Cannot launch itunes in windows 7 after updating to latest version
After Upgrading to Itunes 11.1.5.5 on Windows 7 64 bit Itunes is not launching, tried to start up in safemode no luck, any suggestions greatly appreciated.
No Error Message, Nothing happens,

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available. -
Does not load pictures after updating with latest version
I have windows 7 and just updated the latest version of firefox. Since I did this, none of the pictures load in my email.

just updated to the latest version of itunes for windows. i can't stream any of my radio stations and when i try to connect to the itunes store i get an error -3212 message saying i'm not connect to the internet, yet my browser works and my wireless status is ok.
I also had this issue when one day itunes stopped working for me on windows 8...
the error message I received first was: C:Programme files\common files\Apple\Apple Push service.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error.

Your response addressed how to fix this issue with earlier windows operating systems, but not for windows 8, so what ended up working for me was your advice applied a little differently. For anyone running windows 8 needing to know how to resolve this issue by repairing the Apple Application Support program, try following these simple steps - what a relief it was to have itunes working again after applying b noir's answer to the windows 8 operating system!
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.)
2. Click the Programs and Features icon.
3. In the list of programs and features, find the Apple Application Support feature and click to select it.
4. In the gray title bar above it, click Repair.
5. Approve the window prompts that follow until the repair has been completed.
6. Relaunch iTunes.

Just updated to latest iTunes. My library is missing playlists, some playlists are incomplete. User\username\Music\iTunes did not bring up a link to restore my library. Using Firefox, Windows Vista
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Home sharing not working after update to latest version of itunes
Prior to the latest update I was able to properly share items across Home Sharing from my main computer to the laptop and back. Now after updating to the newest version on all there is no longer the option to download items acoss into the other machine on my home network.
I am looking for a solution or a update to fix this as I like being able to pull items from the home system into my MacBook Pro for travel viewing.Not using anything on my MacBook Pro like Norton. I have replicated the issue on a XP machine, Win 7, and Snowleopard installed Hackintosh (yeah I did bad things to a Dell netbook) and none of them can do the importing like they were able to prior to this new version.
Home Sharing works in that I can see the files but can no lonnger import them like you could before this lateset update. So Norton or the port change has nothing to do with it best of my knowledge. It looks like Apple needs to fix this in a update to iTunes (and fast) . -
Can't sync music after updating to latest version of itunes.
everything syncs but my music after upgrade. songs only show up in icloud and are not synced when i connect my ipod touch to my pc. how can i fix this?
After upgrading to 4.0b5 today, my sound is acting very strange also.
I run my audio out via the headphone jack, and now when FireFox should be playing a sound - suddenly the audio is routed through the computer speakers for a second and then it switches back to the headphones.
Everything is playing through the headphones fine, but when FireFox has audio to play - it routes it through the computer speakers instead and then toggles back over to the headphones.
Note - the FIREFOX sounds do NOT play when this happens, but any audio im playing on the computer other than with FireFox DOES play when it switches back and forth between the computer speakers and the headphone jack.
As others have mentioned I also got that error message after updating that said 'Alert' and something about a process that could not be completed, or something to that effect. I searched the message earlier and it said there was an fix in the works for it already - I hope the fix for whatever that was will fix this funky audio problem. -
After updating to latest version, Firefox won't open
I am running Windows 7. After updating to the latest version, Firefox won't open. I get a notice when I try to open Firefox saying "Couldn't load XPCOM. Is there a way I can undo the update so I can get Firefox to open. It's my favorite browser...I'm having to use another browser to ask my question.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Ovi failed to work after updated to latest version...
Both PC Suite and Ovi were working perfectly until i updated my Ovi to the latest version early this week.
Now, whenever i start Ovi, it will crash after 15-20sec if my 5800 is connected ( either bluetooth or USB ). If the phone is not connected, Ovi will stay without any issue. Btw, PC Suite is working fine.

This is what i did so far :
i) Uninstall Ovi , re-download from Nokia web, reinstall : Failed to fix
ii) Uninstall Ovi and all Nokia related software , clean Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
iii) Format and reinstall Windows 7 ( Yes, I did !!! ) , re-download and reinstall Ovi Suite : Failed to fix
I strongly believe this error is caused by the latest version of Ovi Suite, as i have another laptop which running with the older version of Ovi Suite works perfectly with my 5800.
I have uninstall the Ovi Suite, I will only try it again when next release is available.Just want to share with everyone that after a fresh install of the Ovi Nokia Ovi Suite 2 on Win 7 I got the same error. But then, I gave the suggesion about the proxy a try and viola, it worked just fine.
Nokia company: please take this very seriously as a lot of us use your products to perform business and this should be taken very seriously. Either fix it or put a note for work around.

On checking my add-ons and plugins I attempted to update Java Run Time to latest version as firefox said it was outdated.
I tried installing new version JRE 7.10 manually and through firefox (which said the installation was successful). When testing it, I get told that Java is not working and that a plug in is missing. Can not check whether the new plugin is enabled as JRE has disappeared from the plugins tab (Only Deployment Toolkit appears).
The Java control console says that it was successfully installed in all browsesr. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java 3 times and keep getting the same result. Java is working fine on chrome and IE so problem must be with FF.i have already tried installing the offline version but Java SE7U10 does not show in the add-ons menu and Java doesn't work

Fragmented albums after updating to latest version.
have downloaded latest version of itunes and now a lot of my albums have been split into seperate songs in the playlists.
is there a fix for this or have i got to spend hours changing the get info section,.these albums were all fine on previous version.
any help much appreciated,Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things. For deeper problems see Grouping tracks into albums.
It is possible that the initial column sort selections order may not have migrated properly from the last build, but the overall rules for sorting and grouping things haven't changed. Some orders are album friendly, most aren't, and mixed artists on the same album usually needs a common album artist. There are also settings to Group Compilations and Use Album Artists which alter the behaviour slightly.

Good morning everyone,
Since the most current version of itunes has become available for update, I will periodically get update notices to upgrade my existing version of itunes.
The problem (which, BTW, has never happened before in the 2 - 3 years I've had itunes on my WIN XP Pro SP3 computer)...is the update will proceed normally for about 10 minutes, then a dialog box opens stating that "A network resource needed is unavailable." It also offers the option to look elsewhere for a particular .msi file which it claims it cannot find (at the C:\...\.. link it displays...with a [BROWSE] button beside it.
Does ANYONE have ANY idea just what is happening here and how to resolve this very, increasingly-annoying, issue? As I indicated earlier...this issue has NEVER happened before. ALL previous updates have completed without incident. I have also tried doing updates from other Internet sites with the same unacceptable results.
NOTE: Itunes is ONLY on my WIN XP Pro computer. I have NO Ipad, Ipod, Iphone, etc.

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
After the last Thunderbird update 24.4.0, attachments no longer open. Attempt to open attachment flashes a message quickly but not long enough to read. I get the following errors in the error log with every attempt to open a document like word.
