Cannot install Adobe Acrobat X Pro on Windows Vista ultimate

Here are additional Details:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5450 @1,66GHz 1,67 GHz
Memory(RAM): 2046 MB
System type: 32-bit Operating System
Is anything possible?
Which version of Adobe Acrobat would you recommend?

Hi Zurab,
It sounds like you might not have SP2 installed for WIndows Vista.  http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html
Acrobat 9 did not require any Vista Service packs to be installed.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows Vista Ultimate will not load/update

Costing me hours of my billable time, ADOBE strikes again. i have uninstalled, updated(9.4.2 - which says Acrobat is not on my computer, though it is), i cannot get Acrobat to work. it gives me the error that i need to open Photoshop because it is part of a suite. photoshop, illustrator all have been opened but A9 will still not load.
    any thoughts.

The subscription I bought allows me to go online and use Acrobat XI Pro without having it installed on my machine. It works okay, but I'd rather have the software installed on my desktop.
I guess I didn't read the product information closely enough.  I can use the online service no problem with my Vista machine, but I can't download the software onto it so that I can use the program on my desktop.
I did successfully download the software to a Windows 7 notebook on the same network.  It downloaded without a hitch and it works fine.
The subscription allows me two downloads - one to a desktop and one to a portable machine.  I suppose I'll have to upgrade my desktop to Windows 7 or 8.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Error 1935 while installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Std - Windows

    Hi,
This seems to be an issue with the Windows Modules Installer service. Please try the below steps and check if that works:
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
Double Click on the Windows Modules Installer Service, it will open the Windows Modules Installer Service Properties window.
Under General Tab on the top make sure the Service Name is "TrustedInstaller", Also make sure that "Startup type" is set to Manual - then hit the "Apply" button at the bottom right and then there is an option which says :- "Service Status", if its "Stopped", kindly make sure you click on Start Button just below it and then hit OK button.
Close all the windows and Restart/Reboot your machine and then check again to the same location did the changes you made appear or not ?
Try installing the application again and then check the issue.
**If it do not helps you then also try the mentioned steps**
Make sure that the latest version of Microsoft .NET framework (4.5 x64) is installed. [Location: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40773]
Then check the permission for these folders :C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe and C:\Program Files\Adobe, user should have access to write files to these folders.
Then delete the temp files present in the TEMP Folder [Start > Run > %temp% > OK]
    Disable Anti-Spyware and Antivirus Software.
Run Acrobat installer through command line using the following command: msiexec /i acropro.msi patch=<path of msp file> IGNOREAAM=1

Generally you have to be the administrator and have anti-virus disabled during install. However, the error you listed is addressed by MS for some other products in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902330.

    Hi,
This link has the minimum system requirements for Acrobat 10 Pro : Acrobat X Pro Tech Specs
On Windows XP, the minimum requirement is SP3 for 32 bit. I would recommend that you update to SP3 by running Windows Update and then reinstall the application.

    Best,
    James.

you cannot use your pc license to install on a mac.  you would need a separate license (and serial number) for that.
adobe allows platform swaps, but only with the latest (xi) version, Order product | Platform, language swap
your option to use acrobat on a mac are to upgrade to acrobat pro xi and change platforms, use a windows emulator (parallels/boot camp etc) on your mac or swap with a third party.

  • Problems Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro via CreativeCloud

    Hi,
I am having difficulty in installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro onto my Windows Vista SP2 machine, via the Creative Cloud platform.  The Adobe Application Manager has installed, and whenever I look through the application list Adobe Acrobat XI Pro is not in there (despite me paying for the year subscription).  Secondly, when attempting to download via the web interface of CreativeCloud the Adobe Application Manager gets brought into view, but still the application does not install or download - and does not present me with any error messages.
    Thoughts please?

    Hi PrepetrolLtd,
Acrobat XI is not recommended for windows Vista and that is the reason it wont show up in Adobe Application Manager.

  • Running Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on Windows 7. Have original disc and S/N. Won't run...

Trying to run my older Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on Windows 7. Have original disc and S/N. Won't run...

I was able to install the program on my computer. (Only glitch was that it asked for a .dll file for Vista which I'm not running.
I was able to activate the program ok.  When I try to convert any MS Office document to .pdf, it appears to start the process but just doesn't actually produce a .pdf file.  No error message or anything...

  • Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro from CD and set up asks to insert disk

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat XI Pro from a CD.  I insert the CD and I follow the set up wizard until I get to the point of installing the software and it gives me the option to "Update".  I click this button and it begins to install but then a window appears with a message instructing me to insert the disc.  I already have the disc inserted so I click the "OK" button, but the window will not go away and the installation does not continue.  If I click the "Cancel" button then it tells me that the installation was interrupted.  What do I need to do to get past this?

The problem was probably the trial version. Since you already had Acrobat installed, the installer did not know what to do. All you needed to do was open the trial version and activate it and you would have been done. The route you took is fine, but takes longer. Glad you found a solution that worked for you. If you have problems, your first step should be to do a repair and not a reinstall. That seems to come up a fair amount and thought you might find the repair aspect useful.

  • I just installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro...

I just installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, student Licensing, and it seems to be installed on my c-drive. But I can't recognize any of the files to launch this program. I haven't been asked for a password, which I received, and if anyone can help me figure out which file in this folder I use to launch this, I would appreciate the help.

No, it doesn't show up on my start menu. All I have are folders on my c-drive, there is a folder called Adobe Acrobat XI Pro...when I click to open that folder, there are 2 folders at the top, one is called "Adobe Acrobat XI", which contains 2 folders called "Transforms" and "VC10rT_x64, then below is a setup.exe file. I cannot find a file to launch this application that I bought yesterday.

    Hi jurleana15722686,
Are you working with a subscription version or perpetual (where you bought the software outright)? Are you running into a particular problem or receiving an error message when you try to activate?
For starters, please check out this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html.
If you're still having trouble, please let us know what the exact issue is, including any error messages that you're receiving. It would also be helpful to know what version of Windows you're using.
    Best,
    Sara
