Cannot install Adobe Reader on Windows 7 Home Premium

The download is not a problem. I have tried the fixes on the Adobe page and through Google Search. Help!
The installation gives this error at about 97% complete:
Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.

There are many error messages that we see posted day after day in this forum, but yours is definitely a new one - I have never seen that before!  My first reaction: it may have been a fluke; reboot and try the install again.
But I suspect that you have already tried that; with the same result?
Can you try if the MSI installer works better: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi (Reader 11.0.0, US-English version).

    Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to install Adobe Reader X on my computer but everytime it finishes the download and I click on the run, the cursor will have the circle next to it saying that it is loading but it will eventually stop and nothing will happen.
My computer is a Sony Vaio running on Windows 7 32-bit.
    Please help!
I need this in order to print out information for my classes!

    Can you try installing from:

  • Cannot install Adobe Reader on Windows 7 machine

I have tried numerous times to install Adobe 9.3.3 on my windows 7 machine, but it will not.  Here is what I have done
Through Firefox - installed the plugin (had to do it manually because it would not recognize the application that needed to open the xpi plugin)
let the installation run until completion and clicked the green completion button
tried to open a pdf, but it could not find the application needed.
I went to program files, and it was not completely installed.
i tried to download the read exe and run it manually.  Again, it looked like it was completed, but would not open pdfs
I tried all of this through IE, with the same results
I tried to uninstall all the Adobe products I could find, including flash, but this did not help
I rebooted multiple times throughout this process, but that did not help.
Why won't Adobe install on my computer?

This can be horribly frustrating, I am so familiar with your issue.  However, with a little time, you might be able to get to the root of it.  For what it's worth, I've found that very few companies "online" are easy to reach with regard to issues like this.  I hate to say the Apple word, but need I say more?  If you have an iphone, then not much compares to that recent mess....
In any case, for me, this update problem seems to happen with every big launch of software or update that comes out and then all of my settings, throughout my system locally and globally have to be corrected.
I've gone through this twice of recent, and it took me a LOT of patience, and a few days to really get it handled.  Perhaps because I'm slow, and can't remember where all of the settings are that require attention, or maybe just can't seem to stop whatever project I'm on at the time to really deal with the update properly.  The best advice I can give is to set aside the time (a couple of hours) to focus and troubleshoot from the beginning and avoid multi-tasking when trying to resolve this.
Please look over the forum as many people have resolved their issues with a few tips. I resolved my issue by first removing everything and cleaning up remaining remnant files, then downloading the appropriate programs (flash/reader, etc.), then hunting down the folder where it was loaded (mine was in my temp file as the download manager didn't work), then clicking the exe. file to open and run.  Also, my security software was causing conflict for me too (that included browser and virus).  I ended up having several downloads sitting in files that I had to clean up because I wasn't sure if I was installing at first, so check that.  Other things include clearing your cache, and registry (if you need help, visit Microsoft.com/answers forum....another responsive company) and making sure you do a clean install.
And, just for the record, that probably wasn't the most appropriate choice of reply from the moderator to you, but I still do believe that this product is definitely worth spending the time to fix.  Adobe has made working in my field 1000 times more efficient and enjoyable!!  Once you get it running, you'll be glad you did.

  • Cannot print adobe reader on windows7 home premium

    tried printing as image -
disable protected  mode at start up
using old adobe reader worked and also if I save files to usb or send them to hubbys pc it will print so its not the files or my printer that is the issue -
thank you for your help in advance.

What Reader XI version are you using?  If less than 11.0.10, update to that version & try again.

I cannot install adobe reader on window XP

    What exactly means "cannot"?
Try running the cleaner tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

i cannot install adobe reader. I get so far and get the message "Error 1324. All folders or the volume is invalid. Please enter it again" can you help?

We need to know if any registry settings are causing this error.  Please follow these instructions:
from Windows Start | Search: type regedit and hit Enter; you will see a window like this
now click on the little arrow ▹ left from HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Next click the arrow ▹ beside Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Explorer, then click on User Shell Folders
all entries on the right side should start with %USERPROFILE%
If you have anything different, this may be the cause for the install failure.
Now you need to repeat the same thing for another key:
    ▹ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ▹ Software ▹ Microsoft ▹ Windows ▹ CurrentVersion ▹ Explorer ▹ User Shell Folders
Here all entries should start with %PUBLIC% or %ProgramData%.  If you have anything different, this may also be the cause for the install failure.

  • I cannot install adobe reader into my mac this is the message it tells me to open license agreement and press ok.. and close it then reopen.. i've done this dozen times already

i cannot install adobe reader into my mac.. i get the message to open license agreement and select yes and click it closed

The free Rader does not require a license. Could it be that Mac OS is asking you for the password of your Mac? Or that you are required to launch Reader (open your Applications folder and doble click on the Reader icon) to accept the licence agreement? Please be as specific as you can.

  • I cannot install Adobe Reader 10.1.04 on my Windows Vista computer

I've been unable to install Adobe Reader on my Windows Vista (SP1) 32-bit Toshiba laptop, and would really appreciate some help.
Here's the error message I get:
Error 1402. Could not open key: UNKNOWN\.api\AcroExch.Plugin\ShellNew. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
Here's a brief history of what I've already tried:
    # 1 - Downloaded AdbeRdr1014_en_US.exe as a stand alone file multiple times from different servers and sites.
    # 2 - Uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.0
    # 3 - Ran AdbeArCleaner.exe multiple times to remove ANY perious verions of Acrobat and/or Reader.
    # 4 - Opened each of my 4 browsers, latest verions of IE, Opera, Firefox, and Chrome, searched for Plugins and/or Add Ons and removed ANY Adobe related apps except Flash.
    # 5 - Opened the Control Panel, Programs, searched for and removed ANY versions of Acro Quick Reader or Quick Writer.
    # 6 - Ran Norton Utilities Clean Registry multiple times.
    # 7 - When trying to install Reader 10.1.04 I had PREVIOUSLY received this error message:
Error 1402.Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\AcroExch.Document\Shell\Open\Command. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
However, after using Adobe Cleaning Tool, I no longer got this error.
    # 8 - I also disabled my A-V Program during all installation attempts, Kaspersky PURE 2.0.
The reason that I wanted to update to Adobe Reader 10 was that Kaspersky did a vulnerability check which indicated:
    "Adobe Reader/Acrobat Multiple Vulnerabilities"
    See: http://www.securelist.com/en/advisories/47133/?function=advisories&VN=47133
Solution was to update to version 10.1.2 (or higher).
Now I can't open any .PDF files. I can't find the so-called Plugin which is causing the installation to stop. The installation of Reader 10.1.04 gets to around 96% complete, then fails and rolls back.
    # 9 - Is there an easy fix, such as a tool that will autyomatically remove any relevant registry key, or apply the correct administrative attributes to the registry keys? If not, can you please talk me through this step by step. I've never been so stumped or frustrated performing a software upgrade, what I thought would be a simple task.
THANKS in advance for your help which is much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Ecto

    Hi Pat,
I feel like I'm falling deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, operating in an area in which I am totally unfamiliar. I know a great deal about computers, but that still leaves me ignorant about many other things.
I had previously downloaded subinacl.msi in my research on Vista permissions and the inability to install Reader 10.1.04. In Vista, Windows Installer is a Service, not a program. I don't even understand what that means. I had previously tried changing the file extension of subinacl.msi to subinacl.exe but that didn't work. Then I looked for an EXE version of the file. No luck with that. Your pointing me to http://weblogs.asp.net/rternier/archive/2007/02/01/how-to-install-msi-files-on-vista.aspx was helpful up to a point. The post assumed I would know what to do with the bat file template:
    "C:\Windows\System32\msiExec.exe -i  C:\Users\rternier\Documents\Downloads\tfpt.msi"
I changed it to the following:
    C:\Windows\System32\msiExec.exe -i  C:\Users\aecolkercpa\Downloads\subinacl.msi
PLEASE NOTE: I store and run all downloaded installation files from the directory C:\Users\aecolkercpa\Downloads\
Usually, after installing a program from an installation file I will delete the installation file, unless there is a problem installing the application. In that case, I save the installation file until the problem is resolved.
Also, I am not sure if the first phrase in the BAT file I created is correct,
    C:\Windows\System32\msiExec.exe -i
I called the file Install MSI.bat and ran as administrator.
I clicked on Accept the warranty terms, and the msi file began to be installed. Then I got a blue screen error BAD_POOL_HEADER with lots of text messages on it. I had to reboot. When I rebooted, Windows asked if I wanted to search for a solution online to the shut down, and gave me this report:
"Troubleshoot a problem with your antivirus software
A problem related to your antivirus software caused your computer to shut down unexpectedly to protect itself from data corruption or loss.
To try to solve this problem, follow these steps. One step might solve the problem, but if it doesn't, then go on to the next step.
    Update your antivirus software
Missing antivirus software updates could be the cause of your computer's problem. To make sure your antivirus is up to date, follow these steps:
Click to open Microsoft Security Center.
    Click Malware protection.
If your software needs to be updated, click Update now.
If Windows can detect your antivirus software, it will be listed under Virus protection.
If your antivirus software is not displayed in Windows Security Center, go to the downloads section of your antivirus software provider’s website. Find the update for your version of the software and your operating system, and then install it. For more information, check the Help for your antivirus software.
Most antivirus software updates are free, but some providers charge a small fee for the updates. If you're using an older version of the software, you might also have to pay to upgrade to a more recent version to continue to receive the updates.
Check for multiple antivirus programs running on your computer
Running two antivirus software programs on your computer at the same time is not recommended because the two programs can interfere with each other. Even if you don't think your computer could be running two antivirus programs, antivirus software can sometimes come bundled with your computer and it might be running without your knowledge. To check if two antivirus programs are running, follow these steps:
Click the Start button , right-click Computer, and then click Manage.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the left pane, double-click Services and Applications, and then click Services.
Look at the list of services under the Name column. If you find two antivirus programs, right-click each service associated with one of the programs, and then click Stop. Note that there may be multiple services running for one antivirus program.
    Contact the antivirus manufacturer
If you've completed the previous steps, we recommend you contact the antivirus manufacturer directly for additional support."
Since I was unsure how to parse the BAT file, it probably contained errors, which may be the reason behind the blue screen crash. Should I have moved the bat file and the subinacl.msi file to the Windows/System32 directory before running it? To a different location than the download directory?
At this point I'm rather burned out. Perhaps 50+ hours of my time have gone into trying to install a simple program, Adobe Reader 10.1.04. I would love to succeed, but I think my lack of comprehension is making it even more difficult than it might otherwise be. Instead, I'm becoming more and more confused and frustrated by all these detours and additional issues.
Is it possible Pat to arrange for you to have remote login access to my machine using Go to My PC or some other application, so that you can hands on accomplish in perhaps 5 minutes, what might take me 5 more weeks (or months) to get done?
I feel we are close to solving this puzzle, but it keeps on slipping away.
Please let me know your thoughts, and thanks as always for your help.
    Cheers,
    Joel

  • Error 1500 - windows 8 - cannot install adobe reader

    Hello everyone,
I have a new computer with windows 8 and tried to install adobe reader. During installation an error occured (1500) specifying that another installation is in progress. I tried through the simple installer and the one from the page http://get.adobe.com/pl/reader/completion/?installer=Reader_11.0_Polish_for_Windows. In both I get the same message. No need to mention that I am not installing anything else. As for the anti-virus programme I just noticed that my trial subscription is over so probably it is not the problem - the McAfee is not running (?). Could you please help me with this problem?

    Hi pati-wiewiorka,
Follow the steps mentioned in http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-1704-or-1500-install.html
    Thanks!

  • Problems installing Adobe Reader in Windows 8.1

I keep getting an error when trying to install Adobe Reader that says it cannot stop wsearch. I tried to stop windows search manually via task manager, and it wouldn't let me stop it either. Any way to get around this so I can install the Reader.

  • Cannot install Adobe Reader 9

    Hello,
I have problem to install Adobe 9 on two Terminal Server.
Windows 2003 French R2 SP2 with Office 2003 and all Microsoft Updates.
Previous version of Adobe Reader was 8.1.3.
When I install Adobe Reader 9, I have this error message (translated from french):
"Program have not enough rights to access folder: c:\document and settings\all users\application data\adobe\acrobat\9.0. Impossible to install.
Open an administrator session or contact your system administrator."
Of course I'm Domain Admin. And I have access to the folder.
I have try to manually create the folder 9.0 in c:\document and settings\all users\application data\adobe\acrobat\ and it gives me the error:
"Error when creating the folder "c:\document and settings\all users\application data\adobe\acrobat\".
I test with an other admin account, and with the "run as" command, same problem.
I have test Adobe Reader 9 in english: same error:
"Error 1303. This instsaller has insufficient privileges to access this directory: c:\document and settings\all users\application data\adobe\acrobat\9.0. The installation cannot continue.
Log on as an administrator or contact your System administrator."
It's very strange because now, I cannot reinstall Adobe Reader 8.1.3, or 7.1.0. Nothing happen when I click on the icon.
I never have trouble on those servers to install/uninstall applications. And never have trouble to install Adobe 9.
Any idea? I will make some searches about the #1303 error.
    Thanks

I have try this solution for the same error for other Adobe products:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405850
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=332541
    Ok, it works.
I have to apply full rights on folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\application data\adobe for the local admin group, and not the domain admin, and it works. :)
    Thanks

  • Please help! Cannot install Adobe Reader!

Hello, I hope someone can help me!
I tried to use Adobe Reader and I got an error message. I was not able to open Adobe Reader at all. Since I had had some trouble with my hard disk, I thought maybe some data could be damaged, so I decided to uninstall and re-install. This didn't work either. I now have no Adobe Reader on my computer and I am not able to install it. I get the message: "Die Anweisung in "0x0cf00068" verweist auf Speicher in "0x0cf00068". Der Vorgang 'written' konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden". With every try I get the same message, but with a different code. This was also the error message I got in the first place.
I use Windows XP and Windows Internet Explorer.
Can anybody tell me what to do?
    Thanks!

Thank you Michael, for your response.
I tried your suggestion, but unfortunately the Cleanup Utility cannot find Adobe Reader, so I think I deleted it thouroughly enough. The error message I got initially, was the same, so I think it must be something else. But no idea what. I'm really puzzled (and annoyed, I cannot do my work now!).
    Any other ideas? Please?

Every time I try to install Adobe Reader on my Windows 8.1 laptop the grey installer window pops up but nothing shows in it and nothing happens afterwards. I tried many times, different links and different browsers but useless.

  • Installing Adobe Reader under Windows 8.1 for its language really to be set "same as the operating system"

How can I install Adobe Reader 11.0.10 in both German and English in order to choose the language as per the Windows 8.1 language?  I already have Reader 11.0.10 installed with the language set to "same as the operating system", but only English is chosen.  How can I add French or another language to Adobe Reader later (if I in the future decide to add to Windows 8.1 support for more than German and English)?  Can I avoid deinstalling my current Reader software?  Can I keep Reader at 11.0.10 or must I install a lower level in order to obtain support for both German and English?

Yes, you need to uninstall the single-language Reader version before installing the MUI version.
Also, the MUI installer is 11.0.0, so you will need to update it to the current version.
If you download the updates manually (from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows), make sure you download the updates for MUI.
