Cannot join multiple objects into one.

I have four separate objects that I have created.  I now need to add a white outline.  However, because they are separate, I am getting the outline around the individual objects so it is showing in places where I do not want it to show.  I have tried the join command, group command, etc. but still cannot get these objects to become one object.  Any assistance will be GREATLY appreciated!
I posted a screenshot below.  I am using AI CS6 v.16.0.3 (64-bit) on a Win 7 OS.

You should be able to use the Pathfinder pallet to join these. Alternately, you could add the stroke to the group using the Appearance pallet, and then move it behind the content.
As a side note, if you treat your text stroke the same way, it can be moved behind the text for a better-looking result. Add the stroke to the Text in the Appearance pallet, and then move it behind the Characters.

  • How to join multiple tracks into one NOT from CD

I have mp3s which I added to my library. There's annoying pauses between then on my ipod. I want to make all 13 of these tracks into one track. Is there a way to do this? This is not from an audio cd that I can join track, this is in mp3 format already on my desktop.

Check out Doug Adams' Join Together.
Also, 3am Coffee's offering a bunch of scripts that will do the same thing, but unlike Doug's, these guys want $10.

  • Joining Multiple CDs into One Track

I listen to books on CD. When I rip each CD I join the tracks to get one track for each CD. Is there a way to join all 8 or 9 CDs into one big single track so I will have only a single track for the book?
It would be easier to bookmark a single track than trying to remember if I was on CD 6 or CD 7 or whatever.
    Thanks for your help

You want the Join Together script, which merges tracks after you've ripped them to your computer. Bear in mind that this script converts your files to AAC, so unless you're starting from lossless files, you'll be trans-coding.

  • Binding multiple objects into one

I'm creating a form, and i already have 5 drop down boxes that are bound to 5 other text boxes that generate numbers based on each selection.  This gives me a 10 digit number for purchasing. (2 digit- 1 digit - 4 digit - 2 digit - 1 digit) My question is, can one text box be bound to the 5 drop down boxes, so that when it generates that number, its all in one single text box and can be selected for copying and pasting in another program?
    thanks

I'm still very confused about this.  Here is exactly what I need.
I have 4 drop down lists:
    COMPANY_INPUT
    BRANCH-DEPARTMENT_INPUT
    GL_ACCOUNT_INPUT
    SEGMENT_OF_GL_INPUT
    I have 1 text box:
    gl_line_number_output
Each drop down list has data binding to spit out a numbered code.  I have each drop down list bound to a different text field.  What I want to do is direct the bound data from all 4 drop down lists into one text field instead of seperate ones, listing the bound data in succession, to create a complete account number from all 4 drop down lists.  The name of the text field I would like the binding to be directed to is called gl_line_number_output.
I've just started using the LiveCycle software and need someone to write a code exactly as it would appeare if I were to copy and paste it onto script editor.

  • Morphing multiple objects into one.

I'm having trouble morphing 4 pictures into one. Any clue how because I don't know where to start being as I am a newbie to the motion graphics and eager to learn.

You can use any of a number of Distort effects to change the shape of your transitioning layers. You will probably also want to animate their position. How do you envision this morph occuring? Is there a flash of light as they transition or are you hoping for a seamless transition from the four to the one? Do you have some screenshots showing the images you want to use?
Here is a tutorial on morphing from one image to another. It's a very old tutorial - from version 5.5! (For perspective, the current version is 12.2. And don't be fooled by the CS numbering system. AE CS5.5 was version 10.5.)
Anyway, is this the kind of thing you were looking to do?
Morphing is not a beginner-level kind of thing. I strongly recommend you go through the resources I linked in my first post before you attempt anything in AE.

  • How to join multiple paragraphs into one

I am working with the latest Pages 5.0.1 that is a step back from Pages '09.
Every time I paste text from webbrowser each line is pasted as new paragraph. I'd like to select multiple paragraphs and join into a single paragraph.
I thought of using Replace function, but there is no way to input new line character.
I tried coping end of line and pasting and it does not work. It might've worked in Pages 09.

    Hi Sergei,
I tried coping end of line and pasting and it does not work. It might've worked in Pages 09.
It works in TextEdit. Click at the start of Line 2. Hold the shift key and click at the end of Line 1.
Now you have selected a Paragraph Break.
    Edit > Copy (command c).
Edit > Find > Find and Replace (option command f).
Paste (command v)  the Paragraph Break into the Find box.
Type a space into the Replace box.
    Click on All.
Maybe this method will work in Pages 5.

    Ian.

  • Combining multiple objects into one

I am very new to illustrator but learning fast.  I just cant seem to figure this out.
So I made a simple pizza using several ovals of different colors.  I copied it so that I could make multiple pizza with different toppings and slices missing etc.  I made a triangle to place over the finished pizza and selected everything and hit minus the front.  Obviously this created several problems because the cheese portion removed the dough portion underneath and the toppings removed etc.
So how do I combine the pizza so that it is one solid object so that I can place another object on top and use the minus front function?

    "window > pathfinder"
    Wow that was really helpful.
"Don't use minus front. Assuming you have only fills, not strokes: make that triangle white (or any other color that's not contained in the art. Then use pathfinder "Merge". After applying, delete what's left of the triangle. (ungroup art first)"
Thanks!  I tried that and it sort of worked but it messed other portions up.  I think Im just going to go back and do this a different way.

  • OLM - Merging Multiple Learning Objects into One

Does anyone have experience or success merging multiple OLM learning objects into one? I think that we are supposed to be able to do this by exporting a content folder that contains all the learning objects that we want to merge into one CBT. The export works for me, and the learning object plays, but the content is not complete or combined. I noticed that the new content contains files called metadata(0).xml and metadata(1).xml representing the two learning objects that I tried to merge into one. I wonder if there's something I'm supposed to do with these files. Has anyone been successful in merging content?

Content can be combined into a course structure like:
    Course Learning Object
    -- Topic 1 learning object
    -- Topic 2 learning object
By creating a parent "course" learning object and moving the individual objects underneath it. The offering is then tied to that course learning object, so that when a user enrolls, in order to complete it the user navigates through both objects.
You cannot combine all the pages from separate objects into a single learning object as the pages themselves have no knowledge of each other.
    Does that make sense?

  • SQL Query -How2bring multiple results into one field using Formatted Search

    Hi Everyone
i am trying to bring in the results of the field dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT using a formatted search into a row level using the following query:
    SELECT     dbo.LOT_ITEM.LOT
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN dbo.LOT_ITEM ON dbo.DLN1.ItemCode = dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM
    WHERE     dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM=$[DLN1.ItemCode]
however the result of the dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT field could be more then one value depending on how many lots are assigned for that item
(for example this query would be similar to assigning batch/serial numbers to an item being despatched - as you can choose multiple batches/serials depending on the quantities available and required and then move from the left to the right side of the selection window) if that makes sense!
is it possible to bring in the multiple results into one field? and how can i amend the above query to include this?
    Thankyou in advance :o)

    Hi Suda
Thanks for replying :o) but im not sure about the query?
just to simplify it (as the query im working with is to do with 3rd party addons) i have used the serial/batchs field instead and used standard demo database fields from SBO 2005 sp01:
    SELECT     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_IntrSerial
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN
                    dbo.ixvSerialNoFact ON dbo.DLN1.DocEntry = dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry
    WHERE     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.ItemCode='g1000' and dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry = '193'
The above brings me the relevant results but when i change it to be used in a formatted search:
    SELECT     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_IntrSerial
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN
                    dbo.ixvSerialNoFact ON dbo.DLN1.DocEntry = dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry
    WHERE     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.ItemCode=$[dln1.itemcode] and dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry = $[dln1.DocEntry]
i cant seem to get it to work - now this may be because the serial number is not allocated until teh record is added to the system, however when this happens i am unable to go back in and manually trigger the query as the delivery note rows cannot be selected!
i  think as what im originally wanting an answer for is same as this example, im wanting to know if this is even possible?
    Thanks

  • PowerPoint: Images not found after joining multiple PPTX to one

We are using a code block which worked fine in PowerPoint 2007 and 2010:
public static PPT.Presentation AddPresentation(PPT.Application appl, bool withWindow)
    PPT.Presentation presentation = appl.Presentations.Add(ConversionUtils.BoolToTriState(withWindow));
    return presentation;
public static void AppendSlidesFromFile(PPT.Presentation presentation, String fileName, int slideStart, int slideEnd)
    if (presentation == null) return;
    try
    int index = presentation.Slides.Count;
    int i = presentation.Slides.InsertFromFile(fileName.Replace("/", "\\"), index, slideStart, slideEnd);
    if (i == 1)
    index = presentation.Slides.Count;
    PPT.Slide slide = presentation.Slides[index];
    catch (Exception e)
In PowerPoint 2013 (highest patch level, verified on 2013 Professional and 2013 Professional Plus) this still joins our PPTX into one, however, all the images embedded in the single PPTX files are merely shown as frames or image objects, saying that the
    image cannot be found.
No exceptions are being thrown in the process.
Is there any fix or workaround available for this?
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi,
I have used the above code you provided to merge ppts into one, but I can't reproduce the issue. In my ppt, images of different format, png, jpg, bmp, gif, all could  work. My PowerPoint is Office 2013 Professional Plus 2013. What's the format of
the image you have inserted into your ppt ?Have you update your PowerPoint? will it happen when you insert an image manually in your PowerPoint 2013 ?
    Best Regards

  • Pasting multiple objects into frame

    Greetings everyone
I was wondering if someone could shed some light on how to best paste multiple objects into a single frame.
Mainly, I'm trying to nest objects that form a part of a newspaper article header; since it's a design element that keeps repeating with each single article I don't want to spend time with manually positioning the elements each time--it's time consuming and prone to sloppiness.
Unfortunately, the base frame will have about three objects that need to be nested within it. Once I paste one object into a frame, the next time I do `Paste into`--the content (previously pasted object in this case) just gets overridden.
I've read that, to paste multiple objects into a single frame, one should group the objects first. Now this works pretty well for getting them into the frame, but leaves me with no options to position them relative to the frame. I can't move or position an object individually and I have no option to ungroup them once they've been pasted.
Here's a small mock-up to depict my peculiar predicament:
Ideally, I'm aiming to have the main header frame to fit the content of the nested objects and for it to be flexible enough that I can quickly span it across multiple columns as per article requirements.

    !kRON wrote:
For items that are part of the group, their (X,Y) location coordinates are relative to the document--neither to the group nor the parent frame. The group itself has coordinates that are relative to the parent frame (X+ offset, Y+ offset). I can select the group and the parent frame and use the align to selection options. For individual items, I cannot make a selection of both them and the frame, only between items that are part of a group. I loose options to align an individual item relative to the parent frame, which means I have to drag them around and rely on smart guides.
I've tinkered around some more and it'd appear it's not possible to lay out the elements as I imagined. So I have to resort to grouping the items that would form a frame and pasting them into a frame. If multiple frames have to be members of a single frame I'd have to group the frames and paste them into the single frame and so on.
Based on my layout mock-up, I'd end up with 3 frames within the header frame:
    Article header
    Heading
    Article type
    Separator
    Article heading
    Title
    Footer
    Author
    Shape
Based on experience, should I go with this or stick with the old fashined moving around of loose elements? Will it be a lot of work to maintain resizing and repositioning of the various items and their frames once I start changing the width and height of the header frame or will it save me some time?
I'm not a working designer or production worker, so anything new takes me longer than I think it should, because I don't have a rich reservoir of quick methods at my fingertips.
Your description above interested me, because I've been wrestling with the annoying limitations of manipulating and adding compound objects in anchored frames. For many situations, it's probably simplest to assemble each iteration of a compound object, that introduces a new element, outside the anchored frame, then group the elements and paste the grouped object into the anchored frame.
However, the arrangement of elements in your example made me think that a table might be a workable solution. The answer I arrived at is "Yes, it's a solution, but it takes a while to set up." If it's reusable easily, then it might be worthwhile investing in a few experiments.
I've attached a zipped idml interchange version of the file, and also a PDF.
    Here are some notes:
    * I created a table with three rows and three columns, no header or footer rows. Three columns because I thought I'd paste a vertical line into an inline anchored frame in the center cell of the top row, for the separator line. Later, I realized that defining the vertical cell rule as paper color would suffice, so I merged the two right cells on the top row to create a two-column row, with text in each cell and the vertical separator between them.
    * I merged all three cells on the second row into a single cell.
    * I merged the two right cells on the bottom row, but later, when I moved the cell rule to position the triangular graphic in the inline anchored frame in the right cell, it moved the vertical cell rule in the first row. So, I had to unmerge (or split) the cells, and cut/paste the triangular graphic's anchored frame into the rightmost cell. To position the anchored frame, I moved the vertical cell rule with Shift+Drag, to keep the table width unchanged.
    * I sampled the purple color with the eyedropper tool while cells were selected and the swatch panel was set to fill the selected object.
    * I didn't spend much time matching the type, as you can see. To position the text, I adjusted the cell margins in some cases, and left/right indention in some cases; I'm not sure which is more efficient in situations where there will be different amounts of text to fit. I didn't create cell styles or paragraph styles (BAH! Bad, bad, bad process) because I won't be repeating this stuff, but you probably will benefit greatly from defining styles for your repeating needs.
    * The triangular cut into the bottom row made it easy to manage creating and positioning the graphic. A non-geometrical object might be trickier. The triangle is a text frame, set to negative space above, so it overlaps the cell above it, enough to avoid a black gap.
    * Except for the vertical paper-colored divider line, all the cells have zero-width strokes.
    * I created the table in a text frame, that I fitted down to the size of the table, but I can't remember if I selected, copied, and pasted the text frame into the text flow to anchor it, or if I selected the table in the text frame, copied and pasted it into the flow. Not sure if it makes a difference in work efficiency.
If I understand your general needs, this should work well for changing text and adjusting the column widths.
    HTH

  • How do I add multiple images into one file?

I'm sure this is something that's been covered in another post (or even in the help portal) but I think my wording in my search terms are not correct or... I don't know, because I just can't find what I'm looking for.
I want to know how to add multiple images into one file/one image, both horizontally and/or vertically. To give you an idea of what I mean, check out :
    http://www.best10apps.com/apps/comic-story,531596060.html
If you scroll down, you'll see a heading entitled : Screenshots of Comic Story. Notice how there's 3 pictures (divided by borders). 2 of those pictures are side by side, and 1 of them is below the first 2 pictures.
I want to know how to add different pictures/images and put them into one picture.

One way is to create template PSD files and populate them with your images using Photoshops scripts.
Photo Collage Toolkit UPDATED June 12, added Picture Package Support via PasteImageRoll and BatchPicturePackage scripts.
The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
There are eleven scripts in this package they provide the following functions:
TestCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to test a Photo Collage Template while you are making it with Photoshop.
CollageTemplateBuilder.jsx - Can build Templates compatible with this toolkit's scripts.
LayerToAlphaChan.jsx - Used to convert a Prototype Image Layer stack into a template document.
InteractivePopulateCollage.jsx - Used to interactively populate Any Photo Collage template. Offers most user control inserting pictures and text.
ReplaceCollageImage.jsx - use to replace a populated collage image Smart Object layer with an other image correctly resized and positioned.
ChangeTextSize.jsx - This script can be used to change Image stamps text size when the size used by the populating did not work well.
PopulateCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to Automatically populate a Photo Collage template and leave the populated copy open in Photoshop.
BatchOneImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Collage templates that only have one image inserted. The Collage or Image may be stamped with text.
BatchMultiImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with images in a source image folder. Easier to use than the interactive script. Saved collages can be tweaked.
BatchPicturePackage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with an image in a source image folder
PasteImageRoll.jsx - Paste Images into a document to be print on roll paper.

  • Converting multiple columns into one.

    All,
I have a requirement to convert multiple columns into one. Following is the pseudo code of current implementation. It unions the various columns ( col1, col2........) into a new column new_col. But perforamnce is extrmely slow owing to multiple unions. It may be noted that tables and where conditions of all these queries are same.
Can you help me create a more efficient query?
    select col1 , col2, col3, col4 from my_tables where some_cols = my_condition;Below is the query used to convert these columns into one.

how do i convert multiple tracks into one large mp3?

    Hi,
You can use an app such as Audacity or Join Together to create one larger file. If AAC file used instead of mp3, you could use GarageBand.
If you have the original CD, you can join the tracks whilst re importing disc.
