Cannot install agent on servers
Hello,
I'm deploying System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager.
I've already added some Windows servers in monitoring console, but now I can't add new servers.
When I try to do this, this message appears :
"Client has been disconnected from server. Call ManagementGroup.reconnect()."
Both of console and DB servers have been rebooted.
Thank you.
Regards,
FXE

Visual C++2010 is installed
error from SCVMM
Error (441)
Agent communication is blocked. On SERVER1.company.org, the version of virtualization software or the VMM agent is unsupported.
Recommended Action
Update the agent and virtualization software, and then try the operation again.
it is working fine for all other servers,
any suggestions would be appreciated.
Phil Masoni have tried the install through the following
msiexec.exe /i vmmAgent.msi /L*V c:\vmmagent_install.log

Unisphere Host Agent cannot install on Windows 2012 R2 Core
Cannot install EMC Unisphere Host Agent on Windows Server 2012 R2 Core server.
When trying to install into Hyper-V 2012 R2 I get an error informing of the requirement for Feb 2013 updates to Windows 8 and Windows server 2012.Cannot install EMC Unisphere Host Agent on Windows Server 2012 R2 Core server.
When trying to install into Hyper-V 2012 R2 I get an error informing of the requirement for Feb 2013
updates to Windows 8 and Windows server 2012. -
I am trying to create a new SCVMM environment.
I picked a bunch of VMs that are up and running.
I know the administrator credentials for these VMs (It's the same for all of the chosen VMs)
I have a test controller on my dev machine which is also up and running.
But I'm getting an error in the Verification step saying -
"Microsoft test manager cannot install test agent on these machines. Possible causes:
- Machines are not running or they are not available on the network.
- The File and Printer sharing exception is not enabled on the machines."
I have done the following -
1) Disabled firewalls on all the machines
2) Network Adapters on all the machines are connected (ON) and their drivers are up to date
3) Enabled file and printer sharing exceptions on all machines
Still getting the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks a bunch! That's probably a very well written description of what
you've done... it seemed refreshingly thorough. I'm on the verge of
a cold or something, with a slightly fuzzy brain, so what I thought
I read seemed to describe you've done just about everything
correctly, except for one thing (maybe another)... If you gave the
button the instance name stepin...
stepin.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,
mouseDownHandler);
and you could/should change that from MOUSE_DOWN to CLICK
If that's not the problem, then it is possible the issue
arises due to the tween. Be sure to have the button instance name
assigned at both ends of the tween (I'm assuming by classic tween
you mean a timeline tween). For some reason objects don't like to
give up some of their past life's properties when moving from one
frame to the next, so if the beginning of the tween doesn't have an
instance name, then it's likely that it stays that way when it
reaches the other end despite you assigning the name there.
PS - for the stepin button, if you haven't already done so,
you should open it for editing and draw a rectangle in the 4th
(Hit) frame that covers the entire area of the text. It will not be
visible, but will allow clicking between letters in the button...
making it easier to click on -

Cannot install apps from App Store after iOS 7.04 upgrade
Hi everyone
I am new to iPad and Apple, and wonder if someone can please help me with this problem. I upgraded to iOS 7.04 yesterday, and today I cannot install any new apps from the App Store. Before the upgrade I could do this no problem. The 2 apps I am trying to download are free ones - eBay and Yahoo Mail.
I have tried to search for a solution in the discussions on here, but have only found threads from Sept 13, which point to Apple's servers being overloaded and people should wait until after the hubbub of the recent upgrade has died down. As it's now Feb 14, I would have thought things would be ok now, so feel my problem maybe nothing to do with that.
Two other bits of advice I found, I have also checked...... The date and time in settings are correct, and I believe I am signed in (but only because a 'sign in' is not showing so that's my assumption). The only advice I have not tried is hitting reset on my iPad as I'm nervous of loosing my stuff.
When I go into the App Store, select the app I want, click 'free' and then 'install', the blue spinning arrow appears. I leave it to install, but when I check later, it's still spinning. I've even left it a good 15 mins, which for those 2 apps would be way more time than needed.
Has anyone else has this same problem, and successfully found a solution? I would really appreciate some advice please.
Thanks, VikkiTry this, press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own. If they don't download at least the timer should stop.

Apparently as a result of a Windows update, my wife's computer, which is connected to our printer through an ethernet connection via our Linksys E3000 router, lost that connection. As the driver was out of date anyway, I downloaded just the updated driver and attempted to install it after making sure all traces of the old version were removed using the HP uninstaller.
I have tried now, inummerable times to install the driver. I either get the the point wher the install asks what type of connection I have and when it shows via ethernet I get an error message about the MpsSvc (Windows 7 firewall) being stopped or the install fails generating a message that says it's missing a setupfile. I have tried disabling the Norton Internet Security firewall and AV and still the install fails. I have tried activating the Windows Firewall, via the Task Manager (with the NIS Firewall off) to no avail.
One of the solutions I found on this forum from an HP Expert was to use the full software package to install the driver. Even though I do NOT want all the programs that come bundled with it (there used to be the option of choosing what you wanted but no longer) I tried that. I again got the whole firewall scenario message and then had to uninstall all the programs that I didn't want in the first place.
There are two ther computers in the house connected wirelessly to the printer and both work fine. I even tried the wireless route with this computer to no avail.
I know I am not the only one encounter this issue as I seen other postings but I've yet to see a solution that works. I'm trying not to get both frustrated and angry but this should be that difficult a problem to resolve. Prior to both the Windows update and the driver update from HP, this computer worked fine with this printer. There is a conflict between HP's software and Windows 7. Please give me a solution that actually works.
This question was solved.
View Solution. This did not help at all. I've run a level 4 uninstall and tried both just the driver and whole package and the process halts stating that Windows Firewall must be running. I am also finding that the level 4 uninstall did not remove all traces of HP printer related programs (the C410A is the only HP device connected to this system BTW)
I have completely uninstalled Norton Internet Security and tried to activate the Windows Firewall without success. After reinstalling NIS, I consulted with a site that deals with malware issues. After several tests, they could not find any traces of rootkits, viruses or malware. So, that is not the issue.
When I tried to activate the Windows Firewall, I get the following error notice, "Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings. Error Code 0x800706d9". I continue to get this message at random intervals, "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute. Please save your work". Sometimes I also get this error message as well, "Error 1722 RPC Server is unavailable."
In checking the event log I found the following errors listed, some corresponding to spontainious reboots.

Cannot install any version of IE
Hi there,
I am having some issues with one of our Terminal Servers, which is running Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit. It did have IE9 installed and when tried to upgrade this to IE10 or IE11 it was failing with the error "Internet Explorer did not finish installing".
There is no much helpful info in the event logs either.
So, following some other advice on here, I was pointed to the fact it could be that IE9 was corrupt and could be upgraded. I was advised to remove IE9 and try installing it again and then go through the upgrade process. However, there is an issue here. Once
IE9 was removed (through Uninstall an update in Control Panel), IE8 wasn't there. I still cannot install IE 9, 10 or 11 on this server now. What's also a concern is that now I cannot open Event Viewer or any other MMC as it shows an error about MMC will not
run with a version of Internet Explorer earlier than IE 5.5.
Any tips or ideas on how to resolve this? You can ask them in IE forum: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=ieitprocurrentver
They are more familiar with this.

[2012 R2] Cannot install Reporting Point - Unable to locate SSRS
Hi all,
For some reason I cannot install a new site server with the reporting point role. I receive an error that to valid SSRS instances can be found on the site server.
A little bit (not all servers) more about my environment
CAS Environment:
- Server 1 - SQL
- Server 2 - CAS
- Server 3 - Reporting Point (installed correctly)
Primary Site:
- Server 4 - Primary Site + SQL 2012 SP1
- Server 5 - Reporting Point (SQL 2012 SP1 only SSRS role)
I Installed SSRS in native mode with the Reporting databases created on Server 4.
Web Service and Report Manager URL created (recreated a couple of times)
http://server5/reports and /ReportServer CAN be accessed from the Primary Site server.
I am not trying to add the reporting point to the Server4...only to server5 where SSRS is installed.
No related event errors found.
Hope someone can help me out with this one.
Thanks in advance,
Bart

Could it be, that the user which has opened the console to install the reporting service rule is not a Administrator on the SQL server?
For the wizard you need to be an administrator. Then, the installation will running under the site server system context. -
Hello,
Can anyone help? I cannot install ioS 7.1 on my ipad2, message displayed "software update is not available at this time. Try again later".
ThanksAn iOS update to version 7.1.1 was just released. The update servers might be too busy at the time you tried to update. ID suggest waiting until later in the day and then try again.

Where to install agents?
Hi,
I have following architecture:
- Server 1 - ODI installed with option Server
- Client 1 - ODI installed with option Client
- Client 2 - ODI installed with option Client
- Server 2 - Oracle DB installed - ODI Repositories created
- Server 3 - Oracle DB - source system
- Server 4 - MS SQL Server - source system
- Server 5 - Oracle DB installed - target system
I not sure where to install agents for this architecture:
- on Server 1?
or
- on Servers 3 or 4 (source systems)
or
- on Server 5 (target system)
What solution will be the best one in this case?
Thanks in advance! It is best to install the agent as close to the target as possible. So, in your case it will be on Server 5.
Moreover, since you have only one target, then you have the advantage that you can install only one agent and it works.
Just keep in mind, that while installing the agent on the Server 5,
Server2, server3 and server4 should be visible to Server 5.
To explain more the above statement,
We have Filesystems FS1, FS2 on which the source files are located.
And the agent is located on ORADB1 which is the target Oracle DB. So, the filesystems FS1 and FS2 are visible to the system on which ORADB1 is installed and hence the agent on ORADB1 can also see the filesystems and hence access the files for processing.

Hi,
I'm planning to install two Tiger Servers. Each one will have it's one public and static IP address. Almost all accesses (excepted from admins) will come from Internet. The DNS will be provided by DynDNS and I suppose it sould be possible to balance request between the two servers ?
Now, assuming this is possible I would like both servers to provide same services but I don't really understand how to set up the two servers. I would like to set up a "primary" one and the second would be updated automatically.
Is this possible ?
Thanks for any informationHi, thanks for your answer,
What services are you planning on running?
Web, Mail, AFP/FTP/SMB will probably replaced by WebDAV not sure by now.
As most users will come from Internet, the DNS will be here for the local servers and administration computers. DNS will also be used with users connecting through VPN (I plan to install the NetGear FVX 538 to manage VPN connexions).
I thought first that it would be doable to have two servers with same services but it appears clearly now that mails and users folders cannot be easily replicated so... I found a PowerMac G4 1 Ghz and I will use it to host mails and users folders (for AFP, SMB FTP or WebDAV). This will allow me to install a RAID card and to provide a more secure storage for data in the futur.
DNS load balancing is crude, but will do the job -
generally alternate requests for name resolution will
return each address. There's no concept of failover,
though - if one of your servers is down then 50% of
your users are going to be disappointed.
OK, that's an interesting remark. I will investigate that with DynDNS to see exactly how they do provide what they call "Round Robin"
I'm also not sure how DynDNS works with multiple IP
addresses reporting to be the same DynDNS client. You
may need to check with them on that issue.
Yes, I will see that with them. Thanks.
As for how to keep the servers in sync, that depends
on what you're running. If you're service static
content (e.g. standard web pages) then you'll need to
implement some kind of file synchronization process
(either automatic or manual) so that changes made to
one machine are automatically copied to the other.
This will typically involve some kind of latency -
for example if you set an automatic 5-minute
replication schedule, then the second machine could
be as much as 4:59 minutes behind the main server.
You will need to determine the trade-off between
shorter intervals vs. extra overhead of checking when
there are no changes.
From a Apache point of view I would be very surprised if there isn't any way to keep two servers in sync. There is so many things available into Apache .
In anyway, contents should not change so frequently and then it should be enough easy to use a sync application to replicate changes to the second server. I will investigate that later too.
The other option for web traffic would be a database
solution - web content is stored in the database and
each web server pulls data from the database to build
pages on the fly. The advantage is that all web
servers are automatically in synch, the downside is
that you need a database server which becomes your
single point of failure - unless you have two
database servers that replicate between them, and so
it goes on
Yes, I thought of that too but now that I will have a third computer sharing several disk I will see if it's doable to put all Web pages there too.
If it's not web traffic you're trying to sync you
need to give more information as to what it is since
other protocols have different limits and options
(for example DNS has a built-in master-slave system
to replicate DNS changes to secondary DNS servers.
The DNS was not my first interrogation. The mail server is what really make me think very loud. I will have the G4 in a few days and will start making all my tests to see if it's enough responsive to put the mail db and all mail user s accounts on a shared volume. As my two lines will not be very fast in my beginning it should be fast enough to start with this setup.
If you have any comments they are welcome as I still investigate a lot of things and ways to achieve my plans.
Thanks again.
