Cannot install Elements 10 until I close Dynamiclinkmanager

While installing Elements 10 the installation shuts down and receive the following message: ERROR: DW046: Following Conflicting processes were running -
block:dynamiclinkmanager
I cannot locate the dynamiclinkmanager to shut it down....where is it?? How do I install this program?

This is a new reply to an OLD question. Sorry....I just encountered the problem today trying to apply an Adobe update. But maybe it will be useful to a future reader searching on the same problem.
Most of the replies, even from Adobe people, say to just terminate the dynamiclinkmanager process. I hate terminating any process that I don't know what it does. Maybe the thing has important files open? What could happen if I kill it?.
In my case, I made sure to "Quit" all open Adobe applications (Br, DW, Ai, Ps, Pr, etc). After closing these programs, dynamiclinkmanager "disappeared". So I would suggest making sure there are no open Adopbe apps. If that doesn't work, then nuke the sucker :-)

• Cannot install elements 10 on win 8.1. I get a message to download adobe support advisor to detect the problem. When I try this, I get a message that Adobe Support Advisor is discontinued

I had elements 10 on a laptop and want to install on my desktop. I downloaded the program and get a message that it cannot be installed, possibly due to missing files. It says to download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. When I do, I get a message that Adobe Support Advisor is discontinued.

you need the matching exe file, too. both should be placed in the same directory and then click the exe.

Hi toodlefink,
Sorry for any frustration caused by this. There was an issue with some of the Shared Technologies, and to fix it you need to update the installer. The instructions for doing so are here: http://adobe.ly/KB92579

• Cannot install Elements 13. "Sign-In Required" leads to stalled window.

How can I get my new copy of PEPE Elements 13 installed? I have been requesting a chat help for nearly two hours now, to no avail. When I try to install the programs, I get the "Sign-In Required" window, enter my Adobe ID info on the following window, click the blue "SIGN IN" button and watch the blue square chase the black ones ad infinitum. I have wasted literally hours - even days - trying to find a solution. HELP! After all, I PAID for the program and its seemingly-endless frustration trying to get what I PAID FOR installed. (yes, I am shouting a few words - and keeping other more choice expressions to myself!).

Stopping at shared technologies. I have been trying for days. I think i just want my money back

Hi there,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
If you are using a downloaded installer, or running the installation from the hard drive, the Shared Technologies can fail because of the installation path. Copy the installation files to a folder to the root of the drive, such as C:\PSE<versionnumber>Installer\, and rerun the installation.
If this doesn't work, then please check the checklist available in this below forum:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/569663?tstart=0
If everything is fine, please follow the steps mentioned in the below forum:

• Firefox tries to install update then says cannot install update because you have to close another Firefox window, repeats every minute. Doesn't stop.

Update cannot install, says I must close any other Firefox window. (No other window open ) Cannot install update because another Firedox window is open.Since a recent update occured, You Tube videos flicker and browser favorites flicker. There is a flash card speed adjustment. The Flash Player and Firefox is not in sync.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update not working properly)
Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
(%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates)
Do a clean reinstall:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

• When I open a second Profile while another is running the second cannot access the Internet until I close the first. Why?

I often have occasions to run more than one Profile simultaneously (usually because of different add-ons I've installed on different Profiles). In the past this worked fine. Now, all of a sudden, if I open a second Profile while the first is running the second cannot access the Internet until I close the first. It keeps looking for a website, and failing, until the system "times out". If I close the first Profile, the second is then able to access the Internet.
Note: this is not a problem with opening a second Window in Firefox. As long as they are from the same Profile they will both work fine. Nor does this stop me from using a second Profile to look at website files I have saved to my computer. The only problem is that the second Profile cannot get on the Internet.

I just checked, the setting was for "Automatic proxy configuration URL", in the past it was set on "No Proxy". So I'll try changing that (and/or try other proxy options), and see if that solves the problem.
If it does, then just one (academic) question remains: why did that happen in the first place? I don't care what the answer is, so long as your suggestion solves the problem.
Thanks.

• Cannot install Photoshop Elements 10.

Cannot install Photoshop Elements 10.
I had the trial of Photoshop Elements 10, but uninstalled it a few days before trying this install.
I’m trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 but when I run setup it wants to uninstall it first and it fails to do that, stopping with “Error 1402 – Could not open key”. It then rolls back the install and ends. I purchased the boxed bundled version of Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10. How can I get it to install without trying to uninstall first, as it is not really installed anymore?

I have Windows Pro 64-bit.
I have gotten past the problem of it wanting to uninstall first. The install proceeds as it should until it is almost done then I get an error and it rolls back. The error is:
Error 1402 could not open key. UNKNOWN\components\da42bc89bf25f5bd0af18c3b9b1a1ee8\9fa945eeaaf84854382bce1fcbd91cff
