Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

I'm running a desktop PC with Windows Vista Premium. I had
Dreamweaver 8 installed and want to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3. So
I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8 and ran the setup for CS3. After the
setup extracted all he necessary setup files I saw a message saying
"initializing setup" and then...nothing. Setup just quit. I tried
several times. I've never installed any of the CS3 beta
versions...but I ran the CS3 cleanup anyway. No luck. Searched the
registry for any extra Dreamweaver entries. Nothing. The only Adobe
software I have installed is Acrobat 8 Pro and Photoshop CS2. Just
can't get Dreamweaver CS3 to install. Any ideas?

See if this helps:

Search for the post by gorodek about modifying the

It seems to have solved the problem for several Photoshop
users, and it's
solved the problem for some DW users as well.

  • Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Mac

    I have a MacBook, OS X 10.5.8.  Processor:  2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo  Memory:  2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Mac and have had no luck.   There is no "Setup" as specified in the help I've found.   There is Setup.exe, but that just opens in TextEdit.   I've tried snooping on the disc but have found nothing that will execute.
How on earth do I install this software???
    Thank you!
    Paula

Well if you recently bought it try returning it or stop payment on your credit card.  All discs from Adobe recently (going back probably to CS2) carry one version or the other.  And given that you just got CS3 tells me the version was purchased off of Ebay, Craigslist or some other form of reselling because all commercial sales channels will be selling only CS4 at this point in time.

  • Cannot install dreamweaver cs3 design premium on iMac

I purchased a new iMac and used the migration assistant to migrate everything from another iMac and now I cannot open dreamweaver anymore. I just get a blank error box.
Both iMacs are intel based and are running 10.2.7 (latest OS) and I never had any issues with dreamweaver on the other computer.
Since I can't afford the $1000 to upgrade my CS3 Design Premium, I need to get this working. I can open all other CS3 apps with no problems, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash.. but Dreamweaver has the error box popup.
I tried calling but Adobe doesn't provide support for their products after a new product version is released, according to Rajish the customer service rep.
I tried installing from the disk too, but that didn't work either, it gives me an error that says "Required resources are missing" and then I have to click the Quit button.
So I'm stuck, I can't use Dreamweaver unless I can somehow re-install it, or figure out what didn't migrate properly. Any ideas?
*stressed out... and chocolate is not helping....

Cyberious are you using 10.7.2 or 10.2.7?  Most likely it is an issue with using the Migration Assistant.  For complicated programs like Adobe products it is best to do a fresh install instead of migrating the product over.  Users who use the Migration Assistant often face issues such as yours.
You have a couple different options:
The first and easiest would be to format and reinstall the OS on your new Mac.  Then run the Migration Assistant again this time only bringing over your documents and settings.  You will then want to reinstall the software from your installation media.
Second you can try running the uninstaller located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  After this is done you will want to run the CS5 Cleaner tool.  For details regarding how to use and obtain the cleaner tool I would recommend reviewing CS5 Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.  You can then again install from the installation media.
I honestly would recommend going with option 1.  In the over decade and half I have been doing support some of the worst issues have come from the use of Migration Assistants/EZ Setup solutions.  I have seen people literarily spend hours trying to resolve their difficulties.

  • Problem on install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista

I tried to install Dearmweaver CS3 on Microsoft window
    buisness 6.0.6001
but when the insaller startup is apear for a seconds then
    disapear
i tried to search in the forums but all problems there after
    this step

Here is another solution if the first one doesnt work.
"This solution posted by gorodek on the Adobe forums helped
    me out with the
problem where the installer just dies with no error message
    or warning.
    1. Start the Setup as usual and let it copy over a few files
    and than -
after a short popup - let him disappear. There shouldn't be
    any other errors
except the described above, otherwise you have to deal with
    these first (eg.
run the cleanup script, if the setup complains about an
    already running
    installation etc).
    2. Now open up your Windows Explorer and go to
    C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Adobe\Installers\c14ac4070fd9614ffe63f4bb533db2c\resources\common\scripts
    3. Locate a file called "ContainerProxy.js" in the opened
    Window and open it
    with Notepad.
    4. Go to line 1102 or simply search for
    "jsonObj =
    _jsonToObject(window.external.SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
    and replace this line with
    "jsonObj = _jsonToObject(SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
    5. Save the file.
    6. Startup up the installation process by launching Setup.exe
    from this
    path:
    C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Adobe\Installers\c14ac4070fd9614ffe63f4bb533db2c\Setup.exe
This time the installer shouldn't quit and hopefully you will
    be able to
    install.
The random hex-number differs on each system I found out. Now
    Setup runs.
Let's hope I don't run into any other problems.
Make sure the syntax is exact when you make the java script
    code
    modification.
    "jsonObj = _jsonToObject(SetSessionInitialized(initValue));"
Make sure there's a space before and after the "=".

  • My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3

My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3. I have my license but I cannot find a copy of the software. I found some comments that Adobe is not making it available for download. I would like to continue to use this version.  Anyone have any ideas on where I can find a copy of Dreamweaver CS3?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
    and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Problems installing Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, I've been trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Vista
computer, home premium and I've already spent numerous hours
    installing and uninstalling the product!
The problem is that the installer fails to install Adobe Cue
    Client CS3.
I've googled the problem and found that logs were generated
    on a gzip file on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
    as i've read here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401401&sliceId=1
All anti-virus (NOD32) and firewalls (COMODO) are disabled.
Like the page suggests I've uninstalled all products from
Adobe, except Acrobat 8 and and run the CS3cleaner scripts provided
by you, in level 2, to clean all files from my computer, as a page
    from adobe recommends too.
I've alse run tried to run the installer as administrator,
    with the same results.
I provide the install log from Adobe Dreamweaver on link
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/s27cuj,
from the last PayloadInstaller that failed to install.
On event manager the error is logged like this:
    quote:
Product: Adobe Version Cue CS3 Client -- Error 1920.Service
    ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## (Bonjour
Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient
    privileges to start system services.
How can I solve this problem??

I would recommend calling as well. I ran into a similar
problem on the Mac side and they have information to provide you
beyond the KB articles. Although I have just decided to do without
it since I really did not utilize its functionality so if you feel
the same I would recommend not using the program as well.

  • I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows 8 it says "The Installer Database is corrupt"

I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows 8 PC and when I run SETUP.EXE it says "The Installer Database is corrupt" on both my original CD and backup I made.

    The error is here:
Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows 8 PC
This will most likely never work. CS3 wasn't even fit for Win 7. Delete the caps.db in the respective caps folder (info here) and then take the usual steps of running as admin, turning off UAC and security tools and possibly using compatibility modes, but as I said, be prepared that this may be futile and you spend a Sunday afternoon without achieving anything...

  • Cannot install ps CS3

base problem: Cannot install Photoshop CS3, it keeps asking for Illustrator CS4 disc.
    Story:
I purchased photoshop cs3 a while back. Upgraded to a better computer and purchased Illustrator CS4. I installed illustrator CS4 BEFORE installing Photoshop CS3 on the new machine.  When I went to install PS CS3, it asked for the IllCS4 disc. I put it in, and nothing. Round and round. asking for the PS CS3 disc, then the Ill CS4 disc etc...
Read the forums, found a thread about uninstalling Ill CS4 then trying PS CS3.  I did that. I used the WinCS4CleanUpDatabaseUtility, and used the Windows install clean up utility as well.
However, after all this, when i try to install PS CS3, it continues to ask me for the Ill CS4 disc.
    Can anyone please assist.
    thank you

Please check, if you really deleted all Adobe apps (including Adobe Reader etc.) and the caps.db is deleted. it can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps. It records any installs/uninstalls, so if it#s still there, it would still have info on previous CS4 stuff which may interfere with getting CS3 on the system.

  • I cannot install Dreamweaver CS5.5 on my new laptop.

It requires I install Dreamweaver CS3 which I did. Then Dreamweaver 3 requires yet another install of something I have not had for 10 years. So I am unable to use Dreamweaver. What a load of you know what. I know software pirating is an issue but this is beyond absurd. I purchased upgrades over the years and have the license keys for the upgrades (CS3 and CS5.5) now find out they are worthless.

Not true in my case. Here is what I did:
Downloaded DreamWeaver CS5.5 and installed it. It asked for my key.
I installed the CS5.5 key and was told it was not a valid key.
Contacted support and was told to enter the DreamWeaver CS3 key.
Entered the CS3 key and was informed that the system could not find any evidence of CS3 on my laptop.
    Downloaded and installed CS3.
Entered the key for CS3 and was told I needed the key for yet another older, long gone, product.
Uninstalled DreamWeaver (all versions) and every other Adobe product.
Purchased replacement products for the now gone Adobe products.
Began working on learning the new apps.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 in Vista 64 and Windows 7

I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista 64 and Windows 7 Pro for about 2 months now.
When I go to set up a new Site Definition and select a Local root folder, I find I have to go down an extra directory in order to get Dreamweaver to select the directory I want as root. (example: have to select the image directory).
Windows 7 is out officially now, I wonder if this problem has been fix in CS4, and how CS4 preforms on Windows 7.
I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support.  If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?
What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?

  • Need help re-installing Dreamweaver CS3

My computer was restored to an earlier point, and it basically deleted all of the downloaded software and kept all my files & folders. When I go to re-install Dreamweaver CS3 back onto my computer, it does not work. It says it was installed, but it's no where on my computer. Dreamwever CS3 was installed fine before my computer restored itself.
How do I get Dreamweaver CS3 back on my computer. I still have my serial number.
    Thank you.

    Hi jbelletto24,
try running CSClear script to remove any registry or file . Then try re-installation.
You can get the script here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
    Hope this helps.
    ThanksYou,

  • How do I install Dreamweaver CS3?

I've been using Dreamweaver CS3 on my MacBook. I just bought an iMac and want to install the same program there. I downloaded the installer from my Adobe account, but it says I need a CD to install, even though I originally bought the program online and don't have a CD. Is there something I don't know about installing the program?

Well, I assumed that if I bought online, then a digital copy would always be available online. Other sites I have bought software from still have live links even though I might not have downloaded from them for five plus years. I did it only just a week back actually.
With downloads, I always burn a copy to DVD, but if three years and one day down the line I am still using the software as a main source of income, then my house burns down, I've lost both my hard copy and the online digital copy too.
By all means stop support for something that is so old because it is going to take up staff resources, but to enable a piece of software to be downloaded after a three year period is not going to impact on their day-to-day operations other than having to allow for disk space for storage. In fact, it takes effort to have disable the ability to download it whether it be an automatic or human instigated process.
If you speak with adobe staff at a trade show, they help you with any help you might need on older versions... but I guess that's because you are in their face while asking the question!
