Cannot keep all of the devices in a "Managed" status in DCNM
I have 24 devices in DCNM under DCNM Server Administration -> Devices and Credentials. I have 16 7K VDCs (4 physical chassis) and 8 5K VDCs (8 physical chassis). At one point, all of the devices were in a "Managed" status. Now I'm having trouble keeping them that way. The revert to "Unmanaged" for various reasons such as "Internet server error", "Error when executing database query" and my personal favorite "Discrepancy in accounting log messages". For the last case, which is the only one I've tried to fix thus far, I followed the instructions under "Cisco DCNM for LAN" -> "Troubleshooting DCNM-LAN" -> "Trouble with Device Discovery or Device Status" section of the "Cisco DCNM Fundamentals Guide, Release 5.x" documentation. The device will come back into a "Managed" status and the revert back to "Unmanaged". Also, discovery seems to take a very long time. I started discovery yesterday and when I came into work this morning it was still trying to discover devices. Is anybody else having this issue?
The answer is no and even when you select the TV safe area, this often happens to longer titles in iDvd (sorry).
Might be less of an issue or at least more manageable within DVDSP (apple's pro apps).

Syncing problems.
How can I sync my iphone 5 and ipad to ensure that i dont need to use home sharing to access all of my music library?I don't think I have made myself clear... I have recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 5 so everything was set up to sync with no problems at all. I transferred everything across to my new device by iCloud and everything appears as it was on my old device including on the face of it my music library. However, I cannot play all of the songs in fact the majority! When at home I can access the entire library via home sharing but that is no use away from the house. I never had this problem with iPhone 4 and although I am automatically syncing the device to iTunes it is not working. If I try to play songs via the device it skips until it finds a song that cAn be played and if I try and play the device via the laptop/iTunes an ! Type signal appears and I cannot play the song!
Any ideas re solutions would be appreciated??? -
My daughter's ipod touch 4th Gen cannot sync over wi-fi and cannot be seen in the devices section of itunes for windows. I have gone through all steps of the troubleshooting guide. All of our other ios devices are wi-fi sync-ing fine. Can anyone help?
Not sure how long this has been a problem. Kids are young and I manually manage most things but recently having music synced is an issue. All software has been kept up to date.bayfsmithy wrote:

I misplaced my ipad, so I remotely erased it. Then I found it, but now I cannot use all of the options in the settings. I have restored from backup, but it still is not letting me use all functionality. Help!
Would throwing it in Recovery mode and restoring as new clear it up?

Step 1: Turn off the iPhone. To do this press and hold the power button till you see the “Slide to Power off” screen. Now slide the button to turn it off.
In case your iPhone is stuck in an infinite loop and the previous option is unavailable, press and hold the Power and Home button till the screen goes off. Remember to leave both the buttons as soon as the screen goes off and before the Apple logo appears again.
Step 2: Connect the iPhone’s USB cable to your computer but not to your iPhone yet.
Step 3: Now hold down the Home button and while you are holding it connect the USB cable. Keep holding the Home button till you see the Connect to iTunes screen on your iPhone(Screenshot shown below). iTunes will show an alert saying a device in recovery mode has been detected.

HT1386 HELP -- "The ipod cannot be synced. The device is not connected"
Just got a 1st gen ipod & trying to Sync it, it just keeps saying "The ipod cannot be synced. The device is not connected" -- the device IS connected, it even says the ipod is there on iTunes, but won't Sync. Also, iTunes is up-to-date (just checked) so not that. Been trying since last night, so I know turning the PC off & back on or restarting doesn't work either.
It's also saying the HDD isn't connected -- which it is because I can access it & iTunes can play songs from it.
Not sure if this detail is of use, but I'm running Windows 7.... My iPod is running iOS 4.2.1
Please help, im stuck! :-/

This is my first ipod, so please don't assume I already know anything about Apple products -- I won't be offended if you go into ipod basics lol.Appears to be fixed.
Moved all music recorded at 128bit or less to different location.
Moved video files to different location.
Synced sections of iTunes collection individually: Only Music, then Podcasts, etc.
Seems to be working fine. Apps also came over without changes.
???? Only thing missing is my PLAYLISTS.
???? Someone know where they reside on my old HD list and why they did not come over? -
Ipod classic has been wiped saying 'no music'etc.
Cannot see it on the 'device list' in my itunes. I have tried restoring to factory settings and reloading...it reloads some of the music, but when I plug the Ipod back in, it wipes it again. Ocassionally Itunes freezes when I plug in the Ipod.Make sure your headphones are plugged in all the way, meaning you cannot see any of the silver still showing from the headphone's plug.
A feature of the Nano is to put it to sleep when the display goes out and it does not detect any headphones.

I want to remove the message that pops up every time i connect my IPhone that says: "Photos in the Camera Roll of "Name" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.".
This computer is not one that I want to import photos to (or sync with the iPhone), so this message is just very annoying, and it pops up all the time. I cannot find a way to disable this message. It is constantly appearing. No application is launching, I have turned off the iPhoto launch in the Image Capture app as well as in iPhoto. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information about this.Because your computer sees your phone, as it would see any digital camera, as long as you have photos in your camera role. Since you state you don't sync with this computer & have a passcode on your phone, that's why you get that message. The only way to prevent that message is either start syncing with this computer; remove the photos from your camera roll prior to connecting; or first turn off your passcode before you connect. Either that, or you live with it.
You shouldn't be storing photos in your camera roll anyway. iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. You should be regularly importing them. -
I cannot get a WiFi signal, which means that I cannot access all of the other features on my ipod. Is there anyway I can access all of the other features without Siri or WiFi?
Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

I have an iPod 5th gen. My audiobook playlists disappeared. They show as "on this device" in iTunes, but I cannot locate them on the device. Even the audiobook tab has disappeared. This happed after the most recent iTunes update.
- Delete all AB and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Audio Book (if present) and delete
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

"Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode. You must unlock the device to import them." That's the new error message when I plug in my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 into the MacBook Pro running iPhoto '11 v.9.4.3. My Mac OSX is still 10.8.5.
So, I unlock the iPhone by entering the "passcode" before I plug it into the MBP and still iPhoto does nothing. At least it doesn't issue the error message above.
I've checked both iPhoto preferences and those for Photos and Camera in the Settings on the iPhone. There doesn't seem to be anything to change this lack of connectivity.
What next please?An hour-long phone discussion with Apple Support yesterday solved this question and sorted a couple of others.
As for this one, do not ignore any messages which pop up when you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?". The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".
OK, you cancelled like I did, thinking "What on earth is this for?". Mistake. You can force the issue by having iTunes open when you next plug in your iPhone. Tell the iPhone that it can trust its old friend, your computer and voila! Your photos can download into iPhoto again.

My picture files open up off center so I cannot see all of the bottom part of the picture. The ruler across the top read "0" to 13.5". Down the left side of the picture the ruler reads 3", 2",1", 0, 1", 2",3" etc. This leaves a three inch empty space at the top of my viewing area and I lose three inches of the bottom of my picture. I cannot figure out how to adjust this. I have tried the screen modes and they do not fix my problem. Yes you can drag and drop music to the iPiod if you select Manually Manage Music and Videos in iTunes.
