Cannot instal itunes x64, help !
Hi everyone.
I have a HUGE problem, I installed by mistake Itunes 32bits on my Windows Seven x64.
I uninstalled it, restarted the computer, installed itunes x64 aaaand.. it's always showed as Itunes.exe *32 in task manager (so it's still itunes 32bits :/)
I think that this "problem" is the source of several itunes freezes on my computer.
Any solutions ?

Itunes may have lost track of where your library .itl file resides or the file itself is corrupt.
I would read the following to start -

First try to load Itunes from your default library .itl file ( you might need to run find on your system). If that fails
you can try to restore that file from your backup to see if Itunes will read the older one.
I had a similar problem and could not restore library file. What I ended up doing is started with new Libary file (steps are in above doc) and then imported my itunes folder into the new itunes install. I ended up losing my playlists and playcount info. This was not a major issue for me as most of my playlists are smart-playlists so easily recreated.
I am sure there are other solutions more elegant but I did not have time and just wanted my library up and running. You can refer to this doc for playlist stuff.

I am attempting to install itunes 10.5 to my windows xp, while installing process takes place a message appears which reads; "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your personnel or package vendor." I have attempted to completely remove previous itunes and quicktime etc as well as disk clean ups however none of it has helped. Is anyone able to help me?
When you get this message you need to manually remove the Gear drivers before installing iTunes.

Error writting to file - Cannot install iTunes. Help!
I hope someone can help me. I've tried, multiple times, to install the latest iTunes but I keep getting the following message:
+"Error writting to file: c:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\etc\zoneinfo\America\Monterrey. Verify that you have access to that file."+
Does anyone know what this means? I'm running Windows Vista. I originally had iTunes 7.3 but needed the upgrade for iPod Nano. I have uninstalled it and removed the Mobile Device Support and Quicktime to try and reinstall everything but nothing it working.

I bought my ipod touch two days ago. But I cannot install iTunes on my pc.
I downloaded Itunes for x64 pc and I ran it as admin. So it starts and it stops ends the installation process and saying me -in italian language- "Si sono verificati errori prima che iTunes potrebbe essere configurato. Il sistema non è stato modificato". In english language it means: "Troubles occurred before iTunes could be set up".
I tried to delete "Temp" folder in appdata/local.
I'm a bit sad...I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

VivekIt will work with Windows 7 32 bit. On a 64 bit you will have to install Windows XP Mode. You can download it from the Microsoft Website. The XP Mode will run Windows XP in 32 bit. Microsoft has easy instructions on the download. One download at a time. Install the first download then the second download. You will have to copy your icon from all program and paste to the desktop if you are going to use it often.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.) -

Since October 2011 I cannot update iTunes when I receive an Apple UD notice (Win7Pro PC). I have also lost communication with my iPod Touch. In all cases I have attempted to download the latest version of iTunes. Yeasterday I uninstalled iTunes & Bonjour. I still cannot install iTunes. What can be done to allow iTunes to install?
If you want to do complete reinstall, please follow following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -
Cannot install itunes 11.1.3 to my windows vista home premium 32-bit. After it finishes the download that it verifies the file I get a message saying "this file cannot be downloaded". The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the above steps haven't helped try installing:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for a 32-bit core program, similar to previous 64-bit releases of iTunes.
Or roll back to:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
as appropriate.

I cannot install ITunes 10.6, my computer keeps blocking on it. At first I had problems with the upgrade, then I couldn't start iTunes anymore, so I had to uninstall it in orde to reinstall it again. However that doesn't work.
Everytime I run the installation process, it blocks my whole computer when I'm in about 3/4 of the install procedure; The only thing I can do is push the on/off button to turn my PC off...
I have an iPhone and would like to be able to synchronize my data... Can someone please help me with this...

Cannot install iTunes on windows 7 64bit
Okay, I like so many cannot install iTunes on Windows 7 64bit.
Now Orginally I got a message saying something to the effect of:
There was a problem with the install you do not have permission for something...
Through some investigating my iTunes was being installed and removing all my permissions to view and/or modify files within that folder. Even if I was logged in as admin and installed as admin all the permissions would simply block me out.
This kind of had a familar feeling as in the last few versions of iTunes I had to run as admin just to open it (this is really annoying by the way)
So I searched the net and many people were saying to uninstall everything "Apple" and try again. So I did that. Now I have this new message:
there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
And again I scoured the internet for a way to fix this. I apparently am supposed to goto Control Pannel/Programs and Features and select Apple Software Update and select repair. The problem is that no longer exists in my programs list since I removed it in the earlier step. iTunes still refuses to install spitting out the same error forever. I tried the Microsoft "fix it" tool which is supposed to remove the Apple Software Update incomplete uninstall (which is apparently the whole problem) but it doesn't show up in the list for "fixing".
I am at a loss. Why doesn't Apple fix this. I cannot update my iPhone to the latest software in fear I may need to restore it. With no iTunes that is impossible. I cannot change any of my music or do anything until this is resolved. If/when iPhone 5 comes out I cannot get it either unless this issue is taken care of somhow.
I searched for an installer for just the Apple Software Update program But it seems to not exist as a standalone thing (it would be useful if it were though). If it were perhaps I could install it again and then successfully remove/repair it and iTunes might install finally.
Now I have had previous versions of iTunes working perfectly fine. I do not recall which version I was using before I tried to update and fell into this abyss however.Yes b noir. I've tried running just "iTunes64.msi" from the command-line and while it didn't produce the same error "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vender." it produced a different error in bold-type "iTunes Installer Completed" then "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured...Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified...Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit". However, I discovered a wealth of options from the Windows Installer to try after typing "iTunes64.msi passive"...So I'll experiment some more when I have time.
P.S. I'm becoming more convinced that Apple is putting new software out there to get it debugged which was a trick that MicroSoft always seemed to do:-)
