Cannot install CS4. GETTING SICK OF THIS!!

Everytime I attempt to run the CS4 Installer, I get the following message.
"Cannot install CS4 components."

Error 1603. Error 1402.Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\11FF4F95178A94E459DEFF6F264BBB17\4984543AA44108D46B501C82EFD03792. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

WTF do I do!? I am an Admin on the computer so I doubt thats the problem. What the heck is going on?

Try to understand that the Creative Suite Cleaner package is supposed to clean up after a previous installation, which you have said you have had. If it's not working, perhaps it's stalling on the same problem - e.g., permissions or something - that you have created on your system and which is blocking the installation of the CS4 package afresh.
Specific error messages, including screen grabs, will be helpful. Just coming on here with vague "it does not work" statements isn't going to get you any specific help.
What's up with your Vista setup? Have you had to reinstall or recover the OS? Did you change accounts? The information in your first post above implies a permissions problem accessing the registry.

P.S., I don't know what you mean by "Windows Utility Cleaner", but it is almost universally true that general purpose registry "cleaner" utilities screw up more things than they fix. Avoid using them!

Mac Mini - Cannot install Mac OS X on this computer

I have recieved a Mac Mini from a family member as a gift - I believe it's an old 2010 model or so running 2.66 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 1TB (2 500gb) HDD.
I'm 99% sure the disc I'm using is the computers orginal disc.
I have gone about reformatting the computer like I have done with all my macs previously, however when I select a language when booting from disk, I will get the pop up error "Cannot install Mac OS X on this computer". I have tried wiping both hard drives, partitioning both hard drives but to no avail.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume

Hi,
A while ago I made this post (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=448726&tstart=0) asking for post-new-harddrive installation help. I have just installed an 80GB hard drive into a iBook G3 tangerine clamshell.
It was suggested in the above post that I partition my hard drive so that the first partition had less than 8 GBs. I did this - the first partition currently has 6.9 GBs free. The other partition has 67.4 GB free.
However, when I try to proceed with the installation, I can't get past the "Select a Destination" screen because BOTH volumes are marked as "You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume. You cannot start up your computer using this volume."
Any advice? What have I done wrong, here?
(Also, be advised... I am a total novice at this). Your help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply. I was unaware if this was a Panther or an iBook G3 issue, and you're right - I'll take a look on the iBook G3 boards.
In the meantime, it seems that I might have found a solution to the problem. It seems that a restart is required after the drive is partitioned, whereupon Panther recognizes the newly partitioned disk.
After the restart, Panther recognized both volumes and let me proceed with the installation. We'll see if things work out (installing Panther now).

Windows Vista, IE 9. I'm conintually getting the and AVG message when I try to open IE. I've tried to reinstall the Free AVG and I receive the message "Cannot install software, getting installer.exe containes a virus and has been deleted"

I've been having a lot of issues with Leopard and all the 2.2 issues going around. I went to the apple store and he told me to use a retail DVD instead of the ones that came with my computer, since it appears only the 2.2 Macbooks are having the issue.
Well I inserted the DVD and booted from it, and after I select language it is telling me that I cannot install Mac OS X on this computer and to read the instructions for system requirements.
It has me completely baffled. Does anyone know why this would be? I tried with the disks my computer came with and it would work, so I completely erased the hard drive, and then tried installing from a bootable copy on my external hard drive. Same problem again.... It makes no sense to me, as he was able to install a copy on my computer at the store from his external drive (which he said was a regular retail copy, nothing special). Also, this is not the upgrade disk mailed out in November, it is the actual retail copy.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

I would bring the computer and DVD to the store and show them the problem. Let Apple take care of it.

Cannot Install CS4 IM GOING CRAZY!

Hey everyone,
My problem is as follows: I cannot install any program in the CS4 Design Suite on my computer. This is not an upgrade, this is a fresh install.I know the packages are good because I installed them on my laptop with the same installers and it worked flawlessly.
I've encountered a few different issues, most of which I was able to resolve with a few minutes on google, but now I'm stuck on the same issue.
When I attempt to install, it goes through all of the steps, and once the progress bar reaches 100% it tells me the installation has failed.
The error message I receive is (this is what I get in Dreamweaver, however its essentially the same for all programs):
Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
Error:

I've tried clearing out my temp folder, uninstalling, then using both the Windows Install Clean Up Utility, and the CS4 Clean Up Script. I also installed a newer version of Windows Installer. I see this is a fairly common problem, but no solution I have found in various forums, sites, etc has worked for me. I've done essentially everything I can think of short of reformatting, which I'm not totally opposed to except for the fact I lost my Vista disk a few months ago.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a very similar issue on a fresh installation of Windows 7, which I've detailed here. What worked for me:
Downloaded a fresh copy of the install package (mine was from Nov 2008) and unpacked it to the default location on the desktop
Deactivated and removed the registration number from one of the suite products that was installed (which deactivates the entire suite)
Uninstalled the entire CS4 suite
Rebooted
Ran the new install package from the default location (as Administrator)
Chose the default installation options
Did not enter the registration number during install
Did not touch the computer until it was done

Cannot Install CS4. Please Help!!

I downloaded a 10 segment CS4 package from my university software site. My download window shows all parts were downloaded sucessfully but I cannot install. Bear with me, I'm still in computer "tech" learning and lingo. They are all .dmg extenstions. When I try to open, say, part 1, there is a warning saying "no mountable file systems". Try to open part 2, and warning says "missing parts 1,3, 9" though they are present. I ran Adobe Support Advisor and it said that I needed to update a certain font, but wouldn't tell me which one. I ran the download through Firefox, if that matters. I looked through their support forums and found no help. Can someone please help?? I've spent hours trying to install this. I'm about ready to give up and scrap it, but I really need some of the Suite, especiallly Illustrator.

Cannot Install CS4 suite

I have checked these forums as well as googled the problem. Nothing helps.
I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Trying to install CS4. It gives me 1603 error. I followed all the guidelines.
Cleaned anything with the name adobe out of the system (even plash player and reader). Even clean script found nothing to remove
cleaned temp folders.
have 30g free space.
Running the install as vista administrator
Restarted 100+ times.
NOTHING HELPS.
This is by far the worst installation package made by adobe. CS3 was soooo much more easier and never had a slightiest problem on Vista or XP.

Well after several tries I may have finaly got some of it.
Followed adobe instuctions and some other points found on the web.
Running as an Administrator,
First uninstalled the previous attempt of cs4 web premium.
Downloaded and ran Windows Cleanup tool.
Ran Adobe's Cleanup utility for cs4.
Ran Disk cleanup,
emptied my Recycle Bin.
Turned off UAC and Mcafee's firewall and antivirus after restarting my system.
All programs appear to have installed with the exception of Adobe Air which came up with an error during installation. Not sure how this will effect my programs, but I was able to open Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I will have to test them out and see if they work. But at least I was able to get this far.

You are likely to have a newer version of Safari installed already. So the Updater will refuse to install the older version. A requirement for specific system version does not automatically include all above releases as well. It says it require 10.4.2 and not "10.4.2 or above".
Safari version 1.2 was for Panther (Mac OS X 10.3.x) only.

I have FB4 and Flash Pro CS5 installed and get the message "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5"

Hi,
I have installed both FB4 and Flash CS5 as trial versions. I installed FB4 as a plugin into eclipse Gallileo and then installed CS5. When trying to create a new Flash Project in Eclipse I get the message "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5 or higher to be installed.", although CS5 is installed.
I tried reinstalling FB4 but it didn't help.
If FB4 is installed as standalone, then its eclipse IDE has no problem creating new Flash Projects.
Any idea why the plugin doesn't detect my Flash Pro CS5 installation?

Ipod Touch 4G Camera... Getting sick of this

Sorry if I sound a bit rude... I'm just completely frustrated with trying to get this thing fixed...
Alright. I've asked this on various sites, and i'm constantly getting sick of the fact that no one will answer, or tells me the exact same thing, to restore the Ipod to Factory Settings, or Power it off for a while. None of it works...
I've had my Ipod Touch 4G since the end of Summer, because my old one died out, and for a month or so, the Camera / Video Camera worked fine. After a month ( and it still continues now ) the camera doesn't work anymore...
If I click on Camera, it won't open up, it'll stay frozen, and the bottom will flicker.
I've seen MULTIPLE threads on various sites about this issue, and no one gives an answer that helps at all. Restoring the Ipod, or powering it off, doesn't work. Period.
Can someone please give me an answer here as to how I can fix the camera, and get it to open ( Also, I bought various apps to see if they would work, they don't. )

If multiple apps don't work with the camera, chances are it's a hardware issue, which means nothing you can fix yourself. Since you said you just bought it this Summer, it should still be under warranty so you can have the part replaced at the Apple Store.

OMG I'm getting sick of this Java disk permission problem!

I have Snow Leopard in my 2006 Intel 2.0 Duo Mac. I see many people writing about the same problem for months now. On my computer I totally reinstalled eveything a couple months ago. Many times I can not shut down and then tonight I couldn't get to my iMovies or into Photoshop. Every time this happens I use disk utilities and repair permissions. It comes up with lots of Java stuff needing repairs. After the repair permissions is over it works okay again until a couple of daysfrom and and here we go again. geeeeeeeeze! I'm getting tired of this. I have read many a posts regarding this and I'm wondering will this problem ever be fixed?
I wish I had the money to buy a new computer but I don't. If it's because of my old computer then I wish Apple would just let me know that fact. Anyone know of any fixes?

Repairing permissions won't solve this problem. The information you see when you verify or repair permissions aren't errors that need repairing, they're just messages.
If you see anything SUID related when verifying permissions, that can be ignored > Mac OS X: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore
If you can't shut down your Mac, you may have one or more apps still running. If necessary, you can "force quit" apps. Open the Activity Monitor app located in /Applications/Utilities. Select My Processes from the pop up menu top right corner of the window. Select the app then click the red force quit button.
How much free space on the startup disk? Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

If that is correct, then your iMac's system software is woefully outdated.
When you have problems with multiple applications (ie., PhotoShop, iMovie) the startup disk may need repairing.

However, when i try to create Flash Professional component for use in Flex as specified in the the workflow video to (i.e. copy a .fla to
Flex Project lib directory or drag "custom" Flash Professional component onto state to link to Flash Pro) - I get the "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5"
error mesage.
