Cannot install Vista on my Toshiba NB250-10G

Hello. Toshiba NB250-G, part no. PLL2XE-001001EN originally with win 7 32 bit.
I'm trying to install Vista for reason of compatibility with family machines. The installation proceeds to collecting files and then stops with the following message:- Error code 0x80070070 Windows cannot copy files required for installation etc etc. I suspect the need for a driver to precede the windows files.
Can anyone help me, please?
T I A, J

Hi
I have checked Toshiba download page and, as I can see your machine is not supported for Vista. It is supported for Win7 32bit only so, in my opinion it would be better to stay with Win7.
I don't know what kind of compatibility is important for you but there is no big difference between Vista and Win7.
I presume you have created bootable USB stick with Vista. When Vista setup wizard starts is HDD recognized properly? Can you create or choose partition where OS should be installed?

  • Cannot install Vista Ultimate 64bits on Mac Pro 2008

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Vista Ultimate 64bits on my new Mac Pro (2008, 2x Quad Core, 3x 500GBHDD, 16 GB Ram), but Vista is unable to find a correct partition type.
The first thing I did was to install a 4th HD, and I constantly received an error 0x80004005 which seems to be too generic.
Then I tried to install it on the 3rd HD (Bay 2 is where my OS X startup disk is located btw) but here no way neither....Windows cannot find a valid partition.....
I tried to partition it manually in MBR...same problem....
    Then with BootCamp assistant...same problem...
I also tried to use Vista Business 64 SP1, same problem...
Do you have any idea ?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hello,
Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I'm still stuck...
    To resume the situation :
I put a brand new 250GB SATA in the bay 4.
I start Bootcamp Assistant and tell him that I want to use this new disk for Windows and then start Vista x64 install.
Vista sees 2 partitions on this new disk :
    Disk 3 Partition 1 : 200 MB (Primary)
    Disk 3 Partition 2 : 230 GB (Primary)
If I try to use the P2 for the install, I have to format it first. Once formatted, Vista says : This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.
If I try to use the 200 MB (just for fun..), then I also have to format it, but here I receive the error message 0x8000xxxx
    So clearly I'm lost...
Could it be related to the 16 GB RAM ? Too much for Vista ?? I don't believe as this is Vista x64...
    Thanks for your help, ideas..

  • Cannot Install Vista Version of Power Manager - T60

I recently changed my Windows to Vista from XP and have gotten into a situation where I can't install the Power Manager utility.
I followed the directions for upgrading to Vista and uninstalled the XP version before installing Vista.  When I try to install the Vista version, I get a pop-up saying that I must uninstall Power manager before continuing.  Power Manager does NOT show up in the Install or Unistall Programs list.
I imagine that there's some trash left in the registry, but am hoping someone has already been through this.

    Hello!
You could try to use CCleaner (free download) and let it check the registry for all residual entries of the previously installed power manager - this will give you the option of cleaning out the registry (make a full backup of the registry just in case).
Either that, or re-install that older/previous version, and uninstall once again - it's quite possible that the previous uninstaller didn't delete all entries in the registry. Also check the "Program Files" directory under ThinkVantage for any folders that contained the power manager software - if the directory still exists, delete it, then try installing the vista version again.
If all that fails, you could try Revo Uninstaller (freeware) - it can fix many "uninstall" leftovers and/or uninstall issues.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot install Vista on Qosmio G30-135 PQG31E - No HDD

    Hallo @ll
I have format my PC and i want to install XP or Vista but i cant.
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer ?
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct!!
    Any sugesstion thx!

    Hi buddy
I have to grin reading this message. :)
    Do you know why?
Because you can find many threads here in the forum regarding this theme
Its not only Qosmio model but you will meet such issue on all notebooks with the newer SATA controller!
You need to install the SATA driver which is part of the Intel Storage Manger or you could set the SATA mode (in BIOS) to compatible mode.
But Im not quite sure if this Qosmio supports such option. Nevertheless you should check it!
As mentioned above; there are many threads about such SATA driver installation so read it!

  • I cannot Install Toshiba Power Saver on my Satellite M45-S169 - Code: Ox7E

I cannot Install/reinstall/remove/run Toshiba power saver on my Satellite M45-S169. after I have reinstalled the system (now it is Windows XP Professional SP2). When I tried to open Power saver via control panel I got accessed denied and every time I reboot the system I get the error message:
    Toshiba Power Save
A fatal error has occurred. This programme will be terminated.
    Code: Ox7E
I cannot neither remove nor reinstall power saver. Can I try to run power saver for Windows XP SP2 applicable for other laptop models? I could not find the one for my model. Which one will fit? Any other solutions/advises to the problem?
    Please, help
    Thank you a lot, Oksana

    Hi
First of all you have to known that this notebook was designed for the US market and all drivers, tools or any other Toshiba utilities should be used from the Toshiba US website.
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
Please ensure that you have already installed Toshiba ACPI Common Modules before you will continue with any further Toshiba software installation.
One important hint; the Toshiba power saver profile must be chosen in the Windows power options!!! Dont forget this!!!

  • I cannot install itunes on windows 8.1

I cannot install itunes on my Toshiba Laptop with windows 8.1. I kept getting error 7. So i removed all of the itunes files from my computer, and did everything the install troubleshooting page suggested, but it still will not install, but now instead of error 7, I am getting error 2.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS4 on Windows Vista Business

Ok people, looking for some help with this.  I have a new PC (less than 2 months old).  I cannot get Photoshop CS4 installed at all.  I'm sure there have been a million threads like this before asking the same question.  Although I am a newb to Photoshop I am certainly not when it comes to computers, this is what I do for a living.  I can't even believe I am actually having to ask for help.... :\
Anyway, help appreciated.  I have Windows Vista Business SP1 (32-bit), and its running on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz with 4 gig of RAM.  I have plenty of free space on my hard drives.
When the install completes, I get the same error message, installed with errors.  When I click to see the error info it says something about language packs (I can get the exact error if you want, just installed and uninstalled about 10 times but hey).
Things I have tried a few times have been to follow through all the other threads and the Adobe support pages - Uninstalling the product through Programs first, running Windows Install Cleanup, running the Adobe CS4 Clean Script - when I do these things in this order both of the cleanup utilities don't find any installs of Photoshop CS4, so it doesn't appear they are doing anything.  I have disabled everything on the PC, done a selective startup, turned off UAC, firewall, anti-virus - everything suggested.  Still, the same error persists.
I have even run my Registry Mechanic and cleaned up that, and of course checked registry permissions etc.  Please help!

You may want to install Vista SP2. It contains a lot of fixes and has the newer 4.5 installer.
Also if Vista is set for English then CS4 has to be set as US English upon install (I think someone already pointed that out).
Before install go services and set the windows installer to auto and start it. Also good idea to turn off windows defender.
Go to MSconfig and turnoff as many start up items that you don't need running (you will have to reboot).
Ensure nothing Adobe related is running in the back ground before install. (someone already mention this I think)
Anti-virus: I turned mine off during install.
I did not install AIR nor Device Central on my system as I would never use them.
    Tiernobyl wrote:
Ok, so I've tried all the things suggested above but still get the same errors....
    Adobe AIR
    Error:
    Error 2.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
    Error:
    Error 2.
    LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
    Error:
    Error 2.
Anyone else have any idea what might be causing my problem?  The other thing I was going to try was contacting Adobe support, but can I do this for the trial version?  When I tried to log a case it kept asking me to select my product, but I don't have one yet....
    Thanks.

  • 'Windows cannot install required files' error while installing Vista SP1

I'm installing Vista Client SP1 on my Macbook pro and getting the following error:
Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Almost exactly as described in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930984/ except my error code is 0x80070017. I'm double-checked CRC on my dvd to ensure it's not corrupt. Also I've previously successfully installed Vista SP1 from the SAME DVD on a different Mac Leopard (desktop)
Any ideas? This is a new Macbook pro, just got it yesterday. Could be DVD drive issue?
    Thanks!

Did you get far enough to delete the FAT partition BootCamp created, so you could create a new NTFS one?

  • Cannot install windows 8 on Pavilion Elite M9600T (KX745AV-ABA) with Vista 64 BIT

I cannot install windows 8 on my computer. I contacted Microsoft and he worked on it for three hours and said I had a graphics card driver problem.I am using a Nvidia GeForce 9800GT which came with the computer.  When I try to update to the latest driver (306.97) Which is on the Microsoft update site and also on the Nvidia site The screen says no signal and goes to sleep. I have been working with a Nvidia rep for a week now and he says it is not their driver that is causing the problem and that I should contact HP. I don't know what else to do. I removed the working Nvidia driver (SP41066) also and Tried to install windows 8 and recieved the same message "Windows installation was not successful" and returned me to Vista 64 Bit. I don't know what else to do. Can someone please help or am I just out of luck. Thank you,

    You're welcome mrchips108
By the way up for one more go. I was finally able to find someone with a possible solution for you. the user yashoshah on the tomshardware forums had the problem:
"Windows installation was not successful. Your previous version of windows will be restored. Please do not switch off your computer during this time"
    SOURCE: Windows installation not successful
He fixed it by removing the HDMI cable and connecting to the monitor through DVI. After it was installed he went back to using HDMI.
How is your video card connected to the monitor: what cable and what interface is on the monitor and what interface are you using on the video card? Perhaps the Microsoft rep you spoke to was partly correct about the video card being the problem. It might be that the driver built into Windows 8 has a problem with certain configurations.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" to those that help solve your problems.

Apple offer this advice which I guess is not much help to you as you have Norton:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1609?viewlocale=en_US
I wonder if it is worth looking in the your firewall configuration>>Programs and deleting any entry for Bonjour - in the hope that you will be prompted to allow it or not when you do the install, or maybe adding it back with permit all.
But someone came up with another possible solution at the end of this thread:

  • Acrobat 8.0 Pro- Cannot Install on Vista

I cannot install acrobat 8.0 pro to my window vista computer.  I have universal Vista on my computer - It means you can use multiple languages.  When I try to install it - at half way of installation its looking for "FONTS/KOZGOPROVI-MEDIUM.OTF" and program stop installing.  When I press cancell it stop installing and start uninstalling the program.
Any idea out there to fix this problem.
    Thank you.

As far as I know, the AA8 activation process is still available. It is gone for AA7. It may be an issue with Win7, 64-bit. I have only heard of 2 folks who have been successful with AA8 on a 64-bit system. Many have succeeded with the 32-bit system. I don't know if looking at that aspect will help at all. If you can download the updates separately from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and successfully install them, maybe that will help (though I have my doubts). I really don't have any other ideas, sorry.

Cannot install Itunes 10.5 - just says failed - w/Vista - no other reason given

    My macbook failed too.
After updating it didnt reboot. I waited for a very long time. In the end I had to force reboot it.
It booted normaly and stopped at the login screen. (Normal on this machine)
When I log in to any of the accounts it starts the process by asking for my name and adress and stuff that usually happens when setting up the machine for the first time.
I knew this was wrong but tried to fill in the info anyway.
After doing that it just reverts back to the login screen.
I am now trying to update it using combo update trough remote desktop from a mac pro.
    Crossing fingers here....
    Update:
It worked. After updating trough remote desktop and rebooting I can log in to my accounts.
