Cannot install Acrobat Pro (X or XI) on new Macbook Pro
Sorry if I may be repeating a previous discussion, but I've not been able to install Acrobat Pro (either X which I had on my old machine, or the XI update which I just purchased to go on my new machine). I'm running a Macbook Pro on Mavericks (10.9.2).
When I try to install the software, it proceeds to the point of "Running Package Scripts" and stalls there. Reviewing other threads, I've repaired my disk permissions on several occasions to no avail on the install.
Note that an Apple tech worked with me to determine if there were any challanges on the Mac end, and he wasn't able to do the install either, including attempting the install from my root drive.
Any advice and help (particularly if you've had success with this issue) is very appreciated.

Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for: Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion. -

Dell's drivers are only for Windows. If you can find out who makes the printer and what model it is, then you may be able to find OS X drivers for it. Or you can see how well it works using the Generic driver.

Do you have your system backed up to Time Machine? If so, you can open your user Library and copy your Mail folder from Time Machine to your Desktop on your new machine; then copy THAT folder to your new machine's user Library.
To get to your user Library, open Finder and Go and press the Option key. Library will show up. Click on it to get into your user Library. Now go into Time Machine and you should see your user Library for Time Machine. Restore the Mail folder to your Desktop. -
I have a CC subscription and had it loaded on my Mac and my old MacBook pro. I bought a new macbook pro and turned off CC on my old laptop but when I try to load it on the new one it keeps saying I already have it activated on two devices. Help!

I'm trying to install my HP Color LaserJet 2600n (USB) to my new macbook pro with Yosemite ? It detects the printer but when I try to install it, I get the message error : "Can't download the software because of a network problem."
I tried to install the software via the HP website. It's not working.

You purchased a boxed set, or a download? If it's a box set, look at the box for the license number. If a download, it will have been emailed to you.

Just purchased new MacBook Pro (OS 10.9) but not sure how to make it work with my Epson SX435W printer. I went to the Epson website to download drivers, they download but when I click on them it says 'cannot be opened because it is an unidentified developer'?!?
Any advice?

New Install of Lightroom 3.5 on brand new MacBook Pro Hangs on launch
I received my new MacBook Pro last week, and I installed Lightroom 3.5 promptly. I launched the software and was able to enter my serial number and inport some photos without problem. I have been trying to launch Lightroom for the past 2 days and it displays the splash screen and then stops repsonding. There are no periphials attached to my MacBook at this time. I uninstalled the application, then reinstalled again. Same thing. Any suggestions???
MikeLook for a file ending in .lock next to your catalog (the .lrcat file). LR creates such a file to keep more than one user from using the catalog at a time and possibly corrupting it. If LR does not close normally, the .lock file is left behind and blocks you from opening LR. If you find that file, delete it. Do not delete the other files such as .lrcat or .journal. If that doesn't work, come back and let us know.

Cannot launch any Macromedia Studio 8 apps on new MacBook Pro
I've just migrated everything over to my new MacBook Pro from my old Powerbook. So far so good ... until I went to use Dreamweaver. I might see it bounce in the dock for less than a second and then it disappears - no error messages or anything. Ditto for other Studio 8 apps. I've tried installing an updater, I've tried reinstalling everything from scratch - the same thing happens for both.
I've switched the activation over to this new machine for the Adobe CS (which all works fine other than Version Cue) so wonder if this is the issue, but I can't see where this can be done for Studio 8 apps and according to the licence I can have them installed on two machines anyway, provided I don't use them at the same time.
According to the document Adobe have about support for Intel-based Macs these apps should work - even if with some issues with slowness. But not for me!
Any help would be very much appreciated.Thanks for that. So I just tried to repair disk permissions - there was nothing to repair and I'm still having the same problem. Also verified the disk to see if anything came up - all looks to be fine.
According to Adobe the Macromedia apps should work with Intel Macs, just that they might be quite slow. Plus I've done some digging around and found reference to others running them okay.
I've also just tried running a game to see what that would do. It's also old - Sim City 4 - but I've also read others saying it's slow, but definitely works on Intel Macs. However, for me it shows the same behaviour as the Macromedia apps - won't even start to load.
I've contacted Macromedia for support now. Will post here if I get anywhere, but if anyone has other suggestions, they'd be gratefully received! -
It's driving me crazy; I have a firewire, but it isn't compatible with the ports on the new macbook pro with retina display.

Power up the Power Mac G4 and hold the "T" key while it is booting (this puts the G4 notebook in Firewire Target Disk mode). Connect the G4 notebook to the newer MacBook Pro and use the Migration assistant (/Applications/Utilities) OR browse through the files and copy what you want. -
Macbook pro 2.2 MHZ versus new Macbook pro.
I just started doing some video editing and my computer seems very, very slow for the first time. Never had a problem doing big files in Photoshop. I was thinking of buying one of the new Macbook pro but then realized that the MHZ has only increased to 2.6 to 3MHZ. I can only afford the 2.6, would the upgrade be worth it? How much faster would these new Macbook be?
You wouldn't notice a real lot of difference from 2.2 to 2.6. I would troubleshoot your unit and find out why it is running slower.
How full is your hard drive?
