Cannot install VS 2014 Professional (Update 4) on Win 7

I am unable to install VS on my machine. The installer simply hangs and I cannot proceed. At this point in time I have tried all the steps as mentioned in the post below, but nothing seems to help,
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/80dc5118-c386-41ad-b495-fe0e00d468d4/installation-of-visual-studio-professional-2013-rc-hangs?forum=vssetup
Any help appreciated.
Here is a link to the installation log if that helps - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/94505500/dd_vs_professional_20150502132924.log

Hello schnittm,
I'm also not sure of the reason after reading your post. But I have got some reports about VS cannot be installed on Virtual Machine.
Can you refer to this page
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2899270?wa=wsignin1.0 and follow the following steps to collect logs:
Download the
Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET Framework Log Collection tool
      (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12493)
(collect.exe).
Run the collect.exe tool from the directory where you saved the tool.
The utility creates a compressed cabinet file of all the VS and .NET logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.
Post the vslogs.cab file with some descriptions of your issue to the forum.
I recommend you make sure your virtual machine software is up to date and all the drives in your VM are properly installed.
Best regards,
Barry

Cannot install Windows XP Professional on my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp. When I get to the point of inserting the Windows disc and clicking 'Install' at the Boot Camp Assistant screen, it keeps telling me that it cannot find the Install Disc. The installation disc I am using is a new full install disc. I have tried to do the same thing using a Windows 7 disc with the same results. Does anyone have any answers. I am getting desperate!

Perhaps you could offer a suggestion then.

  • 10.5.8 update_'You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume.'

You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
This is the message I get when I click on the hard drive I wan to install it on, I have two hard drives, neither want to work with it. the one with the osx 10.5 has 63 gb left and the empty one has 102gb left. Why is it doing this/ what should I do?

If you're not using the combo updater, use it instead.

  • Cannot Install 10.5.1 Update

    Hello,
I have installed After Effects CS5.5 for Mac on OS X v10.7.5.  I downloaded the After Effects CS5.5 10.5.1 update, and I cannot install it.  The update installer vaporizes/quits/crashes before it can even appear in the Dock.  I went looking for a crash log in the Console but did not find any trace of what did (or did not) happen.
Can the After Effects CS5.5 10.5.1 update be installed on Mac OS X v10.7.5?  If so, where should I be looking to resolve this vaporize/quit/crash when I launch the 10.5.1 updater?
    Thanks for reading!

Make sure that you downloaded the correct updater. See this page for details:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2011/06/after-effects-cs5-5-10-5-1-update-fix-for-text -entry-bug-and-serial-number-problem.html
Note that there is only one bug fix in this updater, so unless you are working with large amounts of text in a single text layer, you may not even need to apply this update.

  • You cannot install mac os x update combined on this volume

    Hi all,
I need your precious help. I have install in my imac leopard 10.5.7 and last night I tried to update for 10.5.8, however the software update didn't identify the new update.
After that I download the update from Apple website but I couldn't do the update because of this message: "you cannot install mac os x update combined on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for update".
    Could you please help me?
    Thanks,

I ran the disk utility and saws verify disk ok. I did the same process for repair disk permissions and seems to have problems.
These warnings are accurate but according to Apple can safely be ignored. See Mac OS X 10.5: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore. IOW, They are not normally problems.
I check the volume scheme but I don't have any partition
You do have partitions & a partition scheme. To check what the scheme is, click on +the drive itself+ in the list on the left in Disk Utility. It will probably be identified as "298,1 GB WDC WD3200AAJS-40VWA0 Media" or something very similar. If it contains the startup disk, it will be the first item in the list. It will have one or more named volumes indented under it, such as "Macintosh HD."
When you have clicked on the WDC drive instead of a volume name indented under it, you should see seven items of information about it at the bottom of Disk Utility's window, to the right of an icon representing the drive. The info is in two columns. The last item in the rightmost column, below the S.M.A.R.T. Status (which should say "Verified"), should be "*Partition Map Scheme :* " & be followed by the scheme type. It should be "GUID Partition Table."
If you don't see the seven info items after selecting the drive, it may indicate a problem that needs attention, but I suspect that you just haven't looked in the right place for the info....
As for the 'cannot install' message, make sure that you have downloaded the right update, that it is not the server update version for example. You may need to download it again, discarding the first download as somehow defective.

  • "You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume."

"You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
This is the error I got when I tried to update my Macbook from OSX 10.5.6 to 10.5.7.
    I downloaded this file (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL826)
A quick Google search suggested I get this one instead (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL827) The "Combo" update.
Well, the 10.5.7 Combo Installer didn't help either.
My friend suggested I try 10.5.8
    Same error message again.
I really need to get at least 10.5.7 for software ASAP. I plan on getting Snow Leopard next month or so, but I really need at least 10.5.7 in the meantime. Any ideas?

    Some things I've tried:
    - I ran a Verify Disk in Disk Utility, and it said there are no problems.
    - Update Logs haven't shown any errors, nor has my computer ever tried to download the update and failed, according to the log.
    - I tried checking updates on a different account, no luck there.
So far, that's all I've tried. Some of the other solutions seem more drastic, and so I'll leave those up to the skilled Tech Support guys on my campus, I've got an appointment tomorrow.

  • Cannot install Oracle 10g rel. 2 on Win Server 2003 SB

    Hello,
I cannot install Oracle 10g rel. 2 on Win Server 2003 SB, because when the the configuration assistant installer try to copy the db files, it stop with the following errors:
    ORA-24324 Service Handle not Initialized
    ORA-24323 Value not authorized
ORA-28547 Connection to Server failed probable Oracle NET ADMIN errorRegards
    Siyavuş

You should be connected as a local administrator to perform the install process.
Try to perfom a software only install, then once you make sure the installation was successful, launch the dbca. It is important for you to use a local account to perform the installation and db setup process, otherwise, if you have authentication problems, even if you comment the authentication line at the sqlnet.ora file you will be facing issues that will make fail the assistant, since it is designed to work assuming the user is OS authenticated.

  • Cannot install neither Raw combatility update 3.9 nor 3.10

    Hi Folks,
I´m running OSX 10.6.8 on an iMac and cannot open the data of my Sony Nex 5n. The raw combatibilty updates doesn´t help because they can only be installed if aperture 3 or iphoto 11 is installed.
    This support document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825?viewlocale=en_US
claims that there is system-level-support for my camera after installing the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.9.
But this update I cannot install (see above)!
Any hints what´s going wrong? – Thank you!
    Kind regards

Where is this information from? I don't see anything in RAW Camera Update 3.10 that would require iPhoto 11 or any other application.
I tried to install it and get this information (sorry, it´s a german system)
    fane_j wrote:
Be that as it may, iPhoto 11 (iPhoto v9) is bundled with Snow Leopard. (There's an iPhoto v9.2.2 update for it.) If, indeed, the RAW Camera Update requires it and you have removed it, you can install it from the SL Install DVD, and then install the RAW update.
iPhoto wasn´t bundled with Snow Leopard, it was a separate purchase included in iLife 11. Today it is only to buy in the Mac App Store.
    fane_j wrote:
Alternatively, download the update, then use Pacifist to install it yourself.
That might damage my system, I have to work with. Thank you.

  • Cannot install acrobat 9 pro updates on osx lion

    Hi,
I have not browsed through the forums here, so please forgive me if this question had been asked before. Are there known issues between Acrobat 9 Pro and OSX Lion? We have a user who has OSX 10.7.5 and Acrobat 9 Pro. He is not able to update Acrobat as there is no option to do so when he clicks on Help. He tried manually downloading and installing updates but when he is asked to select the copy of Adobe product to update, he only has the option to cancel.
I installed Acrobat 9 Pro on a Macbook running Mountain Lion and did not encounter any problem installing updates.
    Is this a known issue?
    Thanks,
    M

Hi, yes, understood that they are different things. However, if I'm to
rely on the link provided on the first reply then does it follow that 9
Pro is also not supported on Mountain Lion? I have a MACbook here on OSX
Mountain Lion, and as I've also mentioned on my first post, I was able to
install 9 Pro and update it as well.
It really is just odd that Lion is singled out here. I also checked this
and there is no mention of problems with updating 9 Pro:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/known-issues-mac-os-10.html
Sorry, but just trying to really find a workaround for this issue right
now. We though of using X Pro instead but, again, if I rely on the system
    requirements on this link -
    http://www.adobe.com/sea/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html - the OSX
version our user has is still not supported.
    Mac OS
    Intel processor
    Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.4
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
    1.2GB of available hard-disk space
    1024x768 screen resolution
    DVD-ROM drive
    Safari 4 for Mac OS X v10.5.8; Safari 4 or 5.0.x for Mac OS X v10.6.4
    Thanks.

  • I cannot install the new Itunes update on my PC

    I cannot successfully install Itunes update to my PC. Error messages are: (1) an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly;
    (2) ituneshelper.exe tried to load the tuntime library incorrectly.
I have tried downloading, saving, and manually running Itunes64setup.exe as well as initially letting it run automatically. I also receive a message that Apple Mobile device failed to start correctly. I told it to ignore this.

Also consider the following approach.  I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.

  • Cannot install 10.6.6 Update

I can't install the 10.6.6 update from the update menu, nor can I install the combo update.
Installer[154] IFJS:*exception:TypeError:Result of expression 'my.target'[null] is not an object.
What gives? Every single time I go to update something goes wrong. I'm just about to throw this poor excuse for a laptop out the window. Oh and BTW - yes I've already FORMATTED and reinstalled OS 10 3 times. Genius bar gurus are baffled as well. It says Java cannot be evaluated. Riddle me this Jobs.

Well here is a walkthrough for users having this problem. If you jack something up, don't blame me. It's not my fault. This is what I did, it worked, hopefully it works for you.
BACKUP EVERYTHING. Literally, do it. Backup everything! Back-Up-Your-Files. I cant tell you how important this is. Don't say "Oh I'm the man, I wont mess anything up." If you do - then your not the man.
If you are experienced enough to make a bootable backup, great! That will make things easier if you bone something up.
If not grab an external hard drive and your OS install disc.
Step 1 (For users without bootable backup) :
Rename your external drive to External Boot (trust me, just do it)
Open the disk on your desktop and hit command-shift-g
Paste this line in: /Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/
    Open OSinstall.mpkg
Select the external drive and install OSX onto it.
    Step 2: (For everyone)
    Shut down.
As you turn you computer back on hold CMD-OPT-SHIFT-DELETE
    Select your external drive.
It will take a while to boot.....
When it gets going, you will have full functionality, just a little slower.
Download and install Pacifist at http://www.charlessoft.com/
    Download the update you need.
Open the update DMG and copy the PKG to your desktop.
Open Pacifist and drag the PKG into the window.
Right click on the PKG in Pacifist - select " Install to Other Disk"
Select your internal drive!! Notice that "External Boot" is obvious. This is why we renamed your external drive.
This will take a while. Let it install.
Okay, if it's done - lets reboot into it. You need to boot in using SAFE MODE. Im doing a true dual boot on my macbook - so I have chameleon installed and I just need to use a switch to start into safe boot. I think you have to hold shift during startup. Look up this info.
If you've gotten into safe boot - your 50% there. Go into the disk utility and repair the heck out of your disk.
Your applications may not open properly, but thats because permissions are messed up. Just keep repairing. If you have to, boot into your external again and use that to repair.
    You have your update.
