Cannot Install CS3 Contribute with SMS

The Adobe documentation page
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Contribute/4.1_CPS/help.html?content=con_config_deploy_cd_18.h tml
states that you can install Contribute with SMS. However if you try
to run the msi using MSIexec the program tells you to run with
setup! Setup is an initialising package which then starts another
setup and performs the actual install. Hence it is not possible to
reliably install the product with SMS unless it is
repackaged!

I am getting the exact same message and have the same problem, it won't install the other applications. Did you get an answer to your question?

  • Cannot install CS3 on my new computer

hi, i cannot install CS3 on my new computer due to the fact that i did not deactivate is on my old laptop. to which i dont have acces any more.. can anyone help finding a solution?

Have you tried installing it or are you just assuming you cannot.  You are normally allowed to install and activate on two machines.
You will need to contact Adobe support thru chat in order to get assistance with deactivating the inaccessible installation.  For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Cannot install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on server 2012 R2. IIS configuration error

    Hey Guys,
I'm experiencing a problem which seems to be common considering the number of posts I've found about it, but none of the provided solutions worked for me.
I'm simply trying to install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on a Windows Server Standard 2012 R2.
I've downloaded from the MS Volume Licensing website the "SharePoint Server 2013 with SP1" ISO file :  SW_DVD5_SharePoint_Server_2013w_SP1_64Bit_English_MLF_X19-36118. So
this is the slipstreamed version which is supposed to bring compatibility with 2012 R2.
As I do not have direct access to the Internet I need to perform an offline installation. I also downloaded all prerequisities. When I run prerequisiteinstaller.exe with the necessary arguments, I get the following :
    (Full log file is below)
    I've tried the following :
    - Restarted the server multiple times
    - Manually removing/adding IIS role + restart
    - Running the prerequisiteinstaller.exe from the DVD or from an extracted version
    - Manually installing the prerequisities
    - Installed .Net 3.5 as recommended here (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/0b597d35-b02d-4236-894d-38efc0c7c6f6/sharepoint-2013-with-sp1-install-on-windows-server-2012-r2?forum=sharepointgeneral)
None of the worked. So I'm stuck and I must completed the installation of this before the end of the week for an important project !
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot Install Windows 7 with AHCI mode

    Hello,
Having just submitted a support ticket to MSI, I was curious to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue or may be able to suggest a possible resolution.
I recently purchased a MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate for an htpc build.
I've ran into an issue of not being able to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit onto my ANY SATA 3 hard drive with SATA mode - AHCI enabled in bios.
Main parts for the build are:
    Motherboard: MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate
    CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4 3 FCLGA 1150
    RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 600
    OS HD: Crucial M500 SSD
During Windows install and selecting the SSD in which to install windows onto..
Windows will prompt with: “Windows cannot be installed to Disk x Partition x. (Show details)
Afterwards, I’ll select ‘Load driver’ and select the “Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for 8x series,” provided by MSI drivers download page. Confirmed as a valid driver for the SATA AHCI controller.
"Select the driver to be installed" lists: “Intel(r) 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller” Looks good, then progress...
Followed by clicking on next- “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information.”
I've tried installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit via USB drive and OEM disc to no avail.
Performed a test using the same install procedure with my primary desktop computer which uses a MSI z68A-GD65 (G3) motherboard (AHCI enabled.) I was able to install windows to my Crucial M500 SSD without issue.
Confirmed the issue occurs while testing with different hard drives. I have yet to be able to install windows with AHCI enabled on this motherboard.
    HDDs tested include:
    WD Black WD5002AALX 500GB
    Seagate ST3100524AS 1TB
Once I change SATA mode from AHCI to IDE, I was able to install windows without the need of pre-loading the Intel 8 Series SATA/AHCI driver.
Afterwards having installed windows, I decided to test by switching SATA mode back to AHCI. Doing so will cause the machine to bsod upon booting to windows. Later, I performed the registry edit to change IDE to AHCI mode within windows. Followed by again enabling AHCI in bios.
I was able to boot while in AHCI mode temporarily a couple of times until this method stopped working. Any attempt past the bios post, windows will not boot.
I've also tested the manual and XMP profile RAM settings as suggested by the sticky'd thread here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=178019.0
I would like to possibly resolve the issue in regards to utilizing AHCI mode for optimal performance for my hard drives and hot swap capability.
When I have more time, I suppose I can run a RAM test; but so far I simply believe it may just be a SATA controller or driver conflict with the motherboard.
tl;dr Cannot install Windows 7 onto any hard drive with AHCI enabled. Works fine with IDE mode.

** Update as of 6/3/2014 ** Issue resolved.
Received my replacement motherboard from RMA. Replacement is working without any issues with SATA mode set to AHCI.
Tested by running Windows 7 and Windows 8 install - both detected my SATA SSD and other HDDs as applicable drives to install Windows onto. Pre-loading the SATA controller drivers was not necessary. Windows boots up immediately without any delay now. Benchmarks are showing valid stats for SATA3 devices.
Also to note, the replacement motherboard came with bios version 1.5, compared the one I sent back which came with 1.6. In case if that had anything to do with it. Not going to risk updating the bios at this point.

  • Cannot install CS3

    I have a Windows XP3 machine. With MX 2004 and Dreamweaver 8
installed. Tried several times to installed CS3. Only Components
Share installed. Dreamweaver CS3 and etc. refuse to install. Any
idea how to solve the matter. Thanks for your time.

When I tried to install CS3 on an XP machine I couldn't
    either. I realized
it was because I needed a DVD drive. It wouldn't install from
    my regular CD
drive. Maybe you're experiencing the same problem I did.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 with bootcamp

Ok, I am getting really frustrated at this point with bootcamp. I have previously installed win7 on this same computer I'm working with, I reformatted the drive and uninstalled windows with bootcamp, the reason I did this was because I needed more space on my windows drive. I have followed all of bootcamp's directions and I keep getting stuck on the same spot. After creating a win7 install usb stick (with the same oem copy of win7 I used last time), downloading the drivers, and getting thru the partioning steps, the computer reboots into windows install. I see "disk 0 partition 4: bootcamp" after clicking format (to get it to be formatted to ntfs) I click next, then I keep getting the following error. "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information."
I have tried installing with bootcamp a few different times, even with a different copy of windows 7 and keep getting stuck here. I have installed it just fine before, I dont know why this is happening now. I am on a 15" 2012 rMBP 500gb model

    Hi All-
I know this post is dated slightly but I wanted to chime in with some Bootcamp help on the newer vintage MBP laptops.
Just to throw it out there - nearly every Mac I purchase gets hardware hacked the minute it comes out of the box.  RAM/SSD upgrades are usually the first on the agenda.  The SSD/drive upgrades can tend to muck-up the process of using Apple's standard BootCamp tools for loading Windows.
Here is a very simple way to accomplish the same things that BootCamp does only the right way so Windows will be happy alongside OS X.
    1. Download your Windows ISO (stop making DVDs!) and make a USB bootable stick.  You can do this in a number of ways - on the OS X side use Disk Utility, on the Windows side use the Microsoft Store USB download/create tool.  Just make sure you have a -known- good working USB bootable Windows 7 install media (or Windows 8)
    2. Once you've done this you will want to get the WindowsSupport folder for your model of Mac, so launch BootCamp, un-check the top and bottom options so that only the Download Support Files option is selected, indicate that you would like to copy to an external drive.  Tell it to place the folder either on your Desktop or in your Library somewhere.  Let it do its thing and then copy those files onto your newly created USB Windows 7/8 install media.  Now you have the Windows installation media as well as the Apple BootCamp drivers for Windows all on one single USB.
    3. Partitioning - instead of using the flawed BootCamp software to do this, we'll use Disk Utility in OS X.  Launch Disk Utility and highlight your primary hard drive.  Click the 'Partition' button at the top.  Now click the '+' button to add a partition, name it WINDOWS or something so you can identify it easily later.  Use the slider to create the size of partition you would like for Windows - this will auto-resize your OS X partition.  On the right-hand side of the Disk Utility window use the drop-down to change partition type from Mac OS X Journaled to MS-FAT.  Once you have done all of that use the Apply button to let it do its thing and re-size/create partitions.  This takes about 3 minutes tops.
    4. Install Windows!  - Be sure your Windows 7/8 USB bootable install media is inserted in a USB slot on the system.  Once you have completed the re-partitioning action, simply shut down your machine, and restart it holding the Option (Alt) button.  The alt button will cause the system to eventually show you a choice of bootable disks.  The USB disk will be easily identified because it will have an orange colored icon with the USB symbol on it.  Click this to boot from the USB Windows 7/8 install media.
    5. Windows Installer - the Windows installer will launch after a period of time, use the 'Next' button and accept the license terms and you will be brought to a window to select the destination for the Windows install.  You should automatically see the WINDOWS (or whatever you named it) partition that was created during step 3.  Highlight this partition and the 'next' button should un-grey and become available, if it does, click it and the Windows installation will proceed.  If the 'next' button does not un-grey you will want to highlight the partition and select 'Format', once that completes it will un-grey the 'next' button and the install will proceed.
    6. Once the installation is done it will need to reboot a few times (normal Windows install procedure at this point).  You will need to hold down the 'alt' key during each reboot and now select the 'WINDOWS' hard disk partition (not the USB one) from the boot menu to continue going through the motions of Windows installation.
    7. BootCamp Driver Install - once you have finished all of the reboots and motions of Windows installation you will want to boot into Windows, and once at the desktop make sure your USB install media that was used previously is inserted into the system.  Go to My Computer, find the USB drive, open it, and navigate to the WindowsSupport folder that was saved during step 2.  There will be an application called Setup , double-click this and choose 'Allow' during any security warnings.  Click 'next' once the installer loads and it will automatically install every Mac device driver needed on the Windows side.
7 steps and approximately 45-minutes later you should be sitting with a fresh installation of Windows on a bootcamped partition.
Hope this helps somebody out - it took me quite some time and research to figure out the "cleanest" method for bypassing the flakey BootCamp application for installing Windows.

  • Install CS3 along with DW8?

Can I install CS3 Design Premium without uninstalling DW 8?
I've tried searching for this info but haven't been able to find it
so far. I'm running on Windows XP Pro if that makes a difference.
I want to start using the other pieces of CS3 but want to
continue using DW8 until I finish my current project.
    Thanks.

    Sure, you can.

  • Cannot install CS3 extension anymore on CS5 with the new Extension Manager

    Hi,
I got accustomed to using extension such as the Guide Panel, offered from the Adobe Developer page. This extension, among many others has been created for CS3 but has always worked as far as I can remember. Now that I try to install them, the Extension Manager gives me the error:
This extension can not be installed, it requires Fireworks version 7 or greater.
Does anyone have an idea how to surpass the version checking? After all I have a CS5, the error message thus doesn't make sense.
    See you!

  • Cannot install CS3 on Win-7 64-Bit

    I have a brand new Win-7 64-bit system.
I still have the install files for CS3 Web Premium that I downloaded 3 years ago.
    I have had various problems.
Installed at first and programs hung or failed to open.
I tried going back to a restore point and installing again.
I read somewhere this may have been a bad idea - don't know why.
However, my latest methodology has been:
Copy the install files to the new machine.
Deactivate the software on the old machine.
Extract the AdobePDF.dll_64 from the data1.cab
Ran the install. - pointing to the AdobePDF.dll when prompted.
Acrobat 8 and shared components installed  but did not work.
Everything else says "Component Install Failed" - no other explanation or help.
Get the vista licensing patch and install it.   - when I did this I was able to get Acrobat 8 to run and not hang.
    Updated Acrobat to 8.1.3.
    Tried the install again.
I still get "Component Install Failed" for everything.  No idea why.
I have read through lots of stuff on the forums.  Found out about the AdobePDF.dll_64 and the licensing patch.
Haven't found anyone else who tried going to a restore point.  If that is my problem what do I do.  I have restored a couple of times and cannot get back to where I was on the first install.  Since I am just getting started, I could return to factory install on the machine and try again - but I only want to do that if it will actually work!!  I having been at this for two days and I would like to move on!!

OK.  It turns out the restore was in fact what killed me.  The restore removed some, but not all, of the Adobe install I had tried.  This was enough to screw up all future install attempts.
The restore point thing in windows sounds nice, but I guess it can be dangerous.
I had messed things up with all my install attempts, so I restored the machine to factory settings - a clean win-7 install - and then followed the instructions found here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2335063 and it worked.

  • Cannot Install CS3. Please Help.

The other day I opened up photoshop and I got a message that said, " Licensing for this product has stopped working: You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or adobe customer support for help." This same message appeared with all the applications in CS3. I called customer support, they said my license is fine and to uninstall the reinstall.
Now when I reinstall it the only thing that will install is Acrobat reader 9. Is there anyone than can help me?

I am getting the exact same message and have the same problem, it won't install the other applications. Did you get an answer to your question?

  • Cannot install CS3 Extended - AT ALL.

I bought CS3 Extended for Mac at the Apple store.
Nevermind that I went in for CS4 Extended and had waited to buy that version - the person either didn't know the difference or didn't care, and someone else opened the box when I got home.  So I guess I'm screwed as far as taking it back for any exchanges.  =(
What's even worse: I can't get it to even LOAD an installation screen.  Nothing happens with installation at all!
When I load the disc into my Imac, the disc opens showing its folders.  But, I open the folders in that window, and I can't see a single application icon.  And of course, again, no installation screen let alone asking for serial number, etc.
I had tried to install this same disc on an older machine not long after I got it, and it sort of installed but would NEVER run.  It would have open, then crash.  I totally uninstalled and deleted that one long ago.
I thought it was the machine, that it was too weak to run Photoshop, even though it wasn't that old.
So I bought a top of the line Imac (the one with the TB HD) less than a month ago.  There is almost nothing on this one (I did install Norton).  WHY will CS3 not work!?
I'm upset at Apple for giving me the WRONG THING  (very busy in the store that day and I was exhausted and didn't notice, so my bad too but STILL) and I am upset at Adobe for apparently selling me a lemon of a disc.
What can I do?  Please, please, help.
    Thank you!!

    Hello All.
Thank you so much for all of your help.
I did attempt to log in again - between being ill, switching to a new machine, etc., (forgot my password; perhaps from feeling so drained) getting back to this thread was delayed. I had come back in and gone through pages til I found it but then could not seem to get logged in.
Dragging Norton to the trash icon did allow PS3 to install.  So, that's $40 wasted - and it was a download, so I can't even install it on my older machine if I wanted to.  I think Norton should put a warning on their website that it has a conflict with newer Macs.  Instead, it has a place to download their program and it has the OS mentioned there.  Clearly misleading. (As for exchanging PS3 for PS4, the return date has passed and someone else opened it before I noticed the error, so, I can't. But thanks for the support/suggestions there.)
Strangely enough Norton still tries to launch when I install system updates and such.  I admit I'm not the techiest person in the world so I imagine I will face hazing here from time to time.
But, not coming in right away could mean a number of things, 'drive by' or ungrateful poster least among them. In addition to other things we had two family members put into the hospital nearly at the same time, a teenage relative nearly die after being hit by a drunk driver (her two friends in the car DID die - one on impact, one later) as well as a very elderly relative put into the hospital right before her birthday with a possible operation looming now.
All this to say: please think before insulting someone for not coming right back in to thank people...it doesn't mean the help wasn't followed or appreciated it just means sometimes life gets in the way.
Now as soon as I can figure out how to award replies in this forum I have just joined, I will do so.  Promise!
Thank you for everyone who replied it's truly appreciated!!

  • Installing CS3 Premium with CS4 demo installed impossible...

I am attempting to merely install Adobe CS3 Design premium on a mac that has the CS4 demo installed. During installation it ejects the DVD and asks to put in the CS4 disk...
    I don't have CS4 disks.
Any clues? The plethora of Adobe install and updates issues are well known, and won't add yet another rant here, just looking to see if anyone else has seen this and knows of a possible fix.
    Thank you.
Starts with "Currently repairing Shared components", and then it ejects the DVD and then says:
"Installer Alert: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium: Please insert Adobe Flash CS4 Professional to continue installation".
    What? Why?!

Update... using the adobe CS3clean script fixed this.
    So strange. But thanks.

  • Hi. I have recently purchaed the new i4 s. on trying to install it says "cannot install please check with vendor that this is a genuine apple install?

hi trying to install itunes but dosnt let me
    message says
This instalation package could not be opended. Verify that the package exsists and that you can acess it
or contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package
    Any help much appricated

Well, running on a 2006 model.  I did not have a startup disc.  Initially, it booted up on original software in 2006.  Since then, I've upgraded to 10.6 via a box set.  And, since then I think I popped it up to lion.
All I have on a disc is snow leopard.  And, I can't get farther than the setup screen due to hard drive.  I'm taking to a apple authorized repair store right now.  We'll see what they tell me .  I'm just going to weigh the cost of repair vs. buying new.
Another bad, stupid thing is I had no means of backing up my stuff.  So, I might have lost things like music, vids, etc.  we'll see if they can recover.  If the cost is too much for repair I might just forget it and start over with a new system.  Just not sure at this point.

  • Cannot install CS3 on my macbook

I have a 2007 macbook and cs3 will not install. I didn't have any other applications open, skipped the verifying applications process and the download took over 4 hours to install, to only tell me that none of the applications were able to be installed. Will CS3 not install on this macbook. Is it too old?

Whether or not CS3 installs entirely depends on what version of OSX you use. CS3 requires the Rosetta components and those were only part of OSX until 10.6.3, optionally available until 10.6.7. if you have a newer version, CS3 won't install. The hardware is not the problem.

  • New 17 in MBP--cannot install OS X with SSD Hard drive

    Hi
I just bought the latest MBP from Apple's website last week. I previously had the previous generation (17in MBP with i7) I am using this SSD hard drive
    http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CTFDDAC256MAG-1G1
My problem is OS X will not install on this drive ONLY on this new MBP. It fails about 1/2 through. I have tested the drive with disk utility and it comes back fine. I ran diagnostics on a Windows box and it came back fine. I have also placed this hard drive in the previous MBP and a 13 in MBP (core 2 duo) and it installed very fast and fine. THe drive has the latest firmware from Crucial.
When I go to install, it is very slow compared to the original 750GB 5400rpm drive. It takes about an hour before it crashes. I have a call in with an Apple senior level tech, but he is off until Monday and I really need to get this fixed. I am 200 miles away from an Apple store and while I am willing to drive it, they said over the phone they can not guarentee a fix.
I swapped out RAM, reset the PRAM, cried, prayed, and begged. What's going on? Is this a design flaw?? How can I get this to go through?
I would really appreciate someones help. Thanks guys!

Do I understand correctly that you're replacing the new machine's original hard drive with this SSD? If so, here's a different approach to installing the OS on it:
Put the SSD into an external enclosure and the original drive back into the MBP. Connect the external to the MBP, boot the MBP from the internal HD, format the SSD with Disk Utility, and clone the original hard drive onto the SSD after reformatting the SSD with Disk Utility. You can do the cloning with Disk Utility, but I prefer Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper because they're more informative about what's happening during the process. After the clone is complete, install the SSD into the MBP and test.
