I am getting error 2330?  when trying to connect
ipod to sync or trying to update Itunes on my windows computer.  Finally uninstalled Quicktime and Itunes on computer, now I have No Itunes on computer and a nonfunctioning empty (reset) Ipod touch...  I've tried to update multiple times, uninstalled...On Ipod have soft reset, erased and done full reset, tried to restore ipod from cloud and it gave me an error that it could not be restored from the cloud.  Very very frustrating.  All I have left working is my brand new Ipad sigh.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

    I am getting error 2330?
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Cannot install free app on 2nd ipod

In my iTunes account I have 2 iPods.  I have downloaded a free app and installed it on iPod 1.  When I try and add it to iPod 2 it doesn't work. In the view of Apps already on this ipod, it shows as already installed.  however it is not.  If I click Remove, then Sync, it doesn't change.  It still says it is already installed.  If I drag the icon of the app from the list on the left to the iPod on the left and then Sync, it does not add it.
    Please help.

    - Have you used the Spotlight search to find it? Maybe you just can't find it.
    Nex try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all apps and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT4972 i cannot install any apps on my ipod

I am trying to download apps from appstore but when I touch the install button nothing happens it just stays on the same screen? what should I do?

Wait until Apple fixes their problem. It started a couple of days ago and appears to applies to iOS 3.1.3 devices only. In the meantime just purchase on your computer and sync to your iPod.

  • Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

    Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S.  users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
    Any ideas?
    Christian

I am actually seing it in Canada.
Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.
Another good example, go see this App for the BBC, first thing they say: Exclusive to the UK.

Simple, one line says it all.

  • Can anyone tell why I cannot install drivers for my IPOD Clasic

I have iTunes installed and I cannot install drivers for my IPOD Classic while using windows vista 64 bit?

Download the apps on your syncing computer and then sync to the iPod. Note that you can only sync apps for the one syncing computer you use with the iPod. You can manage music and videos among different computer.

  • New ipod - "cannot install this hardware" and "access is denied"

Over the weekend I got a new iPod Video. Previously I had an iPod Photo. This new one plugged in just fine on my two computers at home but will not install to my work computer.
It will work as I can play and transfer files through iTunes, but everytime I plug it in I get USB errors:
"Windows cannot install this hardware - access is denied"
In the Device Manager it gives me a "Code 28"
Like I said, it does seem to work, I just want to make sure this isn't going to screw anything up when I plug in each day and get these errors.

iPods use the standard Windows USB mass storage drivers. it is possible for those to go walkabout on a PC. if that is what has happened to you, the techniques from this MarkJones post may be of some assistance:

Some of those error message numbers are a bit of a blast from the past. (especially the 0x80040707.)
    Try the following procedure:
go into your Add/Remove programs, and uninstall every entry you find in there called "ipod for windows {date}" or "ipod updater {date}".
if Add/Remove won't let you remove one of those, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to remove the installation configuration of any entries called "ipod for windows {date}" or "ipod updater {date}". (Launch CleanUp, find those entries in the list of programs given in CleanUp, select the relevant entries and then click "Remove".)

I am very disappointed that I spent a lot of $$; now Apple wants me to spend $$ again to get a new one. As I mentioned, I am pretty upset. Does anyone know if there's a work around?

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

I Cannot re-install the software on my ipod touch.
First time I got the following message: "Unknown error occurred(6).
The last time I got the following message: "Unknown error occured (1604).

    Can you help.
    Thanks in advance.

No, you shouldn't lose the stuff on your ipod. If you have synced your ipod recently, itunes would have made a backup file of all of your settings and files on the ipod. This is used when you restore.
Plug your ipod in and the screen that pops up in itunes will have a button to "restore". This will wipe everything off the ipod, reinstall the firmware and then reload all of your stuff. itunes will use the most recent backup file to reload everything. about halfway through the process, itunes will ask you if you want to restore as a new ipod or use a backup... choose the backup.
Be patient, it takes a while, but when it's done your ipod should be good as new.

  • Cannot install iPod

This is perhaps a problem that has been answered many times before, so apologies if this is the case.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop and have installed all software from the iPod CDROM. The laptop has a USB 2.0, power save mode on the ports has been disabled.
The iPod is a 60GB version.
When I connect the iPod, the PC freezes most times. Only when I disconnect the iPod can I use the PC again. And even then I have had to reinstall Windows as the system has become unstable.
The iPod charges, but the "Do Not Disconnect" message is the only message that appears - for two days now.
iPod does not appear in My Computer nor in iTunes. iPod Updater shows "No iPod connected". I have tried each and every work around in the Apple documentation. Two long nights trying each one.
Does anyone have any suggestions? At this rate, I will be returning it and asking for a refund.
Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you for the link.
After following the steps in the document, and having reconnected the iPod, the laptop was frozen for a good five minutes, but the Restore option in iPod Updater finally activated.......and......after......a......very.....long fifteen minutes of a frozen laptop, the Restore was complete!
It still has not appeared in the Source list on iTunes, but given how long it took for the Restore to start perhaps it will need more than the 15 minutes it has taken so far?
    Thanks again for your help!

  • "iTunes cannot read the contents of the ipod", How can I fix this?

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with my iPod touch 32GB and getting iTunes to detect it. I'm using Windows 7.
When plugging it in tonight, I got the message "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod (Name). Go to the summary tab in the iPod preferences and click restore to restore this iPod to factory settings". I attemped to do this, but I then got an iTunes error "3184" and was unable to install the iPod software.
    I've tried...
    - Using a different computer
    - Using a different USB cable
    - Rebooting the iPod
Nothing seems to work. I've read a solution as to delete one of the iTunes files on the iPod, but the iPod doesn't show up in my Windows Explorer, so I am unable to do this. The computer does however charge the battery when I have the iPod plugged in. I'm also able to still listen to music on the iPod as well.
One other note, I had the same thing happen to my previous iPod touch. I got my original iPod touch back in December 2010. In October 2011, the iPod just died one day and I was not able to turn it on at all or charge it. When I'd plug it into the computer, I got the exact same errors and was unable to restore the iPod. I sent it in to Apple as it was still under warrenty and they sent me a replacement. Now 3 months later it's happened again. Of course the warrenty starts from the day you purchase the original, so this is no longer under warrenty despite having it for only 3 months. The only difference this time is that the battery still charges and I can still turn it on and listen to music.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    hi Angie!

  • I cannot install Itunes 10.1.1 on Windows 7 x64...

    Hi all!!
I bought my ipod touch two days ago. But I cannot install iTunes on my pc.
I downloaded Itunes for x64 pc and I ran it as admin. So it starts and it stops ends the installation process and saying me -in italian language- "Si sono verificati errori prima che iTunes potrebbe essere configurato. Il sistema non è stato modificato". In english language it means: "Troubles occurred before iTunes could be set up".
I tried to delete "Temp" folder in appdata/local.
    I'm a bit sad...

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
