Cannot import .flv movies that were converted into .mp4?

They are .MP4 and Imovie's site supports them?

So what happens? Imports but doesn't play? No sound or no video? Error message? Does Quicktime play the clips?
.mp4 files are MPEG-4 encoded, and iMovie and Quicktime in general can play such files. However, the MPEG-4 standard has different parts, and not all applications support the same parts. There might be some export options that you could play with when converting, or you could try to load it into another program on the Mac, like VisualHub or MPEG Streamclip, and re-export in a different way.

  • How can I import home movies that were transferred to DVD into IM ?

I had a service transfer old Super 8 and Reg 8 to DVD for me, and I transferred some old VHS home movies to DVD on a Pioneer DVD recorder. I would like to get these into IMovie to do some basic editing add titles and a soundtrack. (I just made the big jump from PC to Mac 2 weeks ago) I would greatly appreciate any input!

  • How do I view .3gp movies that were converted to .mov

A family member used his iPhone to tape a graduation for us.  He sent it via yahoo messenger.  I downloaded the four separate files and the file extension are .mov.  The problem is that i've used all types of decoders and players to view the files and they are all failing.
I've used VLC Player and it didn't work.
I tried to use iSkysoft Converter to change it from .3gp to any other format...it failed.
I tried to use videospec to analyze the type of file it is and it failed to recognize the type of file.
I tried to use Anyvideoconverter HD, to try to convert it to another video format....it failed.
I have perian and wmv player for quicktime.  Using QuickTime.....it failed.
    Using QuickTime 7......it failed.
I tried using parralels but for some reason my parralels asked me for my code again and I lost it.  So now I can't use parralels.
    Please Help........

Use the free app 'Handbrake' to convert it to something like .avi and play in VLC.

    Hi, BartleyBauer.
If the media that you are attempting to sync plays in iTunes, try removing the preference to sync music as this remove the media from the device.  Once this is done, try syncing the media again.

  • Cannot import iphone movies into lightroom 3

I am unable to import movies made by an iphone 4s into Lightroom 3.6 running on a macbook pro (OS X 10.8.3). The still images are imported fine via the import function of Lightroom. The import page shows the movies, tries to import them but than hangs (even on very small files of80mb)
With ImageCapture from Apple I am able to transfer the files form the iphone onto the macbook. So the problem lies not in transferring te files from the iphone. Importing the movies from the harddisk into lightroom doesn't work either.
    Help would be greatly appreciated

  • HT3529 SMS sent to multiple contacts were converted into mms.

SMS sent to multiple contacts were converted into mms, text only 61 characters long including spaces. Carrier O2 have said it is an known issue with apple products. This has cost me £50 to say happy new year to my family and friends. Anyone know of this issue with iPhone. Called into apple store who were unaware of this? Everyone blaming each other as usual! Can't see in term and conditions for O2 or apple that this would happen. The message is stored on the phone as a text message! Thanks

Thanks Tim, apple say the same thing, carrier's method of handling multiple SMS creates this issue, can't see anywhere which alerts the customer to this on terms and conditions so back to O2 it is then!

I too have the same problem.  The audio drop out of sync in about 5 sec in not uncommon for the audio to be 30+ sec behind video.  Apple needs to fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   its a joke,  my iphone is all messed up after the last update as well.  at one time not to long ago apple products and software were top rated, not so much any more, more and more problems are showing up and apple is unwilling or unalbe to fix the many issues.  Apple needs to fix the audio sync problem, it not the computer hardware or other software it ITUNES!!!!,  there is no workaround other then hitting pause and hitting pause and hitting pause to temp fix the problem.

  • Cannot import voice over from garage band into FCP-X

cannot import voice over from garage band into FCP-X

    Try:
Share > Send Song to iTunes. In the dialog, turn OFF compress. That will create an .aiff version of your GB project.
Alternately, you can Share to iTunes. When iTunes opens, right click on the selection and select Create AIFF version.
When iTunes opens, right click on the selection and select Show In Finder -> drag it out to a more convenient location (or option-click-drag to make a duplicate in the new location you drag to.)
    Import that file into FCPX.

  • I cannot import photos from my camera card into light room 5v or photoshop

i cannot import photos from my camera card into light room 5 or photoshop

Launch Lightroom and from the menu go to:
Lightroom >> Preferences >> general (tab)
Ensure there is a checkmark in the box “show import dialog when a memory card is detected”
Then quit Lightroom and insert the card again. Does LR launch ready for import?
If not, check that your card is mounted. You should see an icon on the desktop.
Launch Lightroom and click the import button (bottom left)
Expand the tree in the left-hand column of the import dialog e.g. from Mac HD >> Users….down to desktop.
    Highlight your card.
Choose “Copy” at the top and either a named folder on the right or automatic dated folders.
    Then start the import.

  • I cannot import photos from my camera card into light room 5 or photoshop

I cannot import photos from my camera card into light room 5 or photoshop

There is no "into". LR and PS just reference your photos on the hard drive.
When you import your photos "into" the LR catalog, LR can copy the images off your memory cards to the hard drive if you have not already copied them, but the photos are referenced by the LR catalog by the path and filename for the files.
If you are having problems getting the images off the cards, what steps are you using and what error messages are you getting?

  • I bought a new iphone and want to import my photos that were on my other phone

I bought a new iphone and want to import my photos that were on my old iphone; hoping they are on the icloud somewhere

I am assuming that if it was done at the Verizon store that it was an iCloud backup.
On the phone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
When the phone reboots it will be back to factory. Go through the setup and when it asks if you want to setup as a new phone or from a backup, choose to restore from iCloud Backup.
The screen will look like this:
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
If you are not sure if it is backed up and you have anything worth while on there now then you should backup before you start.

  • OK , I have my instructional coaches creating power point presentation add audio to each slide with the presenter 10 add ins. I need these presentation converted into MP4 like you can do with adobe presenter video creator.

Love the Adobe products first. OK , I have my instructional coaches creating power point presentation add audio to each slide with the presenter 10 add ins. I need these presentation converted into MP4 like you can do with adobe presenter video creator.

If you import the PPT deck into Captivate it will not bring the audio from Presenter. But you can import it into Captivate after the slide deck has been imported. The audio files aren't necessarily named in a logical fashion in the source files for the presentation, so I would recommend that you publish the presentation locally and then find the 'data' folder in the published output and the audio files will be named in a way that you can infer the slide they are associated with. Not the simplest proceedure but it should be pretty painless.

  • Cannot import specific MOV file into iMovie. HELP please!

I have been using iMovie for many years and am not a novice.
For some reason, I have a specific MOV file that I cannot import into iMovie 10.0.5.  When I try to import the file, I get an error message:
"No Importable Files: None of the selected files or folders can be imported"
The file is NOT corrupt and plays perfectly in QuickTime. Interestingly, when I try to import the movie in iMovie, it shows 0.0 sec duration, even though it load/plays perfectly in iMovie with a duration of 54:45.  See file A1 below:
I even tried converting the file to M4V in Quicktime, but iMovie would still not import the new M4V file.
Any suggestions?  This is an important Movie, I cannot re-record it, and I need to edit it in iMovie.
    Thanks in advance!

I copied it below.  I would appreciate any suggestions!
