Have unistalled and reinstalled a few times. Even reinstalled purchased lightroom 5 from disk. Getting behind on workflow

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Make sure all of the videos used in the project that is having that problem are from the same event. If they are from multiple events, move them all into one event.

OK, after looking into the settings on "my account" on the Verizon website, it appears that "caller ID" was removed from my "features" on my line. The only reason I actually noticed this is because I have the same phone as someone else on our account, so I looked at their features and noticed mine was missing. Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #1, Repair Permissions, followed by Option #4, Rebuild Database, if needed.

Itunes hangs when I try importing a CD. I'm running OS X Mavericks. I've never had this problem before. Any tips?

I'm trying to import a CD onto my MBP from a superdrive for one of my college classes. However, I am unable to because it will only import two tracks and then hangs on the thrid one. After a minute or so, Itunes becomes unresponsive. I have never encountered this sort of error Windows or in OS X. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Probably the CD is bad around the third track and iTunes is trying and re-trying to read it. If you see scratches that could very likely be it, but it could be an invisible (to you) defect in the burn or media. See if iTunes does this with another CD, or if that CD rips on other machines. I believe iTunes also has a preferences setting for error checking which you could try disabling.
You can also try a different ripper such as XLD which lets you set the CD rip paramaters.

I'm having the same problem as you.
Lightroom 5.2 has been running for a year and now it's just stops importing from my CF cards.
Is that the same problem, or a different problem?
What is the error message?
I've got Permissions set to allow me to do anything so, that ain't the issue either.
This is often the first response and when we insist that we see screen captures of the Import dialog box and the permissions on the folder specified under "Destination", it turns out the permissions are not set properly.
So, we need to see screen captures of both your Import dialog box and the permissions on that exact folder specified under Destination

My latest attempt to import photos from my slr resulted in an error. Something to thew effect of file not compatible. never had this problem before.

What system and iPhoto versions are you using? What camera model and are you shooting just jpegs or RAW or both?
See if you can launch Image Capture and get it to recognize your camera. If it does then download the photos to a folder on the Desktop to get them safely on the hard drive.
See if the files can be imported into iPhoto from that folder.
Reformat the memory card with your camera, take some test shots and try to import into iPhoto directly.
