Cannot Install Pixel Bender on my Master suite 5.5 Student Edition

Does any one know if there is any limitation on the student edition for add-ons? When I try to download the Plug-in (Pixel Bender from Adobe Labs) file all gibberish comes up on the screen. I spent several hours with Adobe support, who bounced me around to 4 different people. None could help. I was able to download the file on a different (PC) computer & save on a flash drive,. When I try ti install it on this Apple iMac using Extension Manager it says that it can't find the installer file. Has any one faced this problem?

After spending several hours yesterday with different Adobe Help Lines to solve this problem and still being unable to install on this Apple iMac, I posted this question on the forum. Today I decided to try again, lo and behold it worked the first time! I still had to use the installation file that was downloaded on another PC and saved on a flash drive. I just can't believe. It now works, that's all what matters to me.

Yes has anybody had any trouble downloading Pixel bender using CS5 extension manager? I keep geting the message I do not have administrative permissions. Even though I have all administrative permissions on my ImacG5 10.6.7. Is there a way around this or has anybody have the anaswer.

yes I had no trouble downloading pixel bender from the web. As administrator of my computer I should have no problem installing, but no matter what I do keeps telling me I do not have administrative permissions.

No, pixel bender only works in photoshop cs4 and photoshop cs5.

Getting error- Cannot open as archive for CS6 Master suite collection. How to d/l & install?

I have an account and a license key code. I purchased a new laptop that doesn't have a dvd drive. I want to download CS6 Master Suite Collection but I keep getting error "cannot open as archive"!!! I have already located the d/l files, but they will NOT install. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

if you downloaded an exe and 7z, they should both be in the same folder and click (or double click) the exe.
do NOT manually try to extract the 7z file.
if that doesn't solve your problem, what file names and extensions did you download and what are their file sizes?

Installed pixel bender but it doesn't show up under filter

I am running CS5 Standard 64 bit Windows 7 Professional and downloaded and ran "pixelbenderplugin_p2_64bit_090910.mxp" that appeared to end successfully however; pixel bender doesn't show in the filters drop down list. I could not see how I directed the plugin in CS5 edit preferences. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Duuuh. I finally figured it out. I had to right click on the Cs5 Extension Manager and not the executable file which was what I was doing. Right clicked the Extension Manager and selected run in administrator mode and it ran successfully. Started CS5 and the pixel bender filter was there.

Uninstall and then re-install Acrobat Pro with CS6 Master Suite

Hello,
I'm using Windows 8.1 and could not open pdfs (or indeed open Acrobat XI Pro at all). I have CS6 Master Suite, and I seem to recall Acrobat coming with that purchase, whether it's officially part of CS6 or not.
Forums suggested uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat. I've uninstalled but am now struggling to find where/how to re-install Acrobat from my account on Adobe.com.
Any pointers please?

I only have one serial number, and that's the one I got when I purchased CS6 Master Suite. Acrobat XI seemed to come as part of this.
But when I use my CS6 serial number, the Acrobat installer doesn't like it.
To my knowledge, I don't have any other serial numbers at my disposal.
Any ideas?

Can't install pixel bender for CS4

When I click on the download for pixel bender for CS4, it downloads the one for CS5. Can someone give me the correct file to download? I need one for both 32 bit and 64 bit (two different computers). Thanks!

Thanks for the summary--it definitely helped. The problem you are describing is well known and has been discussed, documented, and resolved many times and in many places. You need to run Adobe Extension Manager CS4 as administrator (right-click the Adobe Extension Manager executable and select "Run as administrator" from the contextual menu) in order to install the Extension. This is necessary because of the elevated privileges required to access the Program Files directory and sub-directories. I can't install Pixel Bender because the Extensions Manager won't open.

HI1 I can't install Pixel vender because the Extensions manger won't open. I get the message that it has "unexpectedly quit" and then I'm supposed to send a report to Apple. Of course, nothing comes of that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Please back up all files in the folder /Library/InputManagers and remove those files, and then try to launch Extension Manager. It may solve the issue.
You can also to try the following method:
Remove all old Extension Manager preference and application support files.
To delete the application support files for Extension Manager CS5, please navigate to folder '/Users/<current user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS5', then back up all files in the folder, and then delete all files and sub directories in the folder.
To delete the preference file for Extension Manager CS5, please navigate to folder '/Users/<current user>/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Extension Manager CS5', then back up all files in the folder, and then delete all files and sub directories in the folder.
If neither above way works, please use the below method to gather crash log and I will check those crash log. Thanks.
As you mentioned, when Extension Manager crashes, there would be a dialog to ask for sending report to Apple. In that dialog, you can view the crash log by clicking report button. Then you can copy the crash log and paste it into the forum.

Will Creative Suite 5 teacher student edition work with Mavericks on a Mac

I have Creative Suite 5 on a desktop and Mac Book Pro running on Snow Leopard I would like to update operating system to Mavericks but need to know whether this will affect the running of CS5 the teacher student edition that I have installed on both machines?

Trouble installing Pixel Bender in Photoshop CS4

I have ran what I think are the installers for them. They go through the motions of installation but so far I have no indication that they have installed in Photoshop. I have looked under the filters but do not see them. Where should I look or what could I have done wrong?
I am running PS CS4, on an iMac, running 10.6 on and intel duocore 2 with 4 gigs of ram.

New CS4 Master Suite Installation fro Students

I am a student in San Diego, and am taking an online class. I purchased the student version of CS4 Master Collection and did (what I thought was) a complete installation. However, after the install I noticed it did not install all the software that was listed in the description on the back of the box. The programs that were not installed are: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Sound Booth, On-Location, and Encore. I've included a screen capture of the programs that were installed. Am I missing a disc or ?

Student package cs 5.5 master suite - no longer student

Not long after installing on my old computer the screen was smashed and could no longer use. deactivated that computer and haven't had a windows computer to use for last year or two and no longer a student, can i still install and activate on a new computer if i was a student when i purchased? i still have a valid student ID

Yes, of course you can still use it. The qualifying criteria only matter at the time of purchase, otehrwise the license is persistent.

Pixel Bender install issue

I have been trying to install Pixel Bender on a Window7 64-bit pc in Photoshop CS5 Extended. I am using the 64-bit Pixel Bender Plug-in. On my first attempt I did not run the Adobe Extension Manager CS5 as administrator. I removed the files and ran the install again. The files are in the plug-in/filter directory but do not appear under filters when Photoshop is opened. Is there a permission set wrong or a missing shortcut that needs to be established? CS4 was on the PC but has been removed before the last install. The pc has been rebooted.

The pixel bender files are in
adobe/adobe photoshop cs5 (64bit)/
which is at the same level as plug-ins
within plug-ins I have the filters folder which has pixel benders, average, vanishing point, etc.
I do not see the oilpaint filter anywhere.
When I open the keyboard shortcuts & menus, the filter options do not include pixle bender in the list

Pixel bender wont open on win 7

i have been tryign to install pixel bender toolkit 2.5 so i can pplay with the droste filter that was not added to creative cloud a bit disapointed its nto in the new creative suite thta i pay for but that sneither here nor there the pixelbender program shoudl run as a standalone program from what i have found. now problem i have is that when i open pixel bender it closes right away nothng happens liek error messages it is liek soemone clicked close as soona s it opened. please help me as i havebeen pulling out my hair tryign to fix i even reintalled windows and problem is still here. the program will work if i downlaod the old 1.5 version but i dodnt see why the new version wotn open. pleas ehelp

I've got the exact same problem:
Trying to open the Pixel Bender Toolkit, it immediately closes after initiation. No message whatsoever.
I hadn't used the plug-in for a while, I have changed my graphic card to an unsupported NVidia card. But the Pixel Bender filters do open in Photoshop CS5(12.0 64-bit), although new filter don't seem to show up (but that might be a different issue)
