I was attempting to reinstall my printer but got an error message:
Cannot find "Installer.exe" in C:\users\name\AppData\Local\Temp specific file called "FP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.EXE"

I read your post about the virus you had, and now are having an issue with re-installing your Photosmart C8180. I will try to help you!
Please go back into your temp folder, delete all of the files it will allow you to, close out of the temp folder and download and reinstall the printer again with your firewall and/or anti-virus temporarily disabled. Let me know what happens, including any specific error messages and codes.
When you respond, please include which Operating System you're running and I will look into this further for you, to see what else we can try.

I have aHP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer that when I turn it on it looks like it is going to start, then the light on the light scribe door goes on and off, it makes a clicking noise then the printer shuts off, then comes back on and does the same thing over and over.

I just need some information from you first. Do you have your printer plugged directly into a wall outlet? Have you power reset your printer? Have you tried to plug it in to a different wall outlet? Have you tried using a different power cable?

When firefox trys to auto update, or I manually download the new version, or some but not all downloads off of the web, I get this error message. C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)

Please help.

Can't Install C5200 All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software- Runtime error Prevents Installation

I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I am unable to install the HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software that I downloaded from the website.

I would first like to welcome you to the HP Support Forums!
When getting the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error message. The first step that I would suggest doing, is to make sure that you do have the latest update. I have included a link to the latest available download from Microsoft for 'Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4'. Along with this update, I would also suggest completing any other Windows updates that are available to you.
After you have installed all the necessary updates, I would suggest restarting your computer, if you have not already. Then try installing the printer software again.
If you are still experiencing the same error message when trying to install the printer, please let me know the version of Windows that you are currently running. If you need assistance in finding the version, I have included the document 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.

HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g installation windows 8.1 64bit

After operating a HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g from both an old Windows XP notebook and from an ASUS Windows 8, 64bit laptop, subsequently updated to 8.1; I'm now trying to install it to run from a Toshiba Satellite NB10T-A notebook Windows 8.1 64bit, but without success.
The original installation CD does not provide an installation but on start up (presumably because it is only compatible with Windows XP and 7.
The www.hp.com site offers a download of a full driver for the printer, forWindows 8.162bit. This seems to download fine. The file unpacks, says it is installing, but on completion the driver is not available.
There are no options to uninstall, either in control panel/printers or in control panel/software.
Without the driver, the Windows 8.1 system recognises the printer and allows simple printing ffrom applications. However, it is not possible to use the scan options, giving the error message that the driver is not available. Neither HP Solution Center or HP Document Manager are installed.
I have tried HP Print and Scan Doctor. This recognises the printer on USB link, says that there are missing drivers, downloads, unpacks and installs drivers. But the printer icon in control panel/printers continues to have an alarm icon and indicates that the printer is still missing drivers.
I have also tried the HP Printer Installation Wizard. The result is similar.
Please advise how I can install the scan options of this equipment and confirm that the machine is compatible with windows 8.1 64bit.

I read through your post about how you cannot scan on your Windows 8.1 computer as the driver and software doesn't seem to be completing successfully on your system. However, you have been able to install the printer and its functioning fine on other computers.
I would suggest checking the Control Panel to see if there are any printer files to uninstall: Uninstalling the Printer Software
Restart the PC afterwards
Perform a Clean Boot
Restart the PC again
Download and install the printer again: HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver
If you see any error messages or codes during the installation process, make note of the exact problem or error and post me back a screen shot or the details.

Cannot install F4280 All-in-One in Windows Vista 32 bit

I downloaded the latest driver and full feature software but I get a screen that says there is a newer version of the software already installed. Any ideas are greatly appreciated (except buying a new printer).

I tried each step but no cigar. Some files were found to be corrupted and almost all were fixed by running the MS diagnostic tools you suggested. I have provided some information from the sfc.txt file below that may be the root cause but I am not software savvy to the point of understanding what the information is actually telling me.

I still can't seem to completely get the program files uninstalled or reinstalled. What file does the software check when detecting the current software installation status? If I had that information, I might be able to find a way to remove it or modify it to allow the new installation. I am at a loss. I know that there has to be a way to resolve this but I am still a novice when it comes to the software.

Just so you know, doing the download is not going to be much bigger (if at all ) than the software and drivers on the disk. It is updated so after the printer is installed, it will perform more efficiently because of the updates.

Every time I try and download a microsoft office file, I get an error saying: Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\Tara\Appdata\Local\Temp\*FILENAME*. This happens will all Office files. Suggestions for fixing this?

I choose download when asked what to do with the file.

Try removing the archive file from Outlook, rename it and then readd, then restart Outlook and see if the error goes away.

The app for Windows phone is a BETA version. In my case (also a Nokia) it can find my printer but when sending something to printer, printer won't print. Again, it's only a BETA version.

When you received your printer you should have received two insulation disks one is for Windows computers and the other one is for Mac ( Apple Computer) If you have the disks please install Mac disk. Apple computers do search and down load the parcel software so you can do basic printing commands. You need to find the program that is some where in your computer that allows you to hook up Pinters and Devices. Ounce you find this open it up then connect the printer cable to the lap top. The computer program will list HP's printers yuo need to select your printers model number. Then it will down load the drivers for it to run basic commands. Ounce they are download run a test to make sure it is working right. Contact HP's store and asked them to send you a new set of insulation disk. Your old disk may have fine dust film on them. Clean them off pior to inserting them If you use glass cleaner and fine cloth make sure they are dry off before you insert them. If you used them before maybe a speck of dirt blocked out parcel program that caused it not to install correctly . frrw

Installing software for my HP psc 1210 all-in-one printer on to my Mac?

I have downloaded new software and drivers for my all-in-one printer. I am running OS X 10.5.2 on a 20" 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. The computer recognises that a printer is present and I can print with no problems. The problem that I'm having is with the scanner function. I don't think that the HP software is registering that there is a printer present. When I go into the HP setup assistant no printer comes up in the selection window. When I go into Printer & Fax via system preferences the HP psc 1210 series comes up as the default printer. I've had this problems before but cannot remember how I rectified it. I'm sure it got something to do with erasing the driver's off the computer and starting over again. Can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction. Thanks
