Cannot install iTunes 11.4 on xp sp3, no error messages

I couldn't install the latest iTunes on xp sp3 laptop. Installation went fine and no error message, but iTunes is not installed while Bonjour and other components are installed. There is no iTunes folder in program files. This is baffling. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks.

Hello ffayyca,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I'd like you to please uninstall iTunes and all of its components, and then do a fresh install.

I cannot install iTunes on Windows 7 I receive the Error 7 (Windows Error 193).
I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times but with no luck.  Does anyone have another option?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the above steps haven't helped try installing:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for a 32-bit core program, similar to previous 64-bit releases of iTunes.
    Or roll back to:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
    as appropriate.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Tell us more about the disk and partition onto which you are trying to install Mountain Lion:
Open Disk Utility (in Applications > Utilities). The left column should show your disk with its partition(s) indented below it:
How is the disk (top level container) formatted according to Disk Utility:
    * What Partiton Map Scheme? (Should be "GUID Partition Table".)
    * How many partitions? (Should be 1 unless you have a Boot Camp partition.)
How is the partition (lower level container) formatted according to Disk Utility? (Should be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".)

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

(If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Updateentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

I cannot install iTunes on my computer. Error code -45075

I used to have the same problem, and found a solution. It is very simple, ,just follow these steps below
Open the 'computer' file, found on start or might be on your desktop.
Click the C: drive, found on the left where theres a list of things such as favorites, desktop, etc
    Locate 'Users' and open it.
    Click your username
Go to AppData. (if its not there: on top, where theres 'File | Home | Share | View', click view, and then on the Show/Hide column, place a check by Hidden Items)
    Click 'Local'
    Locate Temp, and click it.
Highlight all the files and delete them. There might be some that you cant delete, but thats fine, just click 'skip'
Restart your computer, and it will be fixed!
    Hope I helped

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up +en passant.+
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. Do they fail to install? If so, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 0x8007054Fs, or are you getting different error codes?

  • ITUNES WILL NOT LOAD, I get an error message which tells me to re-install iTunes.tried on several occasions with same error message.

I am operating windows XP and iTunes will not open. An error message is telling me that files are missing and to reload iTunes. I tried to but error reoccurs. Tried removing the iTunes and erasing all iTunes files and re-installing but same error message occurs? Has anybody had the same problem?

    Hello Roadster44,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with reinstalling iTunes.  I recommend following the steps below:
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components, may have unintended affects. If you encounter an error while uninstalling, try repairing the affected component:
    2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled In most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. To fully resolve these issues, manually remove any remaining iTunes-related folders listed below. On 32-bit and 64-bit systems:On 64-bit systems:
    3. Reboot your computer.
    4. Download the iTunes installer. When prompted to select what you want to do, choose to save it to your computer.
    5. Install iTunes.
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Select the 'Run as administrator' option.
Windows XP: Select the Open option.
    Finish installing iTunes.
It is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the first step.

  • Cannot Install ATM on OS9.2 I get an error message

Message: "a reference in the file points past the end of that file (-39)."
Anything I can do about that?

Every time I launch ATM Deluxe. After I get the error message, it does not launch.
    Hi, Mark -
You haven't mentioned when the -39 error happens.
If this is with regard to ATM Light 4.6.2a, or a
downloaded copy of ATM Deluxe 4.6.1a -
If it is during the download process, try this -
double-click Stuffit Expander, and open its
Preferences (under the File menu). Select "Disk
Images" from the list on the left, then turn off
"Mount Disk Images". Quit Stuffit Expander.
If it is when attempting to run the installer, you
may have a damaged download. Redownloading it would
    be the solution for that.
If it is with regard to ATM Deluxe being installed
from a CD, be sure the CD is clean - a finger smudge
    can interfere.
    <hr>
A prevalence of -39 errors can also indicate
directory damage to the hard drive. First step in
checking for that is to boot to your most recent OS 9
Install CD and run Disk First Aid from the Utilities
folder on the CD. Let DFA have a look at the drive,
and let it repair what it can.

  • TS3212 Cannot install iTunes to my PC running Windows Vista. Message "The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory....Log on as administrator." I am logged on as administrator. I am attempting to install from download by right-clicki

I've had iTunes on my PC forever. Because recent updates have aborted with the message:"The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory... Log on as administrator," I am now attempting to download a fresh copy from the Apple website. Same message! I am logged on as administrator. I can download, then attempt to run by right-clicking on the installer and selecting, "Run as administrator" but that gets me only to the same point (and message) as attempting to install directly from the internet. I've never seen this message with any other download. What gives?

What's the precise name of the directory being mentioned? (Give the full file path, please.)
