Cannot import video saved as swf

I am a new user to Flash CS4 and am trying to add a movie
that I created on top of an image. The image is of a snowy
landscape and I am trying to add falling snow movie to this image.
I have already created, saved, and exported my movie.
I go to Import Video in Flash, to which brings me to the
Import Video dialog box...I select "embed FLV in SWF and play in
timeline" The dialog then tells me "You've selected an incompatible
video format to embed in SWF and play in timeline. You must use an
FLV file or a different deployment method."
From there I try to launch the adobe media encoder but when I
search for my SWF file on my hard drive, it will not let me use
it...
Is there another way for me to convert this file into an FLV?
Thank you for your help!

You can use the Adobe Flash video encoder that comes with
CS4, the problem is as it states the older FLV's are incompatible
with the new flash so they will need to be converted. You can also
take the source file not FLV and import it and play it in the
timeline.

  • Captioned Videos Saved as .swf not uploading

Is there any way to upload a captioned video, saved as .swf,
to the content library? I thought Adobe Connect Presenter was
Section 508 compliant. This seems ridiculous if it can't be done. I
work for the Govt and we have to abide by all Section 508
guidelines, and this includes captioned videos! How are others
doing this? I've also saved the files to my web server, which work
as a progressive downloaded video, but on some older PCs the files
    get choppy.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Thank you for the response!
Actually, I finally realized (and i'm a little embarassed to admit) that when I click on the link for the pdf, my default program to open the file was set to Preview rather than adobe acrobat or reader.  So now that I have it set to Acrobat I see it ok.
I have tested the swf file by itself and it does work.  The file uses the Page Turn transition affect, so the user needs to click the bottom right corner of each page to turn (or they can click and drag the page open).  I did notice when the pdf was opend the little note I included in the bottom right of the first page does not show (it reads "click here to turn page"- as a prompt for the user).  I may have to move that up a little bit so it shows.  Also, if you hover over the bottom right corner of the right page, you should start to see the page corner curl, this is hard to see at this point (you can see it great if you click the zoom in option once) Maybe i'll have to reduce the size of the swf when making it a pdf to see if that works so the user doesn't have to adjust the page to see the affect.
    I'll see how that works.

  • I cannot import video from my camcorder. Although I have in the past.

I cannot import video from my camcorder to Photoshop Premier 9. Although I have in the past.  What's wrong?

Ask in the Premiere Elements forum and be much more specific. System info, exact camcorder model, project settings and all that...

cannot import videos from a sony camcorder.

Hi cape_surfers, and a warm welcome to the forums!
UPDATE1: About the MPEG-2 component included with iMovie ‘08
UPDATE2: After raising a stink, I figured that I’d spend a little more time trying to figure out how to make my Handycam work with native iMovie ‘08. Turns out that you have to turn on the camera, wait for OS X pick it up as a USB storage device, and then hang tight for three or four minutes until iMovie detects that your USB storage device is actually a camcorder, and presents the import dialog. I’m glad that I can import native MPEG-2, but am somewhat puzzled by the delay.

  • Cannot import video from Canon Powershot G9

We just bought a Canon Powershot G9 and have had no trouble importing photos taken on it into our iPhoto (7.1.3). But we cannot import the video taken on the camera at all: every time we try iPhoto crashes and shuts as it starts the import process. We've saved the .avi files to a folder but even when playing them in VLC we get sound but no video. We're using iMac with OS 10.4.11.
Can anyone help in how to get the video from the G9 into iPhoto? We've also tried the Canon software and iMovie but neither worked.

    Hi Terence,
    Thanks for your promt response
I didn't move the file to the desktop because mp4s from my camera are imported by default to iphoto. Recently though, they have been corrupted or just not appearing at all in iphoto or anywhere else.
But I thought about it for a while and wondered if I could import them to (yes, you've guessed it) imovie HD!
I've gone for months looking everywhere for a solution to my problem, but not only was there no help in my mac, neither was the web any use. Consequently, I lost loads of precious little movies, (grandchildren, etc.) thinking the files were corrupt and not worth keeping.
You've obviously realised that I am not a computer geek, but thanks to 'lack of simple knowledge' being available on the net; thanks to you (indirectly) I managed to solve my problem.
I can't help wondering why on earth Apple doesn't admit that iphoto will 'baulk at importing anything that's too big', and simply suggest that newbies to Macs should import movies to imovie.
Thanks again for your clue to sorting out my problem.....now solved.

  • Cannot import video file from Canon Vixia hfs10 to imovie'11.

Hi this is my first post on this site.
I am having trouble trying to import video files from Canon Vixia hfs10 to imovie'11. The computer does not even recognize this camcorder. When I do a PC connection, iphoto comes up, but all it tells me to import are the pictures that I have taken.
No matter what I do, I cannot find the folder for my camcorder in the device section in the finder.
When I try to import it on imovie, I only get an option for facetime camera and not my vixia.
    Please help!

  • Cannot import video into LR4

But LR40 cannot import them - no preview , and when I import it says "There is problem with file". Tried reboot / quicktime update erc. No effect. LR3 can import and playback these files!
    Any help appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem - trying to add my video folder which has my mpg files and getting the same message.  I've seen many posts with people with similar issues but haven't seen any fixes - Adobe, please help!

  • Cannot import video edited on imovie app

Please help, im a pc user trying to import a video I have edited using imovie, i have exported it to my camera roll but it will not import when I use picasa or any other way you can import using a mass storage device on a pc, Ive tried everything, dragging and dropping from my computer. Any ideas??? by the way this is happening with two different iphones I own. cannot import any video edited with imovie

I believe the only way you can share a movie edited with iMovie on your phone is:
    * Email
    * MMS (multimedia message)
    * YouTube
    * MobileMe Gallery
If on a Mac, you can export your finished movies to the Camera Roll and then bring them into iMovie on your Mac.

  • BUG: Cannot import video - dynamiclinkmediaserver has encountered an error

I'm receiving this error in LR4.1 RC. I was also receiving it when LR4.0 was installed. It's on a mac.
    [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/DynamicLinkMediaServer1/main/shared/adobe/MediaCore/ASL/Foundat ion/Make/Mac/../../Src/DirectoryRegistry.cpp-283]
    How do I fix this?
I've tried to import video content from my 5d mark II and it will not import video.

If it works in a different user acoutn, and you don't want to change accounts, the question really becomes, what is different between the two accounts. The only two differences, as far as Adobe and Lightroom are concerned, are the application preferences and the catalog.
The preference files store the settings for the program. These files are created on first launch and are updated each  time you close the application with the current state of the settings. Each user account has their own copy of these files. If you delete these files, then on next launch a new default set of files are created. When you create a new user account and lauch Lightroom, a new default set of these files is created for this account. If you delete these files on your main account, then on the next launch of Lightroom, a new set will be created. So as far as these files are concerned, Lightroom will be the same on both user accounts.
The catalog stores information of the images you work with in Lightroom. Each user account also gets it's own catalog, which is created on first launch as well. If you create a new catalog on your main account, then this is another way you can force Lightroom to be the same on both accounts.
If making the preferences and the catalog the same on both accounts does not fix the behavior, this mean that the cause of the problem is coming from outside of Lightroom itself. The two main categories of where things could be going wrong from this point is third-party applications and permissions.
Third-party applications, just like Lightroom itself, can have settings that are unique, causing them to behave differently between different user accounts. These different behaviors can mean that on one account they behave in such a way as to interfere with another application like Lightroom. We don't know of any program in particular that could be causing this behavior, nor what setting within such an application would be the root cause. In cases like these it is simply best to shut everything off and test Lightroom in a clean enviorment (similar to testing Lightroom in a new user account).
Every file and folder on your computer has a set of permissions for what individual users and groups of users (and the applications being run by those users) are allowed to do, such as reading, writting, or deleting. It is possible that there is a difference between the permissions for your regular user account and the new user account (which gets default settings for all files and folders) that restricts Lightroom's ability to use/read files.

  • CANNOT IMPORT VIDEOS

Hi, I have downloaded some videos and converted them with Videora. When I roll over these files in one of my folders, they are "MP4 File"s. I have the "export converted videos to itunes) or whatever, that box is checked. When I try to import the video to iTunes, I get the little + icon, but when I drop it, absolutely nothing happens. No video anywhere in itunes. Nothing happens when I do "add file to library" option in the file menu in itunes. PLEASE HELP ME. I AM DESPERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because of the change in the "terms of use" of these forums, we can no longer discuss anything to do with importing video content into iTunes. Sorry.

  • Cannot import video from Canon ZR10 to iMovie '08

I have a Canon ZR10 mini-DV camcorder. My son is trying to import video to iMovie '08 and it does not seem to recognize the camera. I am using a 4-pin to 6-pin Firewire cable. When I turn on the camcorder, "DV In" appears on its screen so it seems to be in the proper mode to transfer video. However, iMovie doesn't do anything. I don't even get a blue screen. I tried File-->Import from Camera but that didn't so anything. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? He's very anxious to edit his movie! Thanks...

    Hello All,
I have been attacking this problem for a few hours and I have found that if you turn off and or make all network items inactive the camera will immediately be recognized by iMovie.
Took a long time to figure this out. Not sure why this is happening but it has fixed my problem.
Before this fix I would intermently get the camera and its memory sticks in the usb slot to recognize in iMovie.
Now all is well and works every time as long as I turn off or make things inactive
    Hope this works for you!

  • Audition cannot import video files.

I'm unable to open video files in my Audition because of the currently available importes. Dynamic Link Media server will not start up. With premiere I dont have this problem.
I hope someone can help me.
    Paul

They have to be MOV or M4V or MP4. Only then they will import.
Or you can try one of the available tools to import videos in iTunes. I use VideoDrive because it does not require reconversion. And supports cover art and metadata. www.aroona.net

  • I cannot import video clips when working with iMovie

I have a 13" Macbook Pro running Mavericks versión 10.9.4 but lately I do not know what happened since everytime I try to import video clips into my movie or trailer I am unable to get it. Those thumbnail are grey out, I can't drag them out into my project. Why ?

In Lion, one can select a video clip, go to finder services, and click on encode video...it will transcode the .mpg to something iMovie can handle. Far as I can tell, .mpg is not something iMovie likes to play with.

  • Cannot import video form Cannon ZR 850

    I have a MBP running tiger 10.4.10
I am trying to import video from a cannon zr850. I set to "play" like the instructions say and plug in the USB. nothing really happens. The imovie camera import only offers isight. Do I need to use firewire or do I need to set a camera profile?

You can only import from miniDV tapes using firewire.
