photo in thumbnails and the photo then shows up white is to do the following. Select EDIT then the photo "magically" appears. Then rotate it and SAVE it. But--here's where it gets clunky--you must rotate less than a full rotation and save it and then go to EDIT again and then do a final photo rotation to get the photo back to its regular orientation. But once you've done that for EVERY such photo, the photos show up as expected. Sorry that there's no more simple solution that I know of.

Problems with photos attached to a mail

Normally a photo attached to a mail arrives at the addressee as a separate file which can be detached and stored separately.
Since a couple of days it does not work this way, when I use the Apple mail program to send messages from my iMac (OSX 10.5.3). Now they are embedded into the mail as very large pictures. I think there must be something wrong with the settings of mail.
Does anybody know what I can do in order to get back the "normal" state?

nochmals danke für den Tip. Es hat funktioniert. Aber normal ist das nicht. Ich vermute der Bug ist hineinoperiert worden beim Fixing eines anderen Bugs, auf den ich schon vor über einem halben Jahr in diesem Forum aufmerksam machte: seit 10.5.1 oder 10.5.2 (die kamen ja beide sehr schnell hintereinander) konnte man nicht mehr zeitgesteuert (aus den Systemeinstellungen, Energie sparen) den Ruhezustand der Festplatte anfahren. Ich habe elend lange herumexperimentiert, um herauszufinden, ob der Fehler eventuell bei meinen Macs lag. Die Ratschläge, die ich aus dem Forum bekam, waren allesamt Blödsinn. Und Apple sitzt offenbar auf einem so hohen Ross, dass die es nicht für nötig hielten, auf meinen Hilferuf im Forum zu reagieren. Gelesen hat es wohl doch einer von denen, denn als ich im Zuge dieses Schriftverkehrs aus meinem Unmut heraus eine entsprechende Bemerkung loließ, war da sofort einer, dem der Schuh offenbar passte. Der fühlte sich nämlich befleißigt, mich darüber aufzuklären, dass das Forum der Hilfe von User zu User diene und die Apple-Leute in der Regel die Beiträge nicht lesen würden. Zum Abschluss des Posts (mit 10.5.3 war der Bug nämlich behoben, und in einer Notiz im Kleingedruckten vor dem Herunterladen des updates stand ein Hinweis, dass ein Fehler im Mailprogramm daran schuld war) habe ich dann nochmal einen Hieb auf Apple ausgeteilt, und gleich war der selbe zur Stelle, um sein Statement (s. oben) zu wiederholen.
Es wäre doch schön, wenn die mal zugeben könnten, dass hier ein Fehler von Apple vorlag, bevor man wie doof im eigenen Kram nach möglichen Fehlern sucht.
Eine Hotline zur Meldung von Bugs habe ich bei Apple bisher vergeblich gesucht.
Sogar Microsoft hat so was...
(Hoffentlich hat das jetzt auch einer von denen gelesen - und verstanden!)

Cannot send mail with photo attachment

I took a photo with the iphone camera and tried to send to someone with email. The email does not appear in drafts and there is not an outbox. The iphone says sending message 1 but is not sending. How can I delete the email and how is this happening?

There could be an error in the mail app contacting your outgoing SMTP. You can force close the mail app, hold the power button down until you see the slider bar, then press the home button, until you return to the home screen. I've read where people are then putting the iPhone in airplane mode, entering the mail application and you should find the offending mail. You can delete it then.
Another option I've used when I've had a problem is to reboot the phone, Home and power button until you see the Apple logo. Once the iPhone reboots, enter the mail app and the mail usually will send. You shouldn't need to worry about the photo, since it is in the camera roll.

Help with photos. iPhone - iCloud - iPhoto - Email ?????

I'm a new mac user. I switched over from Windows. The process of obtaining photos from iCloud on my iMac seems like a big hassle. So inconvenient I can't believe anyone would actually design it this way so maybe I'm just ignorant.
I take a photo with my iPhone.
The photo is uploaded through iCloud and appears in my iPhoto on my iMac.
Now I want to attach the photo to an email in the included mail program.
When I browse for the photo to attach, I look in "Photos" but iPhoto is grayed out. Why?
So what I've been doing is saving the picture to my desktop then attaching it that way.
This seems like a REALLY stupid extra step. What am I doing wrong here?

Is this where you're seeing the grayed out iPhoto in Mail?
Or are you trying to use the Attach button to add a photo?
If the photo is in your iPhoto Library on your Mac then you can select it and click on the Share button at the bottom right of iPhoto
and then on the Mail button in the next window:
and add it to a new email that way.

All pictures in Photos on Mac syncing with Photos on iPhone and taking up too much space

Since I downloaded Photos on my MacBook Pro, all the pictures that I had in iPhotos are not showing up on Photos on my laptop AND my iPhone. I used to be able to choose which iPhoto albums to sync with my iPhone and would prefer to do that again. It is taking up way too much space to have them all synced to my phone. Any idea how to choose which pictures I want available on my phone???

Before the migration to Photos on laptop, I would go to iTunes, Photos, Sync Photos, Selected Albums, and then choose the albums from iPhoto to sync to phone.
Since I had the problem with all of the photos syncing to iPhone, I un-checked Sync, but they were all still showing up on iPhone.
I just looked at iTunes and saw this message:
When I looked last week, the "copy from _______" was not an option. Now I am able to choose the iPhoto albums that I want to sync just as I was before.
I still don't know why they were syncing when I didn't have that option selected, but it appears Apple has fixed the issue I was having.
I guess I will continue to use iPhoto rather than Photos on my laptop to avoid this issue again.

Background creation with photo attached of examples. Need advice!

I have been trying to figure this out for the life of me and have come to a road block with it. I have seen it done on numerous occasions by one person who states they are doing it in Elements, but will not give me an answer as to how they are doing it. I am very comfortable with PS CS6 and am by no means a novice with it. I consider myself at least at the intermediate or above level with PS. What I am trying to do is extend my backgrounds without stretching them and having them looked like they have been stretched. If you understand what I am getting at. The photos below represent what I am talking about. The first image is the original image 1024 x 768 and the second image 744 x 1392 is the image that was created from the first image. The background in the second image was created from the first image and for the life of me I have been unable to figure out how. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Trouble with photos on Iphone 4

When I take a photo on my ipad it goes to my iphone, but if I take a photo with my iphone, it goes nowhere. It used to go to my ipad, but hasn't for a while. What am I doing wrong. The photostream settings are identical on both devices. Any suggestions?

Cannot import camera photos from iPhone

I have taken a few photos with the iPhone camera. When I connect it to my MacBook and launch iPhoto, it goes into import mode, but only shows three white rectangles where the photos should be. After "Import All", iPhoto says:
*Unreadable files: 3 -- the following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).*
Even when I go to the iPhone and delete all camera roll photos, the above error still shows up. Image Capture also fails to import and/or delete these "unreadable files". New pictures show up on the iPhone camera roll, but not on iPhoto or Image Capture -- I always get these three files.
As a consequence, I can no longer download any picture I took with the iPhone. Any suggestions?

Since photos captured by your iPhone are included with your iPhone's backup, I suggest restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
This will lose your iPhone settings, but I know of no other way to resolve this problem.
