Cannot import iMovie HD projet into iMovie 09
Hi,
I've been trying to import an iMovie HD (iMovie 6.0.4) project into iMovie 09 via "Imort/iMovie HD project..." but nothing is imported.
Just this:
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks,
TonyT
Hi
NO - Not really !
iMovie 1 to HD6 - is one program and it's evolution.
iMovie'08 to '13 - is something completly different - NO code is used from previous iMovie !
So really No other program - iMovie'08 - '13 or FinalCut Express, Pro or Pro-X or Adobe Premiere etc can import a project so that all work (transitions. texts etc) still remain in an editable form.
What You can do is
• Finalize project in iM HD6 - or -
• Export out as a movie - QT.mov and use this as a template in FinalCut etc and re-build - (doesn't work in iMovie'08 - '13 as it only holds one Video track).

Cannot import specific MOV file into iMovie. HELP please!
I have been using iMovie for many years and am not a novice.
For some reason, I have a specific MOV file that I cannot import into iMovie 10.0.5. When I try to import the file, I get an error message:
"No Importable Files: None of the selected files or folders can be imported"
The file is NOT corrupt and plays perfectly in QuickTime. Interestingly, when I try to import the movie in iMovie, it shows 0.0 sec duration, even though it load/plays perfectly in iMovie with a duration of 54:45. See file A1 below:
I even tried converting the file to M4V in Quicktime, but iMovie would still not import the new M4V file.
Any suggestions? This is an important Movie, I cannot re-record it, and I need to edit it in iMovie.
Thanks in advance!I copied it below. I would appreciate any suggestions!

CANNOT IMPORT FCP .XML FILE INTO PREMIERE PRO CS5
Hi,
Camera used:-Sony Pmw Ex3
Footage :- XDCAM sp(1440 * 1080i) PAL
Edited in :-final cut pro 7
Error :- failed to import .xml file into premiere pro cs5
I tried to import the .xml file into premiere CS5 ,it asked for the media files to relink .whn i linked the .mp4 files it showed the error messege "The selected file cannot be linked becouse it has 2 audio channel(s) and the clip was created with 1 audio channel(s).
then i tried to relink the .mov instead of .mp4 file (which i used in final cut pro on apple machine)i got the error "Codec missing or unavailable"
what should i do???..i almost done all the editing in final cut pro and i bought the adobe coz i thought i can finish all the pending FCP projects in Premier Pro..??What is the CODEC in your MOV file(s)? MOV is but a "wrapper," like AVI. This ARTICLE will give you some background. It could be that you just need the proper CODEC, or it could be that it is a Mac-only CODEC, and then you will need for the producer to Export in another CODEC, that is PC-compatible.
This ARTICLE will give you some background on CODEC's, in general.
Good luck,

Cannot import .mov video files into Premiere Pro CS4
Hi Everyone,
I have Premiere Pro CS4 and cannot import .mov files into my project. When I try Premiere freezes up and has to be closed. I'm running Windows 7 and have a Gateway DX4300-11 with a Quad-Core AMD processor with 8 Gigs of ram although the Adobe CS4 programs only seem to recognize 4 Gigs at startup. How do I get Premiere to import .mov files?

Cannot import photos or video into fcp x
I have the newest version of FCP X and cannot import photos from iphoto or video...anyone, anyone?
By clicking on the Photo Browser I assume that you mean the highlighted button in the screeen shot below:
As you can see, on my system a view of the iPhoto collection does appear. If/when you find the photo(s) you want, drag them into the the event.
So why doesn't this happen for you? Don't know. Where is your iPhoto library? Some location that Final Cut isn't expecting? Maybe searching for other posts re iPhoto in this community?

Cannot import a .mov file into the library
I am trying to import a .mov file into my library so I can
create a .fla file. Every time I try to import it into the library
using the import wizard, it starts the importing process and always
quits not quite two minutes into the process. It then returns me to
the front page of the import wizard. I have done this before with
absolutely no problems.
The one thing that I am wondering about is the size of this
particular .mov file. It is 377MB. Do you think this may be part of
my problem? Thank you in advance for anyone's input or
suggestions!Jeremy Williams wrote:

I would consider 10mb to be too big for a flash file. Even if
it was CD
I would load it dynamically to avoid performance problem.
377mb is out of the question way beyond flash ability to
maintain stable
performance, not just the final output but the IDE itself.

Cannot import FXG and Photoshop into Catalyst - error parsing fxg
Update: Fireworks and Photoshop both don't work.
I cannot import anything from a Fireworks FXG file to Catalyst. It errors every time. I even tried creating a couple of simple new files, one was just a box, and it still would not import. I originally thought my fireworks file was too complex, but it is doing the same thing regardless of simple vs. complex files. Please help. I am totally stuck. All my files are in Fireworks.
I am also having an error when I try to import PSD files. I was able to successfully import an AI file.
Error parsing FXG is the error I get from my fireworks files. The weird thing is I have some stuff that worked a couple of weeks ago, it's like it just stopped working.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I guess I should also ask, is this forum an Adobe supported forum, or just a user forum? I guess I should try to contact Adobe directly on this issue.

No matter what file I try it gives the same error even with just a simple box on the page. I've rebooted my computer and that does not solve the problem. -
Cannot import the whole video into imovie 08
Hi. I've successfully imported video from my Sony Handicam, using imovie 06 in the past, without any problems. However, I recently upgraded to 08 and it only allows me to import 50 minutes worth and then rewinds the tape! When I check the memory available on my hard drive it seems that I still have half the drive space left! Any help would be appreciated - this is driving me mad!
Hi
Not knowing. I would start a new user/account - log into this and re-try.
BUT 50 min - indicates a serious project not just some minutes to YouTube.
iMovie'08 is more for short doings. If You had iM HD 6 - it's now
in the folder Applications/iMovie previous versions.
(If not download from Apple. iLife08 owners are entitled to do this)
Update this to iM 6.0.4 and You will have Your movie done. I think iM08 reduces the quality on top
of all else missing.
So if You are doing a DVD - please work in iM6 and keep frustration to a low.

Cannot import iMovie HD 6 into iMovie 09
I'm trying to import my iMovie HD 6 projects into iMovie 09. It selectively imports some clips, but not all, and it doesn't import the project itself at all. There is a listing in the project window, but it has nothing in it. Another import brought the project over, but no sound.
What's going on?There is a listing in the project window, but it has nothing in it. Another import brought the project over, but no sound.
Project files, as such, are not compatible. An HD project consists of a physical timeline that references physically rendered files in the HD project "Media" folder. On the other hand, an iMovie '08/'09 project consists of a set of instructions detailing how a source files are to be changed to turn them into an output file -- i.e., like comparing a role of film with a set of model plane instructions. At best, an iMovie '09 project can only bring in source files and apply effects, transitions, or titles that might be common to both but it will not re-assemble the rendered files produced by iMovie HD. You could, of course, export the iMovie HD timeline as a DV or AIC file and import that into iMovie '09 as source file to be further edited. However, usually it would be best to finish your original project in the original application or start an entirely new version from scratch in iMovie '09. -
I cannot import sandisk movie files into iMovie any more after years with no problems.
For years I have filmed with my Panasonic HC-X900 and taken the SD card via a usb convertor, plugged it into my macbook pro and iMovie has automatically found the new files - easy to import into iMovie. Now the files are nowhere to be seen even though I can play them back through the camera. Any suggestions?

Cannot import pictures from iPhoto into iMovie!
When I try to upload my JPEG pictures from iPhoto, I can successfully drag them into the storyboard, but they all show up as the same picture (the picture right before all of them). When I try to drag them into the workspace below the storyboard, I see the number of them (doesn't matter how many) in a red circle, not allowing me to drag them over from the browser.
I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can anyone help out with this?Open the photo Browser in iMovie. Find your Album. Drag the icon for your Album into the iMovie Project.

Cannot Import iMovie Projects?
i have imovie 08 and when i tried to import my projects to FCE it has an error message and it says that it cannot be done???? Help!
True, the FCE4 manual shows (pg 210) that an iMovie project can be opened by FCE4, but if one method doesn't work then try the 2nd method, after all that's why Apple included both methods

I cannot import Power Point slides into my presentation...
Hello, have created brand new project with Captivate 7 and tried to import a Power Point slide I made seconds earlier, and I get an error message. I tried the same with a new project in Captivate 6 (I have 6 and 7) and I get the same message. See image. Power Point was closed when I tried to import it. Any ideas what could possibly be happening?
Thanks for any help!!!As per the Captivate 7 manual:
1. In an open project, Select File > Import > PowerPoint Slides.
2. Navigate to and select the PowerPoint presentation file format that you want to import.
3. Click Open.
4. Decide where to place the imported PowerPoint slides in the Adobe Captivate project. Add the slides to the end of the project, or click a slide in the list and add the PowerPoint slides after that slide.
5. Click OK.
6. In the Convert PowerPoint Presentations dialog box, do the following:
a. Select the PowerPoint slides to convert to Adobe Captivate project slides.
b. Set navigation preferences for the selected slides.
c. If you want to link to the PowerPoint presentation, select Linked. If you want to embed the PowerPoint presentation, deselect Linked.
7. Click OK.
The PowerPoint slides are imported into the Adobe Captivate project and they appear in the designated location. If necessary, you can change the order of the slides.
Hope this helps!
