Cannot install Adobe Flash...at all!

I have seen many different versions of this question asked...nothing seems to fit my situation.  I have tried all of the troubleshooting techniques.  Nothing seems to work.
I am operating a MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.4 with Firefox 31.0 (default browser) and Safari 7.0.6.
I have been prompted to update Adobe Flash multiple times over the past few months, but I can't!  I have tried using both browsers.  I have tried with Firewall on AND off.  I have tried at different times during the day AND evening.  I have tried uninstalling Adobe Flash altogether, including the plug-in.  Nothing.  I have tried the offline installer.  To no avail.  I have tried every suggestion and route out there, and have come up with a big fat ZERO.
So, now I have no Flash at all, and it refuses to download whatsoever.  I'm talking 0% with the spinning beach ball of death until it just quits with a download error.
WHAT THE H*LL DO I HAVE TO DO?!?!?!  I'm dying here!

Hi Mark,
Thank you for posting the screenshots.  They're helpful.  I apologize for the installation issues you're having using the online installer.  I'd like to get the install log file for the online installer, however, this requires running the installer from the Terminal.  If you're comfortable running apps from the Terminal, we'd really appreciate it if you could provide the log file (instructions below).  If not, and you just want to get Flash Player installed (totally understandable), a link to the help page that contains the offline installer is posted below.
To obtain the online installer log file:
Download the online installer from get.adobe.com/flashplayer and save it to the desktop
Mount the DMG (double-click the downloaded file) and extract Install Adobe Flash Player.app to a local folder (e.g. desktop)extract by clicking on the .app and dragging it onto the Deskop (or some other folder)
Open LaunchPad and in the top search window type Terminal, click the app icon to open the Terminal application
In Terminal, change directories to where Install Adobe Flash Player.app is saved to (step 2), type: cd <location to file in step 2>
e.g. If Install Adobe Flash Player.app is saved to the desktop, type: cd /Users/labuser/Desktop, where 'labuser' is your user ID.
At the prompt, type:
./Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player.app/Contents/MacOS/Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player -debug - file
When prompted, enter the password you use to log in to your machine
Go back to back to the location where Install Adobe Flash Player.app is saved to (step 2)
Right-click on Install Adobe Flash Player.app and select Show Package Contents
In the window that displays, navigate to Contents/MacOS
Obtain the host.develop.log file.
Post the contents of the host.develop.log file here in your response, or share the file following the How to share a document instructions.
The link to download the offline installer is posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac help page.

I cannot install adobe flash onto my mac, whenever the installation box appears it asks for a password! I have entered my apple ID password and any other password I use, but still no joy! Any advice?

Exactly where are you getting your Flash from? It is quite free from the maker, no password needed.

However, if you fell for a trap and were lured into a fake site to rob you of your Apple ID credentials, I suggest you change your passwords immediately.

  • Cannot Install Adobe Flash Player 11

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11 onto a my computer but it just goes to 95% and locks up.
I am using Windows XP Pro- version 5.1, service pack 3
    Enternet Explorer 8- version 8.0.6001.187.02
The computer had a working copy of Adobe Flash 10X and Adobe Air on it.  When I could not get the Player 11 to install (went to 95% then locked).  I tried to un-install both the Flash 10X and Air, but they would not un-install (sent auto. error reports to microsoft).  So I used a pro un-installer program to uninstall them both, but the un-installer could not delete the "windows/system32/atmfd.dll" file.  Tried to un-install the atmfd.dll file manually but only get the "cannot delete atmfd: Access denied" error.
I have tried clearing all my browser cookies, history, ect., stop my anti-viruse program, ran a register repair program, and re-booting my computer, then running the Adobe Flash Un-install Program (which always shows that the fash program is completly un-installed) and re-running the Adobe Flash 11 install program again.
Same thing, the installer goes to 95% and locks up to the point that the only way to stop the installer program is to reboot my computer.
What can I do to get this Adobe Flash 11 installed, as since I removed the old Flash 10X program I no longer have any Adobe Flash?  Which I do need.

Ok, here is what I had to do to get the Adobe Flash 11 to install.
    (1. Run the Adobe un-install program from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
    (2. Go in c:/windows/system32 and delete the Macromedia folder
    (3. Run a register repair program to fix any register errors.
(4 Go in c:/Documents and Settings/Application Data and delete the Macromedia folder
(5 Go in c:/Documents and Settings/Application Data/Adobe and delete the Flash Player folder
(6 Go to Adobe.com and run the standard Adobe Flash 11 install program (the offline installer's at the Adobe site listed above would not run after I deleted the Documents and Settings/Application Data folders, for some reason)
(7 When it got to Finish, allow it to auto. open a CMD screen and then answered Y to both questions.
This is how I got it to complete the install and not lock up at 95%.  For some reason the Adobe un-install program was not removing the Documents and Settings Adobe Flash Player programs and these are what were locking up the install program.

i cannot install the adobe fash player 10 on my windows xp, the promblem is not installing it the problem is the player taking effect. i have downloaded the player both the plugin and activeX, but after i install them i go to youtube.com search up a video, the screen for the video says to get a turn on java and get a newer version of flash player. i did all the security things in troubleshooting all what i needed but nonthing, i have uninstalled and installed over and over, all i need to do is this to vvach all my videos, and the compture went throught a cleane up a few days ago 215 viruses removed and all the updates, java, ect. was removed, i have goten all of them back except flash player, i tryed to install 8 then 9 then 10 but nonthing, please if you can help me help me please, thank you.

    ok, our posts crossed.
The first thing you need to do is remove the Google and Yahoo Tool bars. After you have successfully installed Flash Player 10, then you can decide if you want to add them back.
You say you are running with add ons disabled, but the status is enabled? Please explain.
The latest Uninstaller and Installer will both be downloaded directly to your desktop and not from where you downloaded before.
This is the lastest way that Adobe has suggested that will have a better degree of success.
Just a FYI... The Adobe forum here is going to be shut down starting at 8PM Pacific Time for 2 hours. They have an announcement up but just thought I would mention it in case you didn't see it.
Since Uninstalling & Installing may take some time, you may want to wait until tomorrow to start it, since the site here will be down for awhile.
Just clarify the add on info, though.
    Thanks

  • Cannot install Adobe Flash plugin--FAQ no help

Installation instructions in FAQ are no longer current at Adobe's download site. Downloaded correct version of Flash and ran install program. Program knew it was installing in FF and asked that I shut off FF. Did so and program ran, saying install completed, but plugin does not appear in list and cannot run speedtest.net, which asks for v.10 of Flash.

You have a current version of Adobe Flash installed. Look in Add-ons > Plugins. The current version is Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.26. Adobe's latest Flash does not show the last 2 digits when the plugins are shown in your posting (click "More system details..." to the right of your original question, scroll to the bottom and look for Shockwave Flash).

    <br />
'''You need to update the following.''' The Plugin version(s) shown below was/were submitted with your question and is/are out of date. You should update to avoid known security issues with the version(s) you have installed. Click on "More system info..." to the right of your question to see what was included with your question.

  • Cannot install Adobe flash player. the 'get+"installer keeps saying it cannot pass the integrity test.

have win xp, latest versions of firefox and adobe' flash player. It works on the Explorer, but firefox calls for a missing plugin. When I try to download it, keep getting the "failed integrity test" message from the "get plus downloader". I tried all recommended remedies, including reinstalling firefox - nothing works.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

Getplus is Adobe's download manager (Adobe DLM). Try downloading the installer and installing it yourself to see if you can get it.

  • Ongoing problem with flash player and FF..cannot install adobe Flash 11 with FF 16

    I have tried everything.
I cannot install any Adobe flash product
I was using Flash 10 and suddenly it stopped working.
this happened before..several times in fact.
I delete and re install but this tim it still crashed.
so I decided to try Flash 11... windows 8 won't even let me run the installer.
when I try to install it as a FF plug in it fails.
sends me to do it manually.
manually means using the installer program which Windows 8 won,t let me run
    I am stuck.
Is there an alternative to adobe flash player?
because I am tired of this.
if there is no alternative, then I will fins another browser.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
