Cannot Install Acrobat Standard XI

Last month I installed a 30 day free trial of Acrobat professional.  Now I just purchased Acrobat Standard XI and I am having issues with the Install.  I get an error message " Setup has detected that you already have a more functional prodcut installed.  Setup will not terminate."  Does anyone have solution to my problem?

What happens if you launch the Acrobat XI Pro trial and enter your Acrobat XI Standard serial number?

  • Failing to install Acrobat standard 7 on Windows 8.1

I am trying to install Acrobat Standard 7 from a cd onto a new pc with windows 8.1
It gets to the point where it says its installing it but nothing progresses after that.
Is windows 8.1 compatible with this old version of acrobat?
I dont want to buy a newer version as I am retired and only really need to  use it occasionally now

    Hi ProfKVal,
Acrobat Standard 7 has not been tested with Windows 8.1, so it is not compatible.
If you use it only to view PDFs then you can download the Adobe Reader which is a free PDF viewer.

  • I am trying to re-install Acrobat Standard 9 on new laptop.  Only Acrobat Pro 9 available on Web download.  How can I re-download 9?

I am trying to re-install Acrobat Standard 9 on a new laptop.  I have the correct serial number, but when I try to download from the Adobe website only Acrobat Pro 9 will download and it states my serial number is incorrect.  How to resolve?

You can search the forum for where they have indicated use by PM. That is what I would have to do also. The other option is to wait and see if one of them drops by and will give it to you. Probably a long wait.
In the meantime, try Adobe Acrobat X (10) Pro, Reader, and Suite Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools. The link is down about 4 screens.

I have to re-install acrobat standard 9 becaus of 'unable to extend license procedure (148:3)'. Where can I download? Or better to upgrade to XI (what is the price and how to do this)

    Hi riffpizcy,
Error 148:3 is a licensing error.
Try following the steps mentioned in the KB: Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Windows
You can download Acrobat 9 Std. from: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/8d640488-4a92-4f7d-b50b-d8eb7f96bff8
You can upgrade from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat 11 Pro at $199 USD
Please refer: Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro  for more information.

  • Uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat standard

If I uninstall Adobe Acrobat Standard and re-install it using the same serial number will that cause an issue? Do I have to unregister the serial number before unistalling it? It is on a windows 7 OS and it is Acrobat Standard verison X or XI.
    Thank you

Before reinstalling, I would first do a repair and then update. AA Xi is currently at 11.0.06. The repair and updates may fix the problem. As I understand it, Chrome does it own think for PDFs and the Adobe plugin does not work with the newer version of Chrome (at least not without the updates). It may be a Chrome issue and the updates might fix some of the issues.
If you do reinstall, be sure to deactivate and then use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html before continuing. Keep in mind that Reader and Acrobat often leave a part running for fast startup. That might be closed in the task list (do not stop AcroTray that is required for the Adobe PDF printer to function correctly).

  • Cannot install Acrobat X Pro. AAM says "installed" - but no sign of the "Launch app" option.

The Adobe Application Manager states Acrobat X Pro is installed but there is no "Launch App" option.
I have succesfully installed Ai, Ps and Id, but Acrobat X Pro is giving me a headache!
The app installed with a warning and 2 errors. (I did not save the text about this event - and I cannot repeat the operation that led me there,)
I can recall some detail from the text:
    • The installer could not remove data from an (old?) file from my Acrobat 9 installation.
    • There was a reference to the installer "lacking permission(s)" for some operation.
    • Also, some reference to my computer not supporting several "requirements".
I have since uninstalled my Acrobat 9 installation, but cannot uninstall Acrobat X Pro. (It is not listed under "Programs & Features".)
I also cannot re-install Acrobat X Pro - the AAM won't let me.
Any ideas? Can I download a trial-copy, then try to install that? Would it be recognized by the AAM?

Thank you, Baljeet - that worked well - However, the now installed Acrobat X Pro version 10,1.1.33 apparently needs a update/patch to upgrade Acrobat to vs. 10.1.3, and after much effort and many forum-suggested fixes, I cannot complete the update. (It "rolls-back" and reports an Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\2c4f05.rbf. Verify.......access to that directory.")
I have also received the same ("1310") error, but referencing a lack of sufficient "permission to modify....a certain file". (I can't now recall which file.)
To further complicate matters, my Secunia P.S. Inspector app also reported the need for an update - which did not complete either. It is now perpetually "Waiting for update to complete".
I hope you can solve this problem too! Thanks.
