Cannot install OS X 10.6.2 Update or Hewlett-Packard Printer Drivers

Error message #1: "Mac OS X Update can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Error message #2 (regarding Printer Drivers): This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
Disk in question is the startup volume. It has 164.35 GB free. OS X 10.6 was just installed about two hours ago, and the two updates were downloaded right after 10.6 was installed.

Is the drive partitioned using GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled? Have you done this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Are you installing the 10.6.2 Combo Updater (not the incremental one?) The latter is slightly larger and has the word "Combo" in the title.
Did you update to Snow or did you install it on a freshly erased hard drive?

I've had no trouble with iTunes for years, but cannot install iTunes10.7
Last iTunes running was 10.6.3.25
I'm running Win Vista 64 bit, with all windows updates current.

Reboot computer (administrative access)
Downloaded iTunes 10.7 exe file
Closed all programs, including my firewall and anti-virus.
Uninstalled iTunes.
Removed appdata\Local\Temp folder
Installed iTunes 10.7 file

on boot-up, most device drivers are now messed up, including DVD devices=not seen
The only way for me to recover is to do a system restore to before the iTunes installation.
This has been going on for a few days - any ideas??

That's suggesting a device filter conflict in the registry.
I'd try the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters
(Although the document doesn't mention USB devices, they can also be taken out by a filter conflict.)

Windows update requirements for Xerox print drivers on Windows 2003 server

Hello, We are currently deploying a fleet of Xerox MFD's across ~100 locations, and we are running into an issue installing the print drivers on some Windows Server 2003 (32bit) boxes. (both the machine specific driver, as well as the Xerox Global print driver) The print driver installs fine, but no jobs will actually print, and if you try and print a test page, an error "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?" comes up instantly. We have seem to have narrowed the problem down to a missing Windows update, as if we do all available High Priority and Optional updates, it starts to work fine. Does anybody know specifically which Windows updates are a requirement for the driver? Our 2003 servers were last fully updated about a year ago, and due to time constraints, if we could just install the Windows updates that are needed it would be a big help. Thank you in advance

When Xerox dropped support for XP, they stopped adding particular files from the driver packs (probably for size reduction) because they were all included by default in every newer OS. If you install this here on any XP/2003 base machines it will work as normal. It is best to install that before the driver install, but I have been mostly lucky to have it work fine days later. YMMV

When I click on the link it says it "is not a valid WIN32 application". Does anyone know what this means, or how to fix it?

I am having the very same issue as well.
You call Australian number and get someone from overseas.
You call the techical number and either the call doesn't transfer to on hold music for anything up to 20 minutes with no feedback your in a cue.
All I ever seem to get from Adobe these days is a massive runaround.
They sell products to you from the Australian website at massive price differentuals to other adobe sites in different territories. Then they make offers to LWS customers to upgrade to Team Creative Cloud USD $39.99 as a fixed upgrade price for two years, after which USD $69.99
To even find out a price on upgrading the LWS license for Production Premium to Master Collection, you have to go through a reseller. I contacted three different suppliers from the list given to me from Adobe, and guess what.
None of them said I was able to upgrade a full purchase of cs6 production premium to master collection because its no longer for sale.
So the revolving door of Adobe continues as I get more frustrated and ripped off in the process.

Cannot Install Logic Express 9.0.1 Update

I tried to install the 9.0.1 update but I keep getting a message "An eligible Logic Express Version was not found in the Applications Folder. This Update requires Logic Express version 9.0." when I try to install it.
I have a copy of Logic 9 Express that I bought from the Apple Store & there is a copy in the Applications folder that I installed as a default location.
This was an upgrade from Logic 7. I may have shortened the name to "Logic Express" & I also have the copy of Logic 7 still in my Application Folder.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is your version 9.0 registered and functioning properly? If so, I see no reason why the update installer does not recognize it . . . as long as you installed the original application to the default Applications folder and did not move it later, and did not rename the file. Also, be sure you have not moved or renamed any support files (Library/Application Support/Logic, etc.).
Having both LE7 and LE9 in your Applications folder should be okay. I have "Logic Express 8" and "Logic Express" in mine ("Logic Express" being version 9) and I was able to update to 9.0.1.
Unless somebody else has a solution, you might try reinstalling LE9 and then the 9.0.1 update again.

Cannot install OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

After downloading OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 attempted to install and got a message that an error occurred and to contact Apple.
So what is the problem?

The app store on my server won't launch and was trying to run the update hoping it will fix the situation. When I run the 10.6.8 combo v1.1 I get this error.
Any ideas?

Cannot install CR 2011 upgrade - Failed to update cache for execution

We just purchased an upgrade to Crystal Reports 2011. Whenh I try to install, I get through all of the setup prep steps, etc...but close to the end the install freezes and then pops this error message: "Failed to update cache for execution. Program will exit." And then it does just like it says...it exits. I have uninstalled my old XI version but still it fails to install.
I am running this on an HP laptop running Win 7 64-bit. This machine has run XI just fine for some time.

Cannot install patches via Connection Manager or Update Manager

I tried installing 137 outstanding updates via Update Manager, but they all failed complaining about digital signatures not being verified.
Then i tried using the online "Connection Manager". I managed to queue the 137 jobs no problem, but then they have been stuck in a pending state all day. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?
Is there any way I can just download a patch cluster like I used on all the previous versions of Solaris... it would be so much simpler. :-)

Cannot install Fireworks CS3

Each time I try to install Fireworks I get the message,
"Cannot install... please close Adobe Updater application."
However, this application is in fact not running. Should I

Satellite L655-145 cannot install bluetooth stack

Cannot install bluetooth stack. Setup programm just freeze. All other drivers installed successfuly. Device manager show only Bluetooth ACPI device. This problem appeared after updating BIOS from original version 1.80 to older (1.80->1.90->2.10->2.20). Downgrade to 1.80 take no effect.

As far as I know the notebook is equipped with an WIFI and Bluetooth combo card!
This means that Wlan and BT functionality is controlled by one card.
If you downgraded the BIOS (dont know why) please set this to default firstly.
Save the changes and reboot the notebook.
Then download the BT stack from Toshiba BT portal.
Enable the BT (FN+F8) and then start the BT stack installation once again.

Cannot install cs6 pb!!!!

this is turning into a nightmare. cannot install cs6.
sys: i7 / 920 / 12gb ram / gtx 550ti (always current drivers) / bm intensity pro - win7 / sp1 / 64bit
ran setup
all seemed ok till asked to insert 2nd disk. at which point error message said to restart and try again.
on second try there was no longer any cs6 folder on the first disk just the following folders:
cs6 speech anal models
encore cs6 functional content
premiere cs6 functional content.
tried installing direct from the premiere folder set up and received the following error message:

Cannot Install Printer

Hello, my HP Photosmart 7760 printer has to be reinstalled on my computer as I had to have my 2.5 year old computer repaired (new hard drive ).   When I insert printer's CD software everything checks out except one. This is the error message I get each time I try:
'This software cannot be installed using the "Run as........" command.   The installation cannot continue until this is resolved. Log off then log on as a user with administrator priveleges (Contact system administratro for more information). If there is no system administrator, have the primary user of this computer install the software.   Restart install by removing and reinstallingthis installation CD.'
I am the only person that uses this home computer and I am logged in as the administrator so I am no sure why I cannot install the software.   Preveiously to having to disconnect the printer so that the computer could be serviced, the printer ran well and is in excellent condition.
I would appreciate it if anyone can help me as I have tried many times and still cannot solve this on my own. Thank you.

Hewlett-Packard 786D7 v01.02 BIOS Update

I've installed an nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti graphics card into my son's HP xw4400 Workstation as a Xmas present and I get the following error message:
"Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this"
My understanding is that I need to update the BIOS but I can't find an update for Hewlett-Packard 786D7 v01.02 on this site. I've attached a screenshot of the system info.

Updated to mountain lion and lost printer drivers

I updated my iMac software to Mountain Lion and lost all my printer drivers. I thought that it was going to update those also.

"Printer drivers" implies more than one? Which ones?
ML has built in support for many printers. If yours are (is) on the list, you merely have to reinstall the printer. Go to Apple Menu / System Preferences / Print & Scan - then click on the + sign to add a printer.

If your printers are not on the list, the drivers will have to be found on the manufacturers' web sites.
