Cannot Install SCVMM 2012 - Hardware Management Error (WinRM)
Hello All,
I am trying to install SCVMM 2012 on Server 2008 R2, However, when installing, I met the following error:
I tried using the command "winrm qc" but "Access is Denied" error is shown.
My account is a domain user which has been given local administrator privilege.
Any help is appreciated

To start the Virtual Machine Manager Setup Wizard, on your installation media, right-click
setup.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
For the WinRM errors , isn't this something to do with UAC , Can you use an elevated command prompt and run "winrm qc" if you still get the access denied error , please check that administrator account has a non blank password
WinRM needs to be fixed prior to go for VMM installation

I have just experienced this error of ( CLR20r3) when trying to add or remove server roles.

Lots of research, and didn't find any resolution.
Apparently this is not strictly tied to Windows Server 2012, as I see that Windows Server 2008 R2 , and even Windows desktop users have experienced this issue. With no direct resolution.

If anyone should obtain the MS Fix or hear of it, please post so that others who are experiencing this issue can find peace in their day.
I have given up, ended up performing a reinstall. ( sadly)

Based on your description, would you please refer to following operations and troubleshoot this issue?
Please use
Sytem File Checker tool to scan all protected system files.
Please
perform a clean boot to check if some third-party services affected.
Please backup the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole. Then delete following two registry key (if exist): LeagcyImepersonationLevel and LegacyauthenticationLevel
Then log off and logon and monitor the result.
In addition, please navigate to %windir%\logs and check ServerManager and CBS log file if you can find some
relevant errors.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.

Safari cannot install profile due to unknown error

I was browsing a couple of sites today, and during browsing, i received a message saying "safari cannot install profile due to unknown error" , i am not to sure which of the sites gave this message, and browsing over them again does not give this message. I am using an iPad 2 16gb wifi. when going to General -> Settings , i dont have a profiles tab, so am not sure what profile it was trying to load. i also have nothing changed in my settings that i can see, should i be worried, that there is some spyware or malware loaded?. can an ipad get any kind of bad things through a profile install?. i have looked online but cannot see an answer.You can not download items from the internet with an ipad, you can download from the app store or from itunes or some cloud services (dropbox) but not from browsers, there is an Iphone app for we transfer in the app store that appears that it can be used on an ipad as well.

Unable to install SCVMM 2012 - MSI error 1638
Hi Folks,
I am getting an installation error whilst trying to install the new version of SCVMM 2012. I had an earlier version (2010 I think) install which I removed via Programs and Features (also removed database, share and program directories).
When I try and install the new version the log file shows

Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft Web Deploy 3.5. Product Version: 3.1237.1762. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1638.
I assume that there are probably some left over registry settings or something, does anyone know how I can clean out the old system properly or fix the issue?

Like most of the time, there is a lot of possible topology to achieve your design.
Installing VMM and the database in a virtual machine on the same cluster that it manage is a supported scenario.
The first question you have to ask is : What is the availability level i need for my VMM infrastructure ?If
you shutdown the SCVMM instance for patching, you are not able to deploy new VM from template, and not able to create and manage Virtual Networks. It don't affect existing VM or Virtual Networks. Does this break your SLA ?
Most of the time, VMM don't need a guest cluster (unless you are a hosting provider with provisionning portal
available 24/24 7/7).
The main advice i will give you is :
Keep it simple as possible !
Don't build complex infrastructure if you don't need to achieve a very hight level of availability.
Availability, complexity and management cost have a exponential relation.
For large deployment, you can use a dedicated Hyper-V cluster to deploy System Center and infrastructures services (SCVMM, SCOM etc...) But there is nothing wrong in deploying VMM in the same cluster as the VM it manage. The design you have to achieve should
be thinking in terms of availability and serviceability.
I don't think that 30 Hyper-V hosts need a dedicated SQL Guest Cluster.
If you install VMM on one VM and SQL on another, you will not achieve more performances, but your VMM instance
will be less "portable".

Previously blocked client computers - now cannot install SCCM 2012 R2 client

I have a Primary Site on SCCM 2012 R2. New installation of 2012 R2, not upgrade from SCCM 2007. My environment is pretty small for now, having added just few dept computers in the company.
We are using SCCM for Endpoint Security antivirus deployment. Some time ago I had not configured the Discovery methods correctly and the scep client started to install on few machines on which it was not supposed to be installed. I removed the clients then
(both remote and local uninstallation) but since the sccm client was getinng installed again - I had to Block these few machines. Now the problem is that I cannot install the scep client on these computers that have previously been blocked. I am sure the previous
block is the reason because these are about 6-7 machines and only they do not install. All others do install scep client. The installation process goes smooth on these problematic machines, ccmsetup folder gets created in C:\Windows, I follow the ccmsetup.log
and it says " <![LOG[CcmSetup is exiting with return code 0]LOG]!><time="12:33:56.415-180" date="10-08-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="3992"
file="ccmsetup.cpp:10875"> " at the end of the log which is what it is supposed to show when installation goes ok, then Ccmexec.exe process continues running but folder Microsoft Security Client in C:\Program Files never gets
created and no scep client gets installed.
I tried deleting the computers from the sccm console and discovering them anew - did not help. Tried even renaming the comp locally, after having it deleted from sccm console, then adding it anew hoping sccm will regard it as a new resource-again no good.
All these computers have the Approve, Block and Unblock buttons greyed out/inactive in console.
Has anyone had this same problem? Any ideas what can be done. Thank you.

I'm running in a similar issue here.
One single client was blocked, then deleted, lateron recreated (imported manually name and MAC address).
Now the client is unable to register itself in SCCM 2012 R2 (no CU yet).
Tried the usual stuff: uninstalled SCCM client, remove the entries of CCMsetup and SMS from registry, deleted the SMS certs from the computer personal
store and deleted the smscfg.ini from C:\Windows. Then re-installed the SCCM client
Client logs look fine, except ClientIDManagerStartup.log:

Cannot install SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4
Hi,
I just tried to apply CU4 over one of my SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 deployments and I receive the following message during the initial verification phase:
Server update status: This update applies to product version 5.0.7804. The installed version on this computer is 5.0.7958.1000. This update is not applicable to this computer.
Console update status: No serviceable configuration manager role was found on the local system.
If I engage the verification phase on this installation for CU2 and CU3 there is no problem at all, so this must be a CU4 package specific error.
Anybody experiencing the same behavior ?The latest CU that I see for SCCM 2012 SP1 is SP1 Cumulative Update 3, are you sure you are working with the proper file? .

Cannot install Server 2012 using USB bootable flash.

We plan to upgrade Server 2003 to Server 2012. I downloaded Windows Server 2012 R2 ISO file from the below link.

Then make this ISO file on bootable USB flash and boot it on computer.
During Windows Setup installation after select partition,
Getting files ready on installation (xx%)
It displayed message that The installation was canceled.
"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"
I have tried the following ways.
- re-downloaded the ISO file again
- Installed on VHD
- Installed on different computer
- Tried choosing Server Core Installation or Server with a GUI
Still got the same error. Plese help me how to solve?I'm not clear about your problem statement. Are you saying that after downloading re-downloading the ISO, the installation failed in all three different installations?
If so, it really does sound like bad media. There have been other instances in this forum where the person downloading was apparently hitting a server on the internet that had a bad copy of the media. They got around the problem by downloading
from a different location, for example, a different part of town that gets routed to a different download server.

Cannot install Server 2012 Evaluation
Hi folks,
I have an HP Proliant microserver on which I am attempting to install Windows Server 2012 180-day Evaluation in order to start learning.
Have downloaded ISO and burnt to DVD but when I start the install an choose the Windows Server 2012 Standard install option I get a message:
'Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software Licence Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation.'
Cannot get past this message so cannot install - I have downloaded the ISO multiple times and still get the same message.
HP Microserver has 12GB RAM and 750GB HDD.
Any help for a noob please folks?

Cannot Install Dreamweaver. Adobe Installer Error Code: 87
I just purchased my Creative Cloud membership. When I go to install Dreamweaver, an Adobe Installer error box pops up saying,
"We've encountered the following issues: Another installer is currently running, which must be closed before installing this product. Please close other installers. (Error code: 87)."
However, I don't have any other installations running. Please let me know if anyone knows something that may resolve the issue.

I just installed SQL Server 2012 Evaluation on my machine but I am having difficulty installing Adventureworks Samples.
Here are a couple of things I have done:
1. I ran this query (the path is mapped correctly), "

if you just are going to create a clean database you can create it with the wizard. As Marke is saying, don't put a database on the root of the disk.
Create a folder called temp and put the database there. Even though you are local administrator you will have problems creating a file directly on the root partition.
Back to your query creating the database, you have just specified the database path location but not the log file. If you do not specify where you want your log file to be located it will look into your default location(set under installation, and printed into
registry(this can be changed after the installation)).
If you are going to store the files in c:\temp the query should be:
CREATE DATABASE [AdventureWorks2012] ON PRIMARY
( NAME = N'AdventureWorks2012', FILENAME = N'C:\Temp\AdventureWorks2012.mdf' , SIZE = 3072KB , FILEGROWTH = 1024KB )

Here higher means Visual Studio 2012 higher version, for example, Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate.
