    Try:
Share > Send Song to iTunes. In the dialog, turn OFF compress. That will create an .aiff version of your GB project.
Alternately, you can Share to iTunes. When iTunes opens, right click on the selection and select Create AIFF version.
When iTunes opens, right click on the selection and select Show In Finder -> drag it out to a more convenient location (or option-click-drag to make a duplicate in the new location you drag to.)
    Import that file into FCPX.

  • Why can I not import aif files to garage band?

Once I have created an aiff file in iTunes, why can I not import those files into Garage Band?  I'd like to be able to edit some of those files.

I go to garage band and click on create a new project, then browse through the finder and files I want to import are all grayed out -- aiff AND wav files.
You first need to create a new project  - in the "new Project panel" select a template (Guitar, piano, ...), not "Open an existing file".
When the project window opens, drag your aiff or wav file onto an empty space in the Timeline, or open the Media Browser from the footer bar in GarageBand and import an aiff song from your iTunes Library.

  • Importing vinvl albums via garage band have to import tunes individually .tunes willnot recombine into one album. I understand that it is because data available on cd's is not present on vinyl..any clues on how to fix this?

importing vinyl albums via garage  band. Have to import tunes individually as tunes will not retain individusl otherwise.  trouble is they will not rejoin as one album in iTunes.I understand it is because data available on cd's is not on vinyl imports . Any clues on how to fix this?

"Have to import tunes individually as tunes will not retain individusl otherwise."  -- I don't understand this sentence.
iTunes will not assign track names to items imported from vinyl.  You will have to label the files yourself in the Get Info window.  As long as you give all the tracks on an album the same album information and the same artist information they should group together.  if the artists differ then you need to give all the tracks one common album artist (often "Various Artists")in addition to individual track artist.

  • How to import analog audio into garage band

I have an iMac  with 2.5 GHz Intel Core 5i 8 GB memory OSX 10.7.5 and I am trying to import analog audio from a reel to reel tape deck so I can edit it and burn to a CD. I have a elgato video capture device with RCA female plugs on one side and USB on the other. (I've used this device to import analog video and audio to iMovie and Adobe Premiere Elements). I am told that I could import analog audio to Garage Band to edit and burn , however when I launch Garage Band I am not sure what part of the program I should be selecting and how to go about importing the analog audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to import midi files into garage band for ipad

I have the newest iPad and installed Garage Band.  I don't have a MAC computer, only Windows machines.  I want to use the iPad to send the midi files to a Roland 150 keyboard to make it play the music.  Is this even possible?  The Roland has Midi In and Out ports and I have the camera adapter kit and a Yamaha UX16 USB to Midi cable.

You cannot export midi files from GarageBand, sorry. You can only share audio files in aac-format or GarageBand project files, and both are not midi. See what is currently supported: http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/1.2/index.html#chsec12c387

  • Import a song to Garage Band

Why (why why why) can we not import a song sent via email directly into "music", "Garage Band", etc? Or is there a way? It seems ridiculous (bordering idiotic) that this isn't built in. Apple is so wondrously intuitive in every other area this oversight is baffling. Or am I the idiot and the answer sits in front of me somewhere?
I already know how to import any given song by doing so within iTunes via the application specific upload via my desktop or laptop, but lets say I'm sitting on a desert island next to my good friend Wilson, with no access to a computer, but have (miraculously there is a wifi signal) received an email with a song I would just LOVE to edit/add to in Garage Band. How would I do that?
    Thanks for your help.

This is a poor way of doing this but the only way I found to do this is to record your music into the sampler using the microphone then record the sample. I don't like doing this because of clarity and lack of manipulating the track once created. It would be nice if GB added this feature. Also it would be cool if you could mix down the tracks into one so we could have more tracks to work with.

  • Cannot import iphone movies into lightroom 3

I am unable to import movies made by an iphone 4s into Lightroom 3.6 running on a macbook pro (OS X 10.8.3). The still images are imported fine via the import function of Lightroom. The import page shows the movies, tries to import them but than hangs (even on very small files of80mb)
With ImageCapture from Apple I am able to transfer the files form the iphone onto the macbook. So the problem lies not in transferring te files from the iphone. Importing the movies from the harddisk into lightroom doesn't work either.

  • Import midi libraries to garage band

Is it possible to import outsid emidi libraries into garage band?  I want to have individual midi instruments, for instance, a solo cello or solo trumpet, is there a way to achieve this in Garage Band?

The easiest way to extend the range of software instruments in GarageBand would be to buy and install Mainstage 2 from the AppStore (30 US$) . This will include all JamPack and install them for GargeBand as well - the JamPacks bought separately would coast ~500$, so that is really a bargain.
The JamPacks include wide range of additional strings, horns, and other instruments with many articulations, for example:
Alternately you could look at the soundfonts, see HangTime's post here:
How can you add different instruments to garage band

  • I cannot import images from EXT HD

UNtil yesterday, everything was fine. I am on a Mac. Running iOS 10.9.5 and LR version 5.5 (CR 8.5)
I have imported images from my card into Aperture and these images are stored on an external HD. I then bring the ones I wish to edot into LR
When I try to bring them inot lr, the import process seems to go as always, but upon completion, i get a message saying 'some files cannot be written'. No Error code. Basically all files are not being written. The images are in Aperture. I can see and edit them there, but I cannot bring them from there into Lightroom as I have always done. I havemnt done anything to change my set up. SOmething has happened and I dont know what it is or what to do about it.
I upgraded from LR4 online, so I no longer have a physical cd of the software.
I would be very grateful for any help anyone can give me. Thank you

I mean the directory specified in the Lightroom Import dialog box, near the top right, it says "Destination". Has that directory been accidentally changed to someplace different than it was before when things were working properly?
I can't tell you how to change permissions, as I am not a Mac person, but I think that Google thing might be able to find the answer.

  • Cannot import specific MOV file into iMovie. HELP please!

I have been using iMovie for many years and am not a novice.
For some reason, I have a specific MOV file that I cannot import into iMovie 10.0.5.  When I try to import the file, I get an error message:
"No Importable Files: None of the selected files or folders can be imported"
The file is NOT corrupt and plays perfectly in QuickTime. Interestingly, when I try to import the movie in iMovie, it shows 0.0 sec duration, even though it load/plays perfectly in iMovie with a duration of 54:45.  See file A1 below:
I even tried converting the file to M4V in Quicktime, but iMovie would still not import the new M4V file.
Any suggestions?  This is an important Movie, I cannot re-record it, and I need to edit it in iMovie.
    Thanks in advance!

I copied it below.  I would appreciate any suggestions!

  • Cannot import a .mov file into the library

I am trying to import a .mov file into my library so I can
create a .fla file. Every time I try to import it into the library
using the import wizard, it starts the importing process and always
quits not quite two minutes into the process. It then returns me to
the front page of the import wizard. I have done this before with
    absolutely no problems.
The one thing that I am wondering about is the size of this
particular .mov file. It is 377MB. Do you think this may be part of
my problem? Thank you in advance for anyone's input or
    suggestions!

I would consider 10mb to be too big for a flash file. Even if
    it was CD
I would load it dynamically to avoid performance problem.
377mb is out of the question way beyond flash ability to
    maintain stable
performance, not just the final output but the IDE itself.

  • I cannot import images from my camera directly into Elements Organizer

I am trying to import images into Elements Organizer from my Canon EOS 6D, but it doesn't work properly. I am expecting the images to appear in the Elements Organizer, but the images are only imported onto disk. At the moment I have to re-import images from the disk location as a second step. How can I perform this in one step, as I have seen this in the tutorials?
I am on a Mac using Yosemite using version 13 of Elements Organizer.

There is no "into". LR and PS just reference your photos on the hard drive.
When you import your photos "into" the LR catalog, LR can copy the images off your memory cards to the hard drive if you have not already copied them, but the photos are referenced by the LR catalog by the path and filename for the files.
If you are having problems getting the images off the cards, what steps are you using and what error messages are you getting?

I have a Sony DCR-DVD103 and when I go to File>Import Movies I do see my Finalized DVD, but all the files including the Import button are grayed out. How can I import the Finalized movie into iMovie?
The "Import Movies..." option is for importing "edit" compatible files from a hard drive into iMovie '08. If the source files are not already "edit" compatible, iMovie '08 will not let you import them. Instead, try the ""Import from Camera..." option. If iMovie '08 properly recognizes you DVD camcorder, it will import your MPEG2/AAC content by converting all MPEG-2 "P" and "B" frames to "I" frames (which are editable), convert the AC3 audio to AIFF, and place both in an MOV file container with start and/or end time offsets to minimize drift between audio and video. The resulting file can then be edited in iMovie '08.
If the camcorder is not recognized by iMovie '08, then you will probably have to import the MPEG2/AC3 files to you hard drive and manually convert them to an edit compatible compression format manually using an MPEG-based, third-party conversion application like iSquint (free), MPEG Streamclip (free but requires $20 QT MPEG-2 Playback component), FFmpegX, (donation-ware), Visual Hub (pay-ware), MPEG2 Works (pay-ware), or similar application.
