Cannot install itunes on computer

I don't have internet on computer. I downloaded itunes newest version and saved to flash drive. When i try to install onto computer, I get this error message.
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows your running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher." I have already deleted all previous itunes that was on the computer so thats not the problem. I know i don't need internet to install itunes onto computer because it worked for me before. If anyone could help me out I would appriciate it. Thanks

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I cannot install iTunes on my computer. Error code -45075

I used to have the same problem, and found a solution. It is very simple, ,just follow these steps below
Open the 'computer' file, found on start or might be on your desktop.
Click the C: drive, found on the left where theres a list of things such as favorites, desktop, etc
Locate 'Users' and open it.
Click your username
Go to AppData. (if its not there: on top, where theres 'File | Home | Share | View', click view, and then on the Show/Hide column, place a check by Hidden Items)
Click 'Local'
Locate Temp, and click it.
Highlight all the files and delete them. There might be some that you cant delete, but thats fine, just click 'skip'
Restart your computer, and it will be fixed!
Hope I helped

It will work with Windows 7 32 bit. On a 64 bit you will have to install Windows XP Mode. You can download it from the Microsoft Website. The XP Mode will run Windows XP in 32 bit. Microsoft has easy instructions on the download. One download at a time. Install the first download then the second download. You will have to copy your icon from all program and paste to the desktop if you are going to use it often.

• I cannot install itunes on windows 8.1

I cannot install itunes on my Toshiba Laptop with windows 8.1. I kept getting error 7. So i removed all of the itunes files from my computer, and did everything the install troubleshooting page suggested, but it still will not install, but now instead of error 7, I am getting error 2.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

• Cannot install iTunes on windows 7 64bit

Okay, I like so many cannot install iTunes on Windows 7 64bit.
Now Orginally I got a message saying something to the effect of:
There was a problem with the install you do not have permission for something...
Through some investigating my iTunes was being installed and removing all my permissions to view and/or modify files within that folder. Even if I was logged in as admin and installed as admin all the permissions would simply block me out.
This kind of had a familar feeling as in the last few versions of iTunes I had to run as admin just to open it (this is really annoying by the way)
So I searched the net and many people were saying to uninstall everything "Apple" and try again. So I did that. Now I have this new message:
there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
And again I scoured the internet for a way to fix this. I apparently am supposed to goto Control Pannel/Programs and Features and select Apple Software Update and select repair. The problem is that no longer exists in my programs list since I removed it in the earlier step. iTunes still refuses to install spitting out the same error forever. I tried the Microsoft "fix it" tool which is supposed to remove the Apple Software Update incomplete uninstall (which is apparently the whole problem) but it doesn't show up in the list for "fixing".
I am at a loss. Why doesn't Apple fix this. I cannot update my iPhone to the latest software in fear I may need to restore it. With no iTunes that is impossible. I cannot change any of my music or do anything until this is resolved. If/when iPhone 5 comes out I cannot get it either unless this issue is taken care of somhow.
I searched for an installer for just the Apple Software Update program But it seems to not exist as a standalone thing (it would be useful if it were though). If it were perhaps I could install it again and then successfully remove/repair it and iTunes might install finally.
Now I have had previous versions of iTunes working perfectly fine. I do not recall which version I was using before I tried to update and fell into this abyss however.

Yes b noir. I've tried running just "iTunes64.msi" from the command-line and while it didn't produce the same error "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vender." it produced a different error in bold-type "iTunes Installer Completed" then "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured...Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified...Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit". However, I discovered a wealth of options from the Windows Installer to try after typing "iTunes64.msi passive"...So I'll experiment some more when I have time.
P.S. I'm becoming more convinced that Apple is putting new software out there to get it debugged which was a trick that MicroSoft always seemed to do:-)

• Cannot install iTunes on my Win7Pro PC for several months after a long time w/o problems. Uninstalled iTunes Bonjour with no improvement. Help?

Since October 2011 I cannot update iTunes when I receive an Apple UD notice (Win7Pro PC). I have also lost communication with my iPod Touch. In all cases I have attempted to download the latest version of iTunes. Yeasterday I uninstalled iTunes & Bonjour. I still cannot install iTunes. What can be done to allow iTunes to install?

If you want to do complete reinstall, please follow following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

Apple offer this advice which I guess is not much help to you as you have Norton:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1609?viewlocale=en_US
I wonder if it is worth looking in the your firewall configuration>>Programs and deleting any entry for Bonjour - in the hope that you will be prompted to allow it or not when you do the install, or maybe adding it back with permit all.
But someone came up with another possible solution at the end of this thread:

• Cannot install iTunes on XP Professional

I cannot install iTunes on my computer.Whenever I try to install the program I get the following errors:
- the first one:
ERROR 1406 COULD NOT ADD VALUE TO KEY
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\.cdda\OpenWithList\
iTunes.s.exe
-the second error appears after I click on ingnore/retry:
ERROR 1402 COULD NOT OPEN KEY
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\.cdda\OpenWithProdigs
and the last error:
ERROR1603 FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION
Consult windows installer help...
What should I do?

I fixed my problem (Itunes 6.0) by running regedit.
In windows:
Start / Run
Type regedit and press ok
Locate the following folder in your registry
My Computer\HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.cdda
Right-click the .cdda folder, and choose "Permissions..."
Add or edit your useraccount, so it will have full control over .cdda and click apply.
I do have administrator rights on the machine, but the ITunes setup doesnt seem to know. Im guessing you can edit the permissions for the folder back after install... but I haven't gotten around to that yet
Hope it'll fix your install to!

• App store cannot install iTunes 11.1.4 - but says that it has done so

Bizarre behaviors
1. Cannot install iTunes 11.1.4 - App Store says that the update is available, but it also shows that it HAS been installed 3 times before! Actually it is NOT installed; 11.1.3 is installed.
2. When I clicked "Update" (for the fourth time in the last few weeks) nothing helpful happened, I could not access "About This Mac" and the computer eventually froze.
3. iWork - App Store says updates to the three ".1" versions (e.g. Numbers 3.1) are available, and also that they are installed. Actually they ARE all installed.

I'd mark this as a Solution, but for some reason, I often do not see the option to do that (I posted about that sometime ago, nobody could figure out why -- just another weirdity). • Cannot Install iTune 10.6, always rollin' back

Cannot Install iTune 10.6, always rollin' back

I have problems Installing updates all the time. Its a pain in the butt, but the way I have to install it takes a bit more than anyone elses. First you have to make sure that Any old Itunes files are deleted. The ones that were causing problems for me were
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
C:\ProgramData\Apple
C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer
BUT BEFORE YOU ERASE THOSE FILES FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW
* You're going to need Winzip or Jzip (Free- http://www.jzip.com)*
STAGE 1:
After you have winzip or jzip go ahead an choose between option 1 or 2:
OPTION 1 (IF YOU'RE UPDATNIG):
1. go to Itunes Menu bar >HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATES
2.error will occur, instructing you to go to TOOLS> DOWNLOAD ONLY
3.Go ahead and Download and save them to your Desktop.
THEN:
Go ahead and uninstall everything in this order.
Using Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Go one by one until everything is uninstalled.
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER
OPTION 2 (IF YOU'RE DOWNLOADING):
1.Go To : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download iTunesSetup.exe
2. go ahead and open the folder where the file was downloaded to
3. Right Click iTunesSetup.exe
4. Extract the files to your desktop or folder
5. IF you previously had itunes installed you will need to make sure all of these programs are uninstalled in this order
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Go one by one until everything is uninstalled.
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER if you previously had itunes installed.
STAGE 2:
Then Go ahead and look for these folders & Delete each one.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
C:\ProgramData\Apple
C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer
Once that is complete
Go ahead and click on the Itunes installer & install ITUNES
The install will roll back during Apple Mobile Device installation, but should still install.
IN ORDER TO SYNC properly do not stop there.
YOU are going to need Winzip or Jzip (what i recommend) to extract a couple of files.
First file:
Right Click on the APPLE MOBILE DEVICE installer and extract it to a New folder on your DESKTOP.
After you have done so, go ahead and open this folder
Second FIle:
In the Folder you have extracted, you will find a second file named
THIS CONTENTS OF THIS FILE MUST BE EXTRACTED AS WELL!
Extract this file to a NEW folder>>>> NAME THIS FOLDER Mobile Device Support
AND EXTRACT (OR CUT & PASTE) IT TO THIS LOCATION C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
Once you have done all of this go ahead and open Itunes
To ensure sync and everything else is working properly.
Hope this helps! in some way.
