Cannot install Asian language support files

My user wants to type Chinese character at the PDF document.  I tried to install Asian language support for the Acrobat Adobe 9 Standard with the OEM CD.  However, I had a problem with it.  Instead of installing; it asked for the Acrobat Adobe 9 Standard - EFG - CD.  What's wrong?  It look like the Acrobat CD version is wrong, but it came with this computer.  Is it caused by installed wrong version of Acrobat security patches?  If yes, how to fix it?  Uninstall Acrobat Adobe 9 then reinstall it?  Any suggestion!!!  Thank you in advance.

I scanned a page with Chinese text and the resulting PDF showed all gray.
Based on your suggestion that the files may already be installed, I scanned the same Chinese text again and it scanned correctly.
Probably it was a one-time error. Everything seems to be working now. Thank you for replying.

  • Install Asian Language support files, how?

I just purchased Acrobat XI Pro, and am running it under Windows 7 Ultimate.
How do I install the Asian Language support files for Acrobat?
After my initial installation, if I execute setup.exe to modify Acrobat XI, only English is listed under Languages.

  • Asian Language support in Acrobat 3D 8/TCS

I've spent hours and days to solve a problem with PDFs containing Japanese text, which refused to be copied/pasted into other applications. Then someone told me, it works on his PC using my PDFs the same that didn't work here. Well, it turned out that he had installed the Asian language packs for *READER*, which I didn't use. And which should *not* be used with Acrobat Pro or 3D, according to well-informed Acrobat gurus.
In their KB articles, Adobe gives instructions like these: "To make Asian fonts available for downloading to a printer, be sure you have downloaded the fonts to your computer using the Custom or Complete installation option during installation of Acrobat."
Well, after searching, reading, trying, re-installing etc., I have to say: THERE IS NO CUSTOM INSTALL OPTION in Acrobat 3D/TCS. I have NO option to install Asian language support within a suite that carries "communication" in its name. Technical communication *is* worldwide communication.
Interesting enough: after installing the Reader language packs, the required functionality was there (copy/pasting of asian characters), but currently I'm not sure if I damaged my system (or reduced its functionality) by installing Reader fonts for Acrobat 3D.
So, what do I have to do in order to achieve *full* support for Asian characters in Acrobat 3D/TCS? Any idea?

    Olaf,
before I wrote this posting there has been a whole lot of testing here. The situation in short words: I've created PDFs containing Japanese characters in Illustrator and in InDesign. Here on my PC I've not been able to copy/paste (e.g. to Word) any characters from the Illustrator PDF, that were created using OTF fonts and converted to "Type 1 CID/Identity H" fonts. A similar file created in InDesign worked without problems.
There have been a lot of strange things happening I was, for example, able to copy the characters in question (Illustrator PDF, OTF fonts) from Acrobat Pro on my Mac and paste them into Word (Windows) running in a Parallels VM. I could NOT do this within Windows from A3D to Word.
After sending my test PDFs to the German FrameUser mailing list, I got a response from one person (as noted above). And: after installing the Japanese Reader fonts, I suddenly was able to copy the characters within Windows. There must be something that has changed. Copying the characters over to Mac ceased to work in this moment, but has worked before. So the Reader font installation seems to do more than just install fonts although I don't know what it could be.
You'll get my test files within the next minutes
    Thanks for caring :-)

  • HELP!! Installation of OS X Panther 10.3 stops at Asian Languages Support

I had trouble trying to move the user directory onto another harddrive so I have had to reinstall from scratch. I have a clean harddrive that has been formatted (extended journalled) twice, and written over with zeros...
When the installer get to 'Processing Asian Languages Support' 38% it stops dead and doesn't continue. No error message is displayed. It was frozen for a least 24 hours before I rebooted and tried again, but to no avail.
    Can anybody offer any advise?

    gemmakls:
The G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) shipped with OS 9.0.4.
With a HDD that has been reformatted, and the data zeroed, you should not have a problem installing unless:
    1. You have improper of faulty install disks
    2. there is some hardware issue.
    Here is what I suggest:
    1. Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
    2. If that does not help run Apple Hardware Test from the disc that came with your computer.
    Good luck.

  • Why ni488225.exe won't install the Language Support folder on my laptop?

I am trying to install ni488225.exe on my Vista OS laptop.  Usually the driver will install the Language Support folder so that you can include the .h and link the .obj file to your program.  But for some reason, after running the ni488225.exe driver, it won't install the folder.

    Good Afternoon WestRace,
I installed ni488225.exe on a clean image of Vista 32 Business.  I attached a screenshot of the results of a search I ran for "language support."  It appears to have installed the files about which you inquired.  Do you have any other Vista machines on which you could install this driver?

What are you talking about exactly?  There is normally no need to install anything to read or write Asian languages on your Mac.  Tell us what language for starters and what it is you think you can't do now.

  • Installing French language support on Solaris 7

    Hi,
I need to install French language support on Solaris 7 (sparc). Which packages(s) do I need to install and where can I get them?
    Thanks.

Do you have luns 0-7 for this target in /kernel/drv/sd.conf ?
By default there is only a lun 0 for each target.
Additionally, format may only see the raid controller and your raid software would be used to configure the disks behind it into luns of varying sizes.

  • East Asian language support for adding closed captions (Japanese)

I am trying to add Japanese subtitles to my project as closed captions. However, once added the Japanese captions show as little white boxes in the preview pane.
Is there no way to add Asian language support so it displays?
I am using Premiere Pro CC (US English version although I am located in Japan).

    Hello drummonds,
Is your Mac connected to an internet connection?
Is your device unlocked and you are using a different carrier than that of the one branded to your device?
Backup your device data and reinstall your software as shown in KB19915; once the reload completes try going back into the Add/Remove applications tab.
Let me know how you make out.

  • Cannot install chinese language pack on windows 8.1

Hi , I just bought HP Pavilion 500-338d installed with Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems.     I don't know why cannot install chinese language pack. By the way, I had checked with Microsoft team and then they said to refer to manufacturer side. Attached picture is my problem. Please help me. Thank You.

It depends on the version of Windows you have.
If you have Windows Single Language version (see screenshot below), you can change your keyboard layout language, but you can't change your Windows display language.

  • Cannot Install "Error writing to file:..."

    Hello,
I have been using iTunes and Quicktime for quite sometime now. i recently attempted to upgrade to the latest version and received this error:
Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QuickTimeVR.Resources\sa.lproj\QuickTimeVRLocalized.qt r. Verify that you have access to that directory.
I have tried uninstalling iTunes and Quicktime as well as conducted several virus and spyware tests with no luck.
This is quite frustrating as I cannot install nor use iTunes so I have no way of syncing my iPod.
    Thank you for any suggetions.

Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QuickTimeVR.Resources\sa.lproj\QuickTimeVRLocalized.qt r. Verify that you have access to that directory.
That sort of message citing that sort of program file (in this case it looks like it might be a file in your Spanish language resources) is usually caused by that file being damaged in some way.
The damage is often caused by disk damage near the file. So let's try running a chkdsk over the C drive:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, does an itunes install go through properly afterwards?

  • N800 with Asian language support

Does anyone know if there is software for support Asian languages? I'm specifically interested in traditional and simplified Chinese. I travel to China and Taiwan about twice a year and the N800 would be a nice tool to have on those trips. Any recommendation is appreciated.

  • Cannot install .pkg and .mpkg files

I have recently tried to install .pkg and .mpkg files but without success. When I double-click on a file, the installer icon appears in dock but I get the following error message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.).
The problem persists despite repairing permissions.
I have read several messages about this problem but there seems to be only one solution, and that is to reinstall the OS. I am seriously trying to avoid this unless there is a way to recover all my applications, including Parallels Desktop, Windows 7 and other Win applications.
I would greatly appreciate any advice. Many thanks.

The problem persists despite repairing permissions.
Did you restart your computer after doing the above?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run _*Repair Disk*_ from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select *Disk Utility.*
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click *First Aid.*
    Click _*Repair Disk.*_
    Restart your computer when done.

  • I cannot install the language pack CDs for Rosetta Stone.

I'm trying to install the language packs of my Rosetta Stone package. The application CD installed ok, and it is running. You need to then install the language CD from inside that application. When I "add language CD", I get the error "You must have administrative permissions to use this feature." I've set all permissions for all groups the "read & write" on both the Rosetta Stone app file and the content folders. I've called Rosetta Stone and they tell me this is an Apple problem. Help please! I'm getting really, really frustrated with this!
    I'm on an iMac, OS X 10.9.5
    Thanks.

    Frank,
so, I did search for the directory Language Training - it doesn't exist on my system. As an experiment, I manually added the directory and gave it read/write permissions. Rosetta still couldn't install the language CD. I've cut and pasted the permissions below of the Rosetta Stone directory as well as the bin directory. I wonder if I'm having this problem because I'm trying to install Rosetta Stone Version 3? That is the latest version that allows for homeschooling.
