Cannot install iTunes 7 (re: InstallShield Isscript error message)
I keep getting the message that my ISScript.msi engine in InstallShield on my PC is too old and needs to be upgraded in order to successfully download iTunes 7. However, the error message continues to persist and foil the iTunes installation even after updating with the correct ISScript engine. I even replaced my InstallShield folder with the InstallShield folder from my laptop where I was able to download iTunes 7. This did not work either...Nothing seems to help....PLEASE HELP

just doublechecking, chapkit. did you use the following set of instructions when you installed the fresh engine, or did you use a different set?

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Every time I try to install Itunes I get an error message saying it is unable to start services and to verify that I have sufficient privileges. I am the administrator. I've been having the same issues for the past year and a half. I've spent 6-8months trying to figure it out. Went to various Itunes stores with pictures on my Iphone per each step so I could relay all information that I'd come across and the personnel were less than helpful, after conversations that would sometimes last an hour between myself, employees and managers they always came back to "simply uninstall then reinstall" when I told them for the thousanth time that I've done that multiple times and my errors are happening while trying to reinstall it they act stumped and say "well then I'm not sure, I'll give you a call if I figure it out" and disappear. I've been very disatisfied at the lack of support from Apple and if Android to piece together a reletively reliable phone I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. I'll follow this question incase someone can answer this, but I don't have much faith.
BTW, wifey has Windows 7 running on the laptop and my phone syncs just fine to that and no trouble with itunes, just mine (desktop). -
When I install itunes I received an error message like this:The exception unknown software exception (0Xc06007e) ocurred in the application at location 0x7c812afb. After the installation the computer is showing the message every time.
If you update your QuickTime Player, does that clear up the iTunes message?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I have a windows 7 premium laptop, 64 bit driver, have tried to install itunes but recieve an error when trying to open. Error states "Apple Application Support is required to run itunes. uninstall and reinstall again, error 2 (windows error 2). have tried this 4-5 times with no success. help!

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if AAS won't install normally.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
