Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
Home sharing will then work

How do you import songs into a new iTunes library from a Touch?

I downloaded iTunes on a new PC laptop but, I'm unable to import the songs that are on the Touch, to the new iTunes library.
The songs that are on the Touch are all iTunes purchased songs and these songs are based in a iTunes library that is on the old laptop that no longer works. iTunes on the old laptop cannot be accessed and there was no cd-dvd back up done for this library.
When the Touch is connected to iTunes on the new laptop, the songs on the Touch do appear in a music folder under the device heading which is fine but, because these songs can't be imported into the new library, they cannot be backed up as far as I know.
Otherwise, everything regarding iTunes is working as it should be on the new laptop.
Since I'm dealing only with iTunes purchased songs, iTunes, and a Apple device, there must be some way of adding the songs from the Touch into the new library.
I've done a Google search about this and any of the suggestions I've tried, haven't worked.
The OS on the new laptop, is Windows 7.
If someone can offer some help on this, it would be appreciated.

Cannot import Backup Library onto new computer

My computer recently crashed, but I saved my backup library to disk before it crashed. I purchased a new computer which has Windows Vista and downloaded the new Itunes to my computer. For some reason, I cannot import the old library. Is there something I need to do to get my library to open on my new computer?

Not really sure i remember when i was moving librarys i couldn't just drag the whole library in. i had to select everything in a folder and then drag that in. Try importing one song a see if it works.
Try putting it in a folder and selecting 'import folder into library' or drag it in.
do the files work and is your library on your ipod. (if so it makes it alot easier).
If the files work try clicking on them and see if they go to itunes.

When I format my computer, all of the songs in my iTunes are gone. This is normal. But then, how come I cannot import all of my songs from my iPad/iPhone to my iTunes Library.

That's normal too. iTunes is designed to transfer purchases only. Ideally you would have backed up your library and personal data before reformatting.

Still cannot import songs from library to iphone

Dearest,
my problem is the following: whilst my laptop accepted my iphone as external device when it comes to itunes on the left-hand sidebar i cannot see my device. Moreover if that helps you when i choose accidentally some songs to import them "the sync option" is grey - therefore i am not able even to do that sync part.

Why not? What happens when trying to sync content to the device? Or are you manually managing content on the device?

Cannot import album art since new Itunes version

Since last update, I can no longer import picture files of any type as album art. Any thoughts? The file comes in as a black background.

I am having the same issue. If I close itunes and open with a new CD already in the drive, it will find it. But once that CD has been imported and ejected, itunes does not find the newly inserted CD and there is no command to tell itunes to "look" in the CD drive

Cannot import songs in library

Hi there. This is my first post. I have a library of over 15000 songs on a external HD. I've imported them to my itunes library but several of them won't show up. I've tried import file, import folder, drag and drop, double click, nothing works. I've checked these files, they're mp3 some have correct tag, some don't... can anyone please help ?

Itunes won't let me import songs anymore

When i first got my ipod and itunes it was all good. I had imported over a thousand song on my ipod. Now whenever I try to import a song from a cd or already on my computer an error comes up saying "An unkown error occured [-223]". I have tried updating the itunes and uninstalling and reinstalling it. no dice. Is there any hope for me?

I having the same problem. I noticed that some videos were missing from my itunes TV Shows playlist. Also, when I tried downloading a file into my ipod, I got an error message stating that the file was not compatiable with my iPod. Only I got the file from iTunes! I've tried deleting everything and reloading with the same results. It will not upload several files. Most of which are already AAC. I've tried adding, importing, and copy and paste with all resulting in failure.
This is becoming a total pain in the rear. If it's not one thing, it's another. I mean every since iTunes 7, the bugs keep mounting, and that before I switch to a Vista OS.

I cannot authorize songs on my new computer

I created a backup of my iTunes music on cds and have now put them on my new computer after the last one crashed. The iTunes now says I have more than 5 audible accounts open which are all from old computers. Most of the music I have bought straight off of the iTunes Store and many of those songs have the same issue. Does anyone know how to deathorize those past accounts?

If you have five computers authorised, once every year you can do a "deauthorise all" which clears all authorisation from existing PCs. The following document has more information on that:

Cannot sync songs from my new lap top to my ipod

I just got a new labtop and it wont let me sync any new music on to it because it says my ipod is synced with another i tunes ..that would be my old computer and that one is broken its saying i can erase and recreate but i dont wanna erase 700 songs.. what do i do?

My Garageband Won't Import Songs Anymore!

Can someone please help me?!!! I am not the most computer savvy person in the world. I am a dance teacher, and every year I need to shorten songs for my students to do their recital dances to. Last year, I just dragged and dropped each song from iTunes into a garageband timeline. But this year, I tried to do the same thing I have done many times in the past, and it won't work! It says importing file, but then nothing shows up in the timeline. The wierd thing is that it does let me do it for some songs. It picks and chooses the songs it will allow me to drag and drop. I tried clicking on 'convert selection to AAC', I tried reimporting the songs into iTunes from a CD. I just can't get some of the songs to garageband! Please help!

Cannot play songs anymore on ipod

*Hi,I used to play songs perfectly on my iPod but after I downloaded some songs from frostwire onto my iPod,they wouldn't play.I click on the song and after a few seconds the track appears as if its playing but then it suddenly slides away as if the song has finished!I deleted all the songs I had downloaded from frostwire but it still doesnt work.Any suggestions would be very helpful.Thanks!*

Cannot load song anymore

Hi everybody,
after installing Logicpro8 two times, everything was alright and we worked on several projects without any problems until yesterday.
Then we tried to open a project, we did work on for several days and logic crashed, not just with the main project file, we tried to open 10 other backups of this song, any of these crashed also.
We're guessing it has sthg to do with 3rd party plugins, we're using BFD, Kontakt2 and Chris Hein Horns. UAD works fine. Other projects are alright, but this one crashes even before loading samples.
So there's no way getting the song loaded and we are not very keen on composing it all over again.
We repaired the volumes without getting any results.
Can anybody help?

Deactivate the Audio Core (Logic->Preferences->Drivers->disable Core) without having a Project loaded - load the corrupted song - all Plugs are crossed out - bybass 3rd party plugs - activate the Core again - activate the plugs one by one - once the corrupted plug is activated the Song crashes - deactivate Core again - open corrupted song and take out that broken plug - this procedure has helped me before

CANNOT TRANSFER SONGS ANYMORE!!!!

so my little nephew wa messing around with my ipod and i do not know what he did. whenever i plug my ipod into the usb cable it automatically comes out "firewire connections are not supported. to transfer, connect usb cable provided" and i do not have the cd to redownload itunes. what do i do

First, take a look at the docking connector on the bottom of your iPod. Check for debris, cookie crumbs, etc., and if you see any clean them out. Do the same thing on the docking end of your cable and try again.
If that doesn't work, try another cable if you have access to one. If that still doesn't work it is likely your nephew damaged the logic board and it needs to be repaired.
