Cannot launch Adobe Captivate - PowerPoint

Hi,
When trying to Record through the Adobe Presenter option in PowerPoint the below error message appears.
As requested Captivate and Powerpoint are set to be Run As Administrator all the time. Even the local Admin accoutn can't perform this task.
This is a trial of the eLearning suite and is Captivate 7, on a Windows 7 PC 32 bit with Office 2010.
Any help is appreciated.

Hmm... elearning suite is no longer there since CP7 appeared. Which version of Presenter do you use? If you talk about eLS 6, it will be Presenter 8, maybe not compatible with CP7 because Presenter 9 is now available.

You have to launch as an administrator, is not the same as  being administrator: use right-click menu on shortcut key or .exe  and change that permantently using the advanced tab.
Don't have your documents on network drive, but copy the document to your system, and you can copy it back after finishing with it.

  • Windows 2008 windows service cannot launch Adobe Reader

I created a windows service that receives pdf files in one folder and should print them opening adobe reader. In my PC with Windows 7 it works just fine but when the application is deployed in Windows 2008 R2 server then the windows service is not able to
    launch Adobe Reader.
I searched on Internet and I found that it might be related to the Session 0 used by the services.
I tried multiple possible solutions without success.
Thank you in advance for any support with this issue

    Hi,
Are there any related error messages logged?
If not, I suggest you use Process Monitor to find out why exactly Windows cannot launch Adobe Reader.

  • Unable to Launch Adobe Captivate

When I select Adobe Captivate in Programs (Windows 7), the Adobe Login screen displays and prompting me to enter my Adobe login for Adobe Captivate.  I enter in my valid username/pwd and nothing happends.  The login pop-up disappears and nothing happens.  I haven't used Captivate in about a month.  I originally had a trial version and then bought the license. I do recall entering in the license when I first used.  Now I am unable to launch the application.

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Just want to confirm, Do you have Captivate 7 or Captivate 6 ?
Click on Start -> On smart search type "Adobe Application Manager"
    Click on Red Application Manager
    It should update itself
Once Update is done, Launch Adobe Captivate
    Thanks,

  • Cannot launched Adobe reader - either version 9.4 or 10

    Hi,
I recieved the error message below when launched the adobe reader version 9.4 or version 10 (Reader X).
Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
I have been googgling for few weeks for the solutions but still doesn't worked. I have tried the following:
    1) Repaired the installation
    2) Installed the latest version
    3) Installed to different path
    4) Performed registry cleanup using various cleanup utilities and install again
    5) Run as administrator
    6) Set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2
I am currently using Windows 7 Professional OS.
This has forced me to use other PDF reader instead of Adobe Reader! Hope anyone here can help to resolve this issue, thanks in advanced!
    cheers

How do you launch Adobe Reader - from a shortcut, or by double-clicking on a PDF file?
    Does C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe actually exist?
If launching from a shortcut, is the above path and program name in the shortcut* in single quotes ( ' ) or double quotes ( " )?
If from a PDF file, is the above path and program name in the file association** in single quotes ( ' ) or double quotes ( " )?
*) right-click on the shortcut | Properties.  The path and program should be in the 'Shortcut' tab.
**) open Windows Explorer, Tools | Folder Options | tab File Types.  Locate the PDF entry, select it and click 'Advanced'.  On the panel that opens click 'Edit'; you should now see the path and program to open a PDF file.  (This method is from an older Windows version and could be slightly different on Windows 7.)

  • Adobe Captivate 5 Not Opening - Loading Screen Freezes

Hello - I just installed eLearning Suite 2 and cannot open Adobe Captivate on a Windows 7 machine. All other eLearning Suite 2 programs launch and run, but Captivate freezes on the "Loading..." screen at open and will not proceed any further.
I have previously used Captivate 4 with no errors. I meet the system requirements and have plenty of open disk space.
I have tried running as admin, restarting my machine, disconnecting from my work network at startup and clearing the user preferences. None of those helped.
    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    Hi there
Excellent point and thanks for sharing. I'm not sure if you are allowed to do this where you work, but there is an application that may assist. It's called "Font Frenzy" and you can read about it at the link below:

  • Adobe Captivate 7 Crashes Whenever I open any new or existing item.

I can launch Adobe Captivate 7 on my OS X 10.9.2 MacBook Pro (2013 with dedicated graphics card). However, whenever I try to open an existing item or even launch a new item, the software crashes on me. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the program once. I've cleared the preferences cache and opened the "CleanPreferencesMac" file. But nothing else seems to work.
What solutions are there to fix this?

Yes. I have the latest version. I figured out the issue. It fixes when I turn off the “Dictation” function on my Mac. I found the solution by chance. I was also having trouble with Photoshop erasing my text every time I would change a font and found the “Dictation” function was the cause. When I turned Dictation off, I opened Captivate and am not having the crash issue anymore!
For anybody else having the issue, just go into System Preferences, open Dictation & Speech and turn the dictation tool off.

  • Adobe Captivate 6 Issues

I recently had a virus and my Adobe Captivate 6 applicaiton had to be removed and reinstalled.
    1. When I attempt to open the application now, I recieve  a pop up box that says, "Some Adobe Captivate features such as screen capture and audio may not work as intended without Administrator privileges.  Right Click the Adobe Captivate icon,  and then chose Run as Administrator to launch Adobe Captivate in Administrator mode."  This was not something I was required to do in the past, why is this step necessary?
    2.  When I attempt to use Themes, I am being informed that all overrides to object styles and properties will be lost.  Do you want to continue?  This step is resulting in my text captions appearing with black triangles on each corner and in some instances a black background with greyed out letters.  How do I set this option keep ovverides to object styles?
    3.  How do you change a set as default theme?
    4.  Is it possible to restore cached files that were previously worked on?  If so, how?

You probably had Administrator access set up on your PC previously and Captivate was set to launch with Run As Administrator privileges.  Now you don't for some reason.  Perhaps whoever did the work on your computer has not set it up the same way this time, in which case you will find Captivate will not work properly.
As far as restoring files from the cache, see this thread:

    Hello,
    Thank you for replying.
    1)      I have followed the process you proposed to me.  But I never get the mention (of that kind of mention) : Having Trouble connecting to Internet.  So I can’t go further.  It seems to be impossible to install the software with an online connection but it seems to be impossible to install it without an offline connection as well.
    2)      A have an new question : Which ports and protocols should we open/follow to make the installation possible ?
I have asked our IT department to investigate the point 1.  I am not sure they will find a solution and we may have to stop and give up.
Thanks in advance for replying to my second question.
    Best regards.

  • Problems - Powerpoint to Adobe captivate

    Hi Community,
I am after some help/ advise. I am using Adobe Captivate 3
and have sucessfully converted a Powerpoint presentation into Adobe
Captivate. However i have come across 1 stumbling block. This is
the initial powerpoint presentation is designed for a open day
where we want this presentation looping around on a laptop (hence
the need for Adobe Captivate). However the powerpoint presentation
currently has 5 avi movies in it and when the Powerpoint
presentation is imported into Adobe Captivate the avi movies just
show as pictures and do not play.
Is there a way to get these avi files to play within
Captivate. I have tried adding a animation into the timeline for
the slide however i get the message "This AVI file cannot be
converted by a adobe flash file. Conversion aborted".
Without these avi files in the published movie it is no worth
doing. So i am hoping someone can give me some help and advise.
    Much appreciated
    Steve

    Welcome to our community, Steve
You probably need to look at a third party solution for the
    AVIs.
    See if
    this
    link helps any.

  • Powerpoint custom animations to adobe captivate 5.5

I have Adobe captivate 5.5 on my Mac. I started a captivate presentation from a Powerpoint slide show (2008) in which there were some custom animations on the slides. I requested that the slides auto advance during the import and did not link the presentation.
When I run the show in captivate the custom animations pause and I have to click each time to advance through the animations. Then the slide show continues in automatic mode.
Is there any way to control this or do I have to pull apart the slides in ppt to be able to voice over the slides at the appropriate time and have them auto advance?
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi there
The first thing you will need to do is to publish your Captivate projects as a video format. This means F4V or FLV. You then upload the resulting file to YouTube. However, please note that if you take this approach, you lose any ability for interactivity, such as clicking links to open other resources, simulating an application or quizzing your viewer.
