Cannot launched Adobe reader - either version 9.4 or 10

Hi,
I recieved the error message below when launched the adobe reader version 9.4 or version 10 (Reader X).
Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
I have been googgling for few weeks for the solutions but still doesn't worked. I have tried the following:
1) Repaired the installation
2) Installed the latest version
3) Installed to different path
4) Performed registry cleanup using various cleanup utilities and install again
5) Run as administrator
6) Set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2
I am currently using Windows 7 Professional OS.
This has forced me to use other PDF reader instead of Adobe Reader! Hope anyone here can help to resolve this issue, thanks in advanced!
cheers

How do you launch Adobe Reader - from a shortcut, or by double-clicking on a PDF file?
Does C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe actually exist?
If launching from a shortcut, is the above path and program name in the shortcut* in single quotes ( ' ) or double quotes ( " )?
If from a PDF file, is the above path and program name in the file association** in single quotes ( ' ) or double quotes ( " )?
*) right-click on the shortcut | Properties.  The path and program should be in the 'Shortcut' tab.
**) open Windows Explorer, Tools | Folder Options | tab File Types.  Locate the PDF entry, select it and click 'Advanced'.  On the panel that opens click 'Edit'; you should now see the path and program to open a PDF file.  (This method is from an older Windows version and could be slightly different on Windows 7.)

  • Windows 2008 windows service cannot launch Adobe Reader

I created a windows service that receives pdf files in one folder and should print them opening adobe reader. In my PC with Windows 7 it works just fine but when the application is deployed in Windows 2008 R2 server then the windows service is not able to
    launch Adobe Reader.
I searched on Internet and I found that it might be related to the Session 0 used by the services.
I tried multiple possible solutions without success.
Thank you in advance for any support with this issue

    Hi,
Are there any related error messages logged?

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This happens when trying to open  a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first then the pdf files open as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader with no difference in the outcome.  Since this happens on two different computers one fresh copy of windows 7 x64 the other an upgrade to windows 7 x32 and they used to work before the change to windows 7, I assume there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known issue and will it be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

tvandersluijs - I'm sorry if that screwed up your machine however:
    1. What version of Adobe Reader are you using because as you can see the registry entry is for Adobe Reader 9, if ur using Adobe Reader 8 then u need to specify ur version as PAllens entry suggested - "E.g. "C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\Reader\AcroRd32.exe""
    2. I've used this solution significantly because I have come across this specific issue for multiple users.
    3. All the registry entry does is tell Windows what program to use by default to open/view PDF documents.
My intention wasn't to screw up ur machine or anybody elses as I said I've used this solution many times however what I've should gave is the disclaimer to backup ur registry before u make mods so u can revert back in case. Also the ony other thing I can think of is that this solution was for Windows XP using registry editior 5, I'm noticing that the title of this thread is Windows 7.

  • How do I "Launch" Adobe Reader in order to accept the Terms and Conditions in order to view PDF documents? ....Somers

How do I "Launch" Adobe Reader in order to accept the Terms and Conditions in order to view PDF documents? ....Somers  I'm using a MAC with up to date software.

Launching is just the normal word in Apple's word for "run an app". You can launch an app from the Applications folder, or in recent versions of Mac OS using the LaunchPad (rocket icon). You can't assume all your apps appear on the dock (bottom strip), it's only the ones Apple put there or you added.

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader

I cannot download Adobe reader ... I have tried version 8 and 10 - I get to the 'Run' screen and get a message: Only single instance of this application can run'.  I do not have any other Adobe Reader versions running or loaded on my computer.  I am running Windows XP Version 2002 Service Pack 3 - Please let me know what steps I can take to download any version of Adobe Reader.  Thank you

You may want to try the following.
Remove all traces of Reader (not only the program) from your system using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. This is no longer supported by Microsoft because it can produce problems with Win 7, but you can still download it from from places like
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Then, download the Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    and perform a clean install.

  • I cannot get Adobe Reader 11 to work - what have I done wrong?

I cannot get Adobe Reader 11 to work - what have I done wrong?

    Hi Pat,
I usually don’t have trouble explaining my problems, but this one is confusing the heck out of me.  I just downloaded Reader 11.  It is installed, I believe.  This is the first time Reader has not worked for me after upgrading to a newer version.  I’ve been reading PDF files forever, but tonight when I went to read a pdf file that I received today, I clicked on the file, expecting Reader to open up and it never did.  Then I tried to read some older pdf files and nothing happened when I tried to open the file.  I’ve been using Acrobat Reader for years so that’s why I’m so confused.
I downloaded the file from the adobe.com website. and everything seemed to be fine.  My question is indeed vague, but I don’t know any other way to explain what happened.  Should I uninstall and start over??
    Thanks, Elaine

  • Cannot open adobe reader at all

I cannot open Adobe reader, even the icon on my desktop I mean. I have windows 7 and I could not open PDF file on web either. It will have a full blue bar telling me it is fully downloaded but the actual content never shows up. I tried uninstall and install for more than five times. Anyone could help?

Sorry, it is not quite clear to me if you have Adobe Reader actually installed or not.
I suggest that you uninstall it (again), then try installing with the full installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in web browser error

I have a new computer and have Acrobat Pro installed.  When I try to click on PDF links in browsers, I get an error:
Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in web browser.
I want to be able to open these links using Acrobat Pro.  What can I do in Internet Explorer so I don't always receive these errors, and so pdfs automatically open using Acrobat Pro?
    Steve

Because it was not designed for Windows 7 doesn't mean it cant run.
If you install the applications as administrator, you shouldn't have problems. I have installed both Reader and Pro versions on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit without problems, as long as I did it as administrator. You right click on the setup and select Run as Administrator. You don't need to do it for updates if you go through the update option on the help panel.
