CANNOT import RAW files from CANON 40D to Lightroom 1.2

My color setup in 40D is sRGB
my system is windows XP
but when I want to import files from my CF card
it will show the message: some import operation were not performed.
the files use an unsupported color mode.
pls tell me how to solve this problem~

Sorry for the above post. My daughter hit the keyboard. I am having the same trouble and I have tried shooting in Standard Raw and with the attached Jpg. I get a message that states it is a unsupported color format. Any ideas? It sounds like everyone else has got this to work but it simply will not work for me. I am running Vista if that makes a difference.

  • PSE11: How to import Raw files from Canon Powershot SX60 HS Bridge Camera? [was: Dear Sir,]

I have just purchased a Canon Powershot SX60 HS Bridge Camera. I have Photoshop Elements 11 and I cannot import Raw files. How do I download the latest version of Camera Raw into Elements 11?
    T.W. Gasby

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
    With Elements 11 you cannot.
The SX60 HS was first supported in  Camera Raw 8.7 which is only compatible with Elements 13 and later.
    Options:
Pay to upgrade to Elements 13
Free option: download the Adobe DNG converter, convert all SX60 HS Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in Elements 11

  • Cannot import video file from Canon Vixia hfs10 to imovie'11.

Hi this is my first post on this site.
I am having trouble trying to import video files from Canon Vixia hfs10 to imovie'11. The computer does not even recognize this camcorder. When I do a PC connection, iphoto comes up, but all it tells me to import are the pictures that I have taken.
No matter what I do, I cannot find the folder for my camcorder in the device section in the finder.
When I try to import it on imovie, I only get an option for facetime camera and not my vixia.
    Please help!

  • Can't import RAW files from Canon Powershot S50.

iPhoto6 will not import RAW files from my Canon Powershot S50. It says the files are "unreadable". Image capture will import to the desktop, but neither iPhoto nor Photoshop Elements can open the file. I checked and the S50 is supposed to be compatible with OSX and RAW files.

I agree but I was responding to someone with an S50. That's hardly an "advanced amateur" camera. iPhoto has some rather neat catalog features but the editing is purely for the snapshooter. Heck, I suspect that redeye removal is the most popular feature and, as far as I'm concerned, if you have redeye to begin with, you're a snapshooter.
I'm an extremely advanced amateur with my film setup but, because of cost, I'm still a snapshooter with my digital camera. My film setup is two Nikon N80s with a top-of-the-line Nikon flash head that I use only with a Stroboframe bracket. The bracket and the necessary extension cord cost me nearly $200! My lenses are pure Nikon, including a single focal length f/1.8, 85 mm. portrait lens.
I consider 10 MP to be the bare minimum for "advanced amateur" shooting and both Canon and Nikon have recently introduced 10MP SLRs in the $1000 range. However, I'm waiting for the next advance - an SLR without the reflex mechanism - interchangeable lenses and an FP shutter but no mirror! Let's face it, the reflex mechanism adds cost but a digital screen gives the same view and even better (you can see the color balance) and screens are now available that can be viewed in bright sunlight.
I'm also hoping for one thing that will probably never happen - physically larger CCDs so that I can get the same focus control (small depth of field) that I can get with my film camera.

  • New Computer - Can't import raw files from Canon 1D mk 4

I just bought a new Toshiba Qosmio laptop and have reinstalled PS CS5 and LR 3.2 64 bit.  LR says there are no other updates to install.  Trying to import raw files from CF reader but LR is not showing me the raw files on the import screen.  I have installed Camera Raw 6.2 plug in.  It's been a long night but I can't see why files aren't importing properly.  What am I missing?  All suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mark

    Mark,
The ACR plugin is not needed for importing files with Lightroom. LR has it's own "ACR" built in. The ACR plugin is used when opening Raw files from Photoshop.
Try copying the files from your card-reader to your hard drive using explorer/finder, and try importing from there. There have been quite a few reports where the card reader (and its connection) have lead to trouble while importing into LR.

  • Import Raw files from Nikon D7000 into Lightroom 3

If I understand correctly I must upgrade to Lightroom 4.3 or get a converter in order to import my Raw files from Nikon D7000 into Lightroom?
Not sure if I understand it correct?  Which is the best way?

I use LR 3.6 with the latest updates for camera raw for this version, I believe it's 6.7, and my D7000 and its NEF's were correct handled.
Did nothing else as install the program, update every time there was an update and in September when I bought the D7000 LR worked fine with his NEF's. Before I had a D40x which was als correctly handled.

  • Aperture 3.0 not importing RAW files from Canon T1i

I have recently upgraded to Aperture 3.0. I shoot with Canon T1i in RAW+JPG file size. When importing files from Canon T1i for the first time to Aperture 3.0, I found that all files imported as jpg not RAW. How do I get the RAW files? Help!!!
    Anjali

It does support Canon T1i RAW mode. In the "Import Settings", there's a section for "RAW+JPEG Pairs". If you don't see this, click the "Import Settings" pulldown menu and select it.
In the "RAW+JPEG Pairs" section, there's a pulldown menu to allow you to select "Both (RAW as Master)"
It'll use the JPEG as the "Preview" image, but it will use the RAW as the master for all adjustments you want to perform.
Prior to the import, you should see both the JPEG and RAW (.CR2) files. AFTER the import, you should only see the RAW in your project (it has the JPEG... but it wont normally display it because it knows the RAW is the master.) After the import, select any photo in your project, then click the "metadata" tab on the left. At the top it should give you the camera, lens, exposure info, etc. and you should see the "RAW" icon.

  • Problems importing RAW files from Canon 5D

My Lightroom 4.0 cannot read my RAW (CR.) files from my Canon 5D Mk1 . My MACbook can 'see ' them through Lightroom when I connect the camera but when I click import I get a message saying it cannot read the files (889)?

Can you please quote the error message exactly? Error messages that contain "cannot read" often mean that the permissions on the destination folder (where the RAW files are supposed to go to on your hard drive) are not set to WRITE permission. Please check.
Also, are you sure its a "Canon 5D Mk1"? Is that a typo? This list of supported cameras doesn't list that camera

  • DNG raw plug in 8.2 cannot open raw files from canon camera S120

After downloading DNG raw plug in 8.2 for CS5 for the new Canon S120 camera, the raw file still cannot be open
    Can someone help

Right, ACR 8.3 is for cs6 and cc; it will not work as a plugin update in CS5.  You should download the 8.3 DNG converter stand alone program from
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
then use it to convert folders of your new S120 cr2 raw files to folders of dng files, which can be processed in your cs5 by acr 6.7 (latest cs5 release).

  • Can't import RAW files from Canon Rebel Xsi (450d)

I have to use an Adobe Camera Raw program to convert to DNG files and then import into iPhoto 08'. Not sure if I like DNG file and if there is any loss from converting. JPGS work fine. Love the Camera, shoots great photos. Does anyone know if Apple or another program that will convert into a Raw format from the Canon that iPhoto will take? Or will I just have to wait for a driver? I can import directly into Photoshop CS3 just fine.

That camera is so new that you're just going to have to wait for RAW support. Your option, in the meantime, is to use the Camera Raw conversion.

  • Cannot Import .CRW Files from Canon S70

I have imported thousands of RAW format photographs from my Canon 20D (.CR2) and 1Ds (TIF); however, none of the .CRW files from my Canon S70 will import. There is nothing wrong with the files themselves, as I can open them in Photoshop CS2 and Bridge. Specifically, I am using the option to import a copy and convert to .DNG. I have not tried any of the other import options. Has anyone experienced this or know how to get past this stumbling block.

On a lark, I checked for updates in Adobe Bridge. It indicated that there was a RAW update available, so I installed it. Lo and behold, I was then able to import the .CRW files from my Canon S70.
Can anyone explain this? Since I had CS2 installed well before ever installing Lightroom, is it possible that the presence of the RAW libraries that were already installed with CS2, prevented the installation of the newer RAW libraries when I installed Lightroom 1.0? And even so, what would be different - I was able to manipulate .CRW raw files in Bridge and CS2 before installing the latest raw update.

  • Cannot open raw files from canon 6d in photoshop cs6 or lightroom 4

I just bought a canon 6d but now the files are not opening in lightroom or photoshop. is there a plug in or something I can use to make these work?

The Canon 6D has been supported since LR 4.3 and PS-CS6/ACR 7.3 so you may need to update.
You can find LR updates on this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
You should be able to update to ACR 8.7.1 via Help / Updates in PS’s menus.
Or if that doesn't work, you can download the ACR 8.7.1 installer from here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
Unless you’re still running an older OS, like Windows Vista or earlier or OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, then you’ll need the ACR 8.3 installer from here:

PS 12 öffnet nicht die RAW-Dateien meiner Canon 70 D. Wer kann mir helfen?

Camera Raw 8.2 is required. You probably have Camera Raw 8.0 installed with PSE 12.
In PSE 12 try Help > Updates to update Camera Raw.

  • Cannot import RAW files from Nikon D70

I have an iMac G5 running Leopard 10.5.2. When I try to import to iPhoto '08 from my Nikon D70, I get a message that says "The volume for DSC-xxxx.NEF cannot be found." The program then stalls and I have to force quit to get out of it. This happens whether trying to import photos from a card reader or from a desktop folder. I've tried re-installing both iPhoto and NIkon software to no avail. Any suggestions?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
