Cannot install or update Adobe AIR

When I try to install Adobe AIR I get this error, "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." I have looked through other forums on this topic but cannot find a solution that works. I have tried uninstalling it from programs and feature, but it doesn't even show up there, I have tried running a script that Chris posted in another topic but I get an error when it starts to try and delete files, I have tried to go into the command prompt and uninstall it from there directly but no luck with that either. Tried everything and not sure what else to try if I could get some help that would be awesome.

Could you post the contents of your AIR installer log? I'll take a look and see if anything pops out at me.

How about an update install that updates Adobe Air first?

It's exasperating to deal with all the annoyances of managing CC updates. Yesterday I had to confirm my login three different times for CC applications, and that's a particular hassle since I use a strong password that I have to look up. Adobe Muse updates are very annoying since they trigger a separate install dialog for Adobe Air and that frequently means shutting down not only the file I opened that triggered the update notification, but also shutting down a Muse update in progress. Can't you sequence the notices so that Adobe Air updates get installed first? Sometimes the Adobe Air update does show up first, but frequently not. Or I get two competing dialogs to install Adobe Air.

Found the solution to many Windows Installer problems for the 64 bit version of Windows 7, including problems installing Adobe AIR. This link is to an excellent explanation of a simple Installer parameter change in the Registry that worked for AIR and for a number of Windows updates as well.

I'm on OS 10.5.8
I've downloaded the Adobe AIR Installer, but the installer always indicates that it will update Adobe AIR
Installed: 1.5.2.8870
Update: 1.5.3.9130
A spotlight search for these two log files produces nothing.
I also followed your instructions here:
Double-click the Terminal application located at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
Type cd /Users/userName.
Type echo > .airinstall.log and/or echo > .airappinstall.log "
But terminal replies with "No such file or directory"

After IOS 8 update, cannot install or update app

As my subject mentioned, after the ios 8 update, i cannot install or update app. I have done everything like calling the tech support, follow their instructions etc.. Some of the things i had done were
Soft reset ipad
Hard reset ipad
logout of itune store and login
delete everything on ipad and restore from itunes.
All these doesn't work and the problem keeps coming back again. This is frustrating that Apple would release an update like this that would break my ipad air. On top of that, quite a lot of app are not working eg zinio, evernote. My ipad air has been in this mode eversince the update release and i had mostly given up to resolve it. For all other ipad owners, if you want to avoid this anguish don't update to ios 8.

I had a similar problem when trying to install Zinio.air. I have made it all work out. What i did was remove Adobe Air 15 entirely from the Utiliites and Library/ accounts and preferences. I then downloaded Adobe Air 13 and installed and then clicked on Zinio .air and it all installed ok. I also had to temporarily change security settings from Apple approved to Anywhere. All functioning now.

Cannot uninstall or reinstall Adobe Air on XP - tried everything

I cannot uninstall or reinstall Adobe Air and now Pandora is not working. If I click the Air installer it says Air is already installed but the Pandora app says I need to install Air. If I look in add/remove programs it is not listed. I have tried the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and the Microsoft Fix it but Air does not show up in them either. I am running XP SP3. If you still cannot uninstall Adobe Reader, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove it. (But I recently heard of problems when using the cleanup tool if Office 2007 is installed.)
After removing Adobe Reader, download http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi, save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

Greetings. I re-installed CS5 when I changed the hard drive of my PC. Now I cannot install the updates although in my old setup, I had no problem and was able to update to CS5.5.
Should I download and install CS5.5 manually on top of CS5?

Each time I turned on the computer I would get the message that several updates to Photoshop were available but could never download them or install them. Following your March 17th instructions did not do the trick. However after some trials and errors, I managed to get the updates to cs5 installed (unfortunately, I don't know how I managed!). I still cannot get cs5.5 but it's OK.
Someone from Adobe called me and suggested that I upgrade to cs6 at a special price but I declined the offer, thinking that at some point in the future, I may move to CC.
