I cannot install the latest reader the installer quits after the installer reaches full bar. And comes up with error 1500 application cannot load two apps at once however there is nothing else executed in either in the fore or background for this to be occuring i suggest there might be an issue with the installer might someone plse look into it for me and respond giving me  likely reason. I have been forced to use older version of reader due tot his issue.

Download the offline installer from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195540 and save it to disk.
In order to make sure that no previous installer is running, restart your computer, then run the downloaded installer.

  • Cannot install Reader in Windows 7

I have a Windows 7 ultimate OS. I cannot install Reader on it. I have Flash player on it. but some how the reader isn't getting installed.
When i run the setup file of Reader, it starts its processing phase, as it should. But after the completion of it, it quits. Its like the actual installation doesn't get evoke the main setup file. The surprising factor here is that there is no notification about it. No error messages and no warnings. Its just stops its self after the processing phase gets over.
Another surprising factor is that when i try to install the reader through the download manager of adobe, it downloads the application taking the correct time, and when the time comes for installation it completes it fast and shows me that it was successful with a green tick.
    please help me guys....

Try to download this installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi, then run it as an Administrator user.

  • Cannot install Adobe CS3, Installer fails

    Hi, everybody,
I hope somebody can help me here, as for almost 3 weeks now I am trying to install Adobe's CS3 Design Premium and I can't get it to work. Adobe's tech support is very friendly and comes with solutions and things to try now and then but first response time is really slow (48h) and secondly they haven't found a solution yet, though being escalated up in Tech Support levels already.
    Problem:
Can't install CS3 (English version), Design Premium
    Platform:
WinXP Professional SP2 2002 (all patches) US
    Intel Pentium M 1.7 GHz
    1.5 GB RAM
    C:, D: Partition
On C: still 25 GB available
    Computer is in domain.
Have tried to install it as local Admin and Domain-User (who is also in local Admin group with all rights).
Furthermore CS2 is installed, Macromedia, Office products etc.
    Details:
    1. Can start installer, all screens are accessible, can make entries everywhere.
    2. Installation starts and progress bar appears.
    3. Installers runs to the end (without any problem), summary screen comes.
    4. Summary says that some products could not be installed.
    5. Installer installed the "smaller" apps, like Acrobat, Device Central, Bridge etc. BUT NOT Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
Side effect is that, as Acrobat and Distiller cannot be activated by itself, I cannot use them anymore and the CS3 installer does remove these two CS2 products. Well, working with Reader currently :-(
Also, the numerous uninstallations (45 min!) remove also PDF plug-ins and Flash plug-ins, so a terrible situation to be in.
What I have tried so far (and which hasn't worked):
    1. Ran CHKDSK over the hard disks, no issues.
    2. Installed from hard disk (instead DVD).
    3. Disabled all services and startups, as well as firewalls, virus scanners etc.
    4. Let the cs3clean script run (provided by Adobe, which resolves problems if you had CS3 beta installed, which I didn't), with level 1 and 2.
    5. Tried to install only specific applications (not all).
    6. Ran MSCLeanup app.
    7. Analyzed CS3 Install log for FAILED, Error Code 3 etc., no dramatic entries. Only thing that sometimes appears:
    - Error 1303, not enough privileges for CONFIG.MSI, which seems to be a known MS issue when the hard disk responds too late. Of course privileges for CONFIG.MSI are there, also tried reapplying them, deleting folder etc.
    8. Applied privileges new to all folders.
    9. Ran a registry cleaner
    10. Deinstalled Bridge 1.0
    11. Tried it in Safe Mode, not possible (Installer says cannot be run in sfae mode).
    More:
Adobe tech support also suggested to uninstall Bonjour, but I cannot find any entry and therefore have no idea how to uninstall. Add/Remove programs doesn't list it.
As the Installer runs about one hour, it is not only time-consuming, it also kills my productivity, as no Browser, Adobe or MS product can run when the installer is running.
Googled for error 1303 and CONFIG.MSI similar problems. Found numerous entries with CS3 installation issues, with some the CS3 Beta clean script helped, others had success with copying installation folder to hard disk, everybody something else (or no solution). And nothing that helped me.
As I know haven't heard from Adobe Tech Support for four working days, does anybody have any idea what else I could try?
    Thanks
    Matthias

There are log files that record the process of installation. If errors occur, they will be recorded in those log-files.
You should open up the log file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers. The file is called something like Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium 1.0.log.gz (depending on your install type).
Pay attention to the file extension: it should be .log.gz and not just .log
To open it you should have a program like Winzip or Winrar, because it's an archive file containing a text file.
Search in the text file for the error message. Search for "Error ".
In my case it was "Error 1401.Could not create key \Software\Classes\.svg\OpenWithList\Illustrator.exe. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
    Now follow these steps:
    1. Make sure you are logged in as an Administrator in Windows XP.
    2. On the Windows TaskBar, choose Start, Run, type "regedit" (without quotes), and click OK.
    3. Navigate to the following key that was of your error message (in my case it is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.svg\OpenWithList)
    4. Right-click "OpenWithList" and choose Permissions.
    5. Make sure your user name displays under "Group or user names."
NOTE: In the Windows XP Pro edition, the user name displays next to the word, Administrators.
In the Windows XP Home edition. the user name may display without the word, Administrator.
If you are not sure whether or not you are logged in as an Administrator, you can verify user rights in the Control Panel, User Accounts.
    6. Verify that "System" also displays under "Group and User Names."
If the System name is not there, add it as follows:
    7. In the Permissions for OpenWithList dialog box, click Add.
    8. Type "System" (without quotes) in "Enter the object names to select" and click OK.
    9. In "Permissions for System," make sure "Full control" and "Read" are set to "Allow."
    10. Click OK, exit the Registry, and proceed with the install.
Read the tech note as well: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402035&sliceId=1
My problem was solved this way. Good luck!

AskAndrew23 are you utilizing any applications which might be preventing the Myriad font from being updated?  Do you use any font management software for example?
Please try rebooting your computer and installing again.  If you do utilize font management software then I would recommend temporarily disabling the software.  If you continue to face difficulties then you may want to move the referenced fonts to your desktop so a new copy can be installed.

  • Trying to install Reader 9.1 - error 1402

So I'm trying to install Reader 9.1. I'm using Windows XP, Firefox 3.0.11. The installation gets to about 98%, and then I get an error message that says:
Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY\LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\MSFS. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
Um, what? Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Thank you for the response, and sorry it took so long to respond in my own thread.
I tried using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, but it still doesn't work. I opened up Registry Editor, and browsed to the key it said was missing. It doesn't look like I have that key - the only thing in there is something that says (default) in the name column, type is REG_SZ, and under data it says (value not set). I have no idea what any of this means, and I'm also not sure how to see what permissions I have. Can you make any sense of this?

  • Cannot install iTunes, Windows 7; error 7

I downloaded the last iTunes update and since then, have not been able to open iTunes.  I have followed the instructions from the community posts about uninstalling iTunes and all the ancillary programs several times and still cannot open iTunes.  Each time I reinstall, I get an error message about the Apple Mobile Device Support and the install stalls.  I cannot get past it.  If I hit ignore and let the install finish, I end up with error message iTunes not installed correctly, please reinstall Error 7.
I run Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.  All of my Windows updates are current.
Please help.  I can't back up my iPhone b/c my settings are for backup on computer.  I cannot backup on cloud b/c of this.  Because I cannot backup, I have updated my software on the phone yet.
    In backup/upgrade limbo.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Adobe Reader 9, Installer error 1635

Hi, I have a problem updating Adobe Reader 9.4.2. to version 9.4.3
Direct after starting the update I receive the installer error:
"1635 This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
I have tried this MS fix (MicrosoftFixit50123.msi) but it did not help.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971187/en
I must say that a few days ago I also had an issue updating Adobe FlashPlayer. It would tell me at boot there was an update available, and after giving it the OK it started downloading, and installing, but although the installing gave no errors at all, both the FlashPlayers for Internet Explorer and Firefox were NOT updated, and only after a lot of these 'fake' updates I noticed it because a following update for Firefox told me my FlashPlayer was out of date while I saw FlashPlayer update that same morning.
Downloading and un-installing/re-installing both FlashPlayers did the trick...  But now, a few days later another Adobe product has a problem updating.
I have not yet re-installed the reader, but since I have seen it work for 4 years, and since it MAY be related to Adobe Flash, I would like to see if someone can shine some light on this issue first.
I work with Windows XP Prof completely updated ( except... Adobe Reader).
    Thanks.
    Edit:
Meanwhile i have tried to uninstall Adobe Reader, but the same error persist.

As far as I can see the problem is solved.
You gave me the tip for the Windows Cleanup Utility, but the support for the program has stopped because some removals did damage to other installs. So I had some second thoughts about it.
But your idea brought me another, to use the Revo Uninstaller.
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/
    * Made a system restore point
    * Downloaded Revo uninstaller Pro 30 day trial, but full version.
    * Run Revo ( ! Adobe Reader 9 had 664 registry keys with 902 values...)
    * Needed a reboot to remove last files from the Adobe reader 9.
    * Roughly checked if other Adobe products still run...
    * Downloaded and installed Adobe Reader X  ( ? X ? It is version 10.0.1 after updating)
    * Did an update of Reader X
    * Needed reboot after update.
Ankit_Jain, the link you gave for the Reader 9 download is an US version, but I needed a Dutch (NL) version. That's why I searched for the Reader on the Adobe site, but came on the Reader X page. I thought the X stands for 'the latest version'. But it is not.
So I have a functioning reader back, with one difference:  it is not Reader 9, but Reader X . I really don't know what the difference is, but what I do know is that the install takes quite a long time, and, if you don't uncheck the box on the site for the (free) McAfee scanner, it will also install that.
I will try what I have for now, and if I may find other problems around it I will surely report back.
    Thanks all for your reactions

  • Cannot install apps directly; no error msgs; AppleID okay

Yesterday, in the middle of upgrading an app on my iOS 7.1.1, I tried to install another app and it prompted me to enter my AppleID password. From that time selecting any app from the App Store on my device would SILENTLY not do anything, ie. Click on FREE --> Click on INSTALL --> after a few moment the icon would revert to FREE, ie. No error messages, nothing, ziltch, nada !!
I then spent hours not finding any exact same problem on numerous forums, but found a similar problem, albeit with Apple actually bothering to give an error message, on this blog:
    [LINK#1]
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/102935/cant-install-apps-from-app-store -on-iphone-with-ios-7
What disgusted me all the way through my search was the IDIOTIC advice that Apple was consistently giving users with similar problems – they had them upgrading to the latest iOS (what a waste of time, as when you happily have a stable platform, you have to deal with a whole new set of things not working – theoretically could be okay, but Apple have consistently proven they ****-up every iOS release), and then fully resetting their device and wiping out all their settings (doesn’t seem to bother Apple to waste their customers time).
After successfully fixing the problem, you realise when reading the other blogs that Apple knows what the problem is, but due to their obsession with a sealed user-de-enabled environment, they don’t want to provide access to the tools (why not? You’d think by iOS 7 they could have by now integrated soft recovery tools safely in the OS), but would rather make users corrupt their devices by dancing them in circles rather than admit what the problem is, and that 3rd party tools can fix.
The solution? This linked blog indicates Apple get a corruption in their SQLite database that manages downloads. I installed macroplant.com’s iExplorer (I have no affiliation) and voila! renamed the offending file, and after a sluggish 30 minutes (where is was likely rebuilding the file), I could then install apps  again on my device. NOTE: no upgrading to later buggy iOS version, and no resetting my device and wiping out all my good work.

    SYMPTON:
Cannot install apps directly on Apple iPhone / iPad / iPod with no error messages.  User AppleID and other settings are correct and confirmed.
    RESOLUTION:
Used 3rd party tool (get it and install it now before they remove the free DEMO mode) – macroplant.com – “iExplorer”
    QUESTION:
If Apple insist on having a closed / sealed user environment, why (given how many iOS iterations they have gone through) haven’t they included the tools in the iOS to fix database corruptions without dancing users through timewasting upgrades and wiping out their settings, when this won’t fix the problem?

By god, it works!!!!!!!       Thanks Tim
Now this would not be a permanent solution - disabling zonealarm everytime I want to sync. What is the perrmanent solution?

    David,
I can’t say for certain what’s going on here but I do have a few suggestions before you “recreate the installer for legacy code reasons.” First, I would delete everything from the Build Directory. This may be where the recursive issues are coming from. Lastly, in the My Installer Properties window, I would look at the Source Files and make sure everything is there and check for any broke links.
