Cannot import still image: jpeg/tiff/png/gif/ai/psd

Hello all:
I'm running into a strange error. No matter what size image I try, I cannot seem to import a still image into Adoe Premiere Pro cs4 running on Mac OSX 10.6.2
The error I receive is a "File Import Error: File Video Dimensions width/height too large."
I've tried the following to isolate why Premiere is returning this error:
- importing images at different sizes: 100x200, 1000x2000 etc
- saving the image as different file formats: jpeg, tiff, gif, png etc
- importing it as an illustrator file
- importing it as a Photoshop file
None of that worked. I'm at my wit's end and I can't seem to find anybody that has experienced this error before.

Here are some threads to check:

http://forums.adobe.com/thread/480381
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/387156

IIRC, the third one is for the Mac, but might be useful info in all.
Good luck,

  • Can't import still images into a project or create a podcast track

I'd be grateful if anyone can explain why I can't import still images onto a track like you can easily do in garage band - in garage band you simply create a podcast track, then drag your photos onto it. However in logic, when I open the media browser i can get a photo folder up but it will not allow me to even look at the contents.
Also, why is it that the manual for logic express has nothing about how to import a movie to produce a movie score - and yet garage band can even do this.
    Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried "Working with Video" section of the manual? It's somewhere close to the end...
Logic works with audio, not images. That's why you can't import a photo, because media browser is used to locate audio files, mostly. And sometimes video.
I guess it works this way, you create a podcast with Logic, bounce it to mp3 or another compressed format. Then import it into GB and insert a photo.

  • Animation. How do I import still images in final cut pro x (from dragon frame) duration 3 frames pr. image?

Animation. How do I import still images in final cut pro x (from dragon frame) duration 3 frames pr. image? We have allready tried to set stillimages duration in preferences to 0,08 sek, but it does not have any effect!

You can drag your images to the timeline, select all, ctrl-d and set the duration to 3 frames by typing 3 and enter.
Or you can use Quicktime 7 to "open image sequence", select the desired duration, export your animation to quicktime and import that into FCP X for further editing.

I want to import still images to make a stop motion animation, but when I try to change the duration of still images, it isn't reflected in the timeline.  How can I do this?

    Tonaw,
If you import your still images using iPhoto, then the time you set for each still, using FCPX Perferences works.
You can set the durantion from 1 frame to as long as you want them view.
If you do not use iPhoto to import your stills, the default is 10 sec's.
FYI: This issue was brought up within a month after FCPX was released. They found out by using iPhoto, you had better control of the amount of time your still was viewed.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 won't import still images correctly

I've about had it with this pile of ****.
Brand new install of Premiere Pro CS5. When attempting to import still images, random images will show up as other images. i.e. in Windows, I'll have the following:
    one.jpg (shows up at one.jpg)
    two.jpg (shows up at two.jpg)
    three.jpg (shows up at three.jpg)
Once I import them into PPro, I get this:
    one.jpg (shows up at one.jpg)
    two.jpg (shows up at two.jpg)
    three.jpg (shows up at one.jpg) <-----
In other words, three.jpg is named three.jpg in PPro, but when I bring it into a sequence, or view it, it displays the image from one.jpg
I've tried clearing the media cache, renaming the images, moving them to different directories/drives. Any suggestions? Or should I just get my money back ffs. Thanks for any help.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Importing still images

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/importing-still-images.html

I might be incorrect in this, but think that there is a Ps Script, that will do what you want.
I would ask in the Photoshop Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop
and also in the Photoshop Scripting Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop/photoshop_scripting?view=discussions
If my memory is not totally hosed, one of those should yield the Script (if it exists, as I claim to remember) for that task.
    Good luck,

  • Default duration time for importing still images

    Hello all,
Is there an easy way to change the default duration time for imported still images?
I have thousands of images that I want to import to make a time elapsed movie. I would like for these images to have a duration of less than a second. I could do this individually, but it would take forever.
Can the default duration time for imported images be changed?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi
Too long time I made anything serious in iMovie HD6 (altough a a very competent editor)
    (Took the FinalCut leap)
As I remember (just tested) it - if photos are imported then it's a tedious labor
to set duration - one at a time. No global function I can induce.
BUT - I would put my photos into a separate folder in iPhoto so that they are easy
to get in iMovie from audio/photo browser.
Then I select (in iMovie) the first photo and double click on it to view it on canvas.
Now I also get a small gray window where I can set size and duration.
    I select 01:00 (1 sec) in duration and Apply/Use.
Then I selec the rest of the photos and drag them down to TimeLine after first
photo. And they also get same duration of 01:00.

  • I cannot import RAW images from my Nikon Df.

    Hello,
I have a late '11 Macbook Pro that currently has OSX 10.7.5 and iPhoto version 9.2.1  and for some reason I cannot import RAW images from my Nikon Df memory card.
I don't know if I have something wrong in my settings or if my current iPhoto and/or OSX needs to be upgraded.  Is there anyone here that would be so kind to help this technically challenged old man and tell me what I need to do?
    Many thanks!

You'll need OS 10.9 Mavericks and Camera Raw update 5.0.2 and Aperture version 3.4.5 or later, or iPhoto version 9.4.3 or later, is required to install this update.
The good news is that all those updates are free as you have 10.7.
As always, back up all data before upgrading anything.

  • AQ message containig image (jpeg,tiff...)

    Hi,
I need to build an app that buils a AQ message containing an image (jpeg,tiff...)without any Oracle SW installed on that box.The message will then be enqueued
to a AQ queue on a remote system.
1st - Is it possible to have a message containing a queue?
2nd - Do you think Java and AQ Java API is the best solution?
    Thanks.
    Luis

If you do not need any Oracle SW at the client build an XML message using the IDAP specification (supported in 9i) and post it to an AQ servelet running where your database queues are located. This will gice you maximum independence at the client side. The XML/HTTP message can be generated using any language and needs only to follow AQ's IDAP spec.

  • Cannot Copy RAW Images to Tiff or Jpeg while in ACR

Requesting immediate help if anyone available currently
I've been using Photoshop CS6 for several years, never a problem at all. As soon as I bought Creative Cloud, I see many issues that cannot be resolved or are recurring.
Again today as I go to copy files (images) from Adobe Camera Raw, to say a Tiff or a Jpeg, it appears to begin to copy as normal, then suddenly a box appears with all my copying
file name/numbers, and it begins to eliminate one by one "Cannot Create File", failing the entire process to copy. I have never seen this until I began using Creative Cloud about a
    month ago.
Can anyone help this Saturday evening as I am trying to complete a large project of images for others who expect them soon?
Thank you and I look forward to any advice soon,
    Mark Seibold, Artist-Astronomer, Portland Oregon

First I'd like to state I am fairly ignorant of Adobe Camera Raw, as I've been using Lightroom for years. I'm only replying because you seem under a close time constraint.
Are you working within PS CC? It seems that Camera Raw no longer exists independently, but rather as a plug in within PS CC. I mention this because I seem to recall at one point it could function as an independent app. I am just wondering if you were using an old version of ACR, that may have been overwritten, or started within PS CC.
That is the only help I can offer as far as ACR, and may have nothing to do with your issue.
If you must get these done very soon and can't solve ACR, I'd also suggest giving Lightroom a shot, if you've access to it, just this one time, until you get ACR running again. Open it up, Create an intial library, like 2015 or Lightroom. Import the images you'd like to copy/convert, in a way that that the originals aren't moved and copies of the RAWs, (or DNGs) are made. Then select all, in the most recent import folder, and turn around and export them in whatever form you desire. Also, Lightroom is non-destructive, so, if you'd like to try making adjustments before exporting, under the develop tab, any alterations or adjustments you might make before exporting are completely reversible.
I realize changing one's workflow, and learning a new app, may be too much effort at this point, and very possibly require too much time, but you might pick it up quickly enough to get 'er done on time.
That is all the help I can offer. Wish I knew more about ACR.

  • CS6: cannot open any files JPEG, TIFF, PSD, PNG [was:Help!]

    Hey,
So, I'm a freshmen in college majoring in Simulation and Game Development. Two of my SGD classes features Photoshop. I am trying to continue an assignment that I started at school today, but the Photoshop CS6 (64 bit) that I have on my laptop (which was obtained legally and is a gift from my sister) will not let me open any files. Not, JPEG, TIFF, PSD, PNG, nary a one of the photo types can be opened. It doesn't give me any signs of trouble or error messages. It just wont let me open a file or make a new file. I just sits there in all its power staring me down. Ugh, why must Photoshop all of a sudden despise me so? So, could you all please help me and fast? I have deadlines that must be met!
    Blessings,
    BSE

Okay, I'm going to say this now. I'm a techinically chanellged artistic person. So, I haven't a clue what a OS is...
And no I haven't changed anything on my computer lately, except for the updates that the computer does while it's configuring, which is did earlier when I tried the ole restart and hope it works thing. Which sadly, did not do anything to help me.
    Extra Info:
    Computer: Dell Inspiron
    System Operator: Winows 7 Ultimate
Yes, it's tyhe full version not the trial version.
    It's Photoshop CS6 (64 bit).
Yes, I've used it before on this computer.
I've had it for almost 2 maybe 3 months now.  I got it as a gift from my sister the 2nd and 3rd week of he beginning of my Fall semester. We're almost at the end of said semester since 2 to 3 weeks ago I have my midterms, which were all jammed into one week. Tests galore.

  • I cannot use still images in iMovie Trailers anymore

Hi all, I am hoping someone out there can help me.
    I am using iMovie '11  Version 9.0.9 (1795)
    I have a macbook prousing OS x Version 10.9.2
Processor 2.2 Ghz intel core i7
Last year I created a few "Trailers" using still images. All of a sudden I can no longer do this.  I cannot click on the camera icon as it is 'greyed' out or unclickable.  My photos stored in iPhoto.
I can no longer simply drag and drop my images into the 'Project' anymore.
You know when you go to drag an item on Mac and the little green plus ot appears to say essentially 'you can drag here'... well this appears when I try and drag into the 'Event Library', but then a warning/notification screen appears saying "The Files will not be imported.  Photos cannot be imported to the Event Library. Try dragging directly to your Project" .... Well I would if it let me, but it doesn't.
Is anyone else having this problem or has experienced this and has a solution please.
This has wasted more hours than I care to give it, and is doing my head in.
    Thank you
    Panandine

I am bringing in 72dpi jpegs of some of my design work into iMovie
The dpi setting is of NO importance in iMovie/iDVD - only the actual image pixel size. See Preparing images for DVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/17.html for suggested sizes unless you plan on using a lot of Ken Burns Effect zooming.
When I am in iMovie and I drag a clip(still image) into the time line the image looks dull and blurry
The preview window in iMovie is just that - a preview window - for use in editing. It does NOT show the actual image quality of the clip.
Some of us like Photo to Movie or FotoMagico for turning still images into slideshow movies - both offer free trial modes - you might want to give one of them a try.
