Cannot listen to Pandora or Slacker

I purchased a new 8830 from a vendor on eBay, and downloaded up to date software, got it connected to verizon and everything works, except......when i download any radio station such as Pandora I get a message that says "Attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."
So....all my firewalls are open and I cannot get rid of this.......help please. Everything else works. I am just determined to fix this "little" problem.

It involves backing up your data. Using a special component of AppLoader to totally wipe your BB clean and reload the OS truly from scratch. Then restoring your BB -- but not a wholesale restore; rather, a selective restore so as to not put that policy back onto the device (it's part of the backup) and thereby re-introduce the problem.
Plus, if the first method of cleaning the policy fails for some reason, there's yet another method to try. And, after all of that, there's yet another thing that, if the seller did not do it, you will never be able to use BIS from your carrier. See this:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling, or after buying, a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
If the BB had a BIS account and they didn't do the seller step 1, you will be out of luck...
But, I personally believe you should pound the seller on this...they sold you a device that was not "clean". For the sake of future buyers from that seller, you should not let them get away with that...IMHO.

  • Cannot listen to music

Hello, I am having a problem that I cannot solve. Firstly my blackberry model is 8900 and the version is v 3.2.33 (b3.5).  The problem started when I put on the phone it will write uncaught exception: a browser content provider for video/3gpp MIME type has already been registered with the browser. Once the phone is ready for use I cannot listen to music, I thought it was the memory card so I formatted the memory card but I later realized it wasn't the memory card because when I try to play the ringtone it is always writing unable to play content. Pls I need help

I have Pandora and Slacker Radio installed on my ipod touch. When I touch the icon to open these, it opens for a second and then closes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Purchase/install any new app

  • What is the best way to connect my old 1st generation iPhone to my stereo receiver so I can listen to pandora?

What is the best way to connect my first generation iPhone to my stereo receiver so that I can listen to Pandora through the stereo?

I am hoping someone will answer this question you have asked. I just purchased the iSimple Gateway system and even though it says on the box that it works with the iphone3G when I plug it in to the 30pin connector it says that it does not support. It does work when I plug an iPhone4G . I have to use the headphone jack only with my 3G to listen to Pandora untill I figure out the problem .

  • Supervisor cannot listen to agent

    Hello Guyz,
I am having an issue with UCCX 8 where a supervisor can successfully record an agent but cannot listen the recording.
sound card is good. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    we need more details.
    Like:
    - Does the supervisor desire to listen all calls at once? (Not possible).
    - What is the difference between the PC's and phones of the agent for whom the monitoring works and for those it does not? Like a different network interface card, or something on the CUCM?

  • How do i keep my phone from ringing when listening to pandora?

How do I keep my phone from ringing while listening to pandora? I am a massage therapist and want to use my phone for music but even when it is on silent it rings during session!!

My wife has the same problem. I believe I found the solution. Activate "do not disturb" in settings - do not disturb - manual. Make sure to also go to allow calls from and set it to no one. A moon will appear in the status bar. You will see notifications of missed calls but it does not interrupt Pandora. Let me know if this works for you.

  • HT1349 Can I use headphones to listen to Pandora radio without it being broadcast through the speakers?

I tried to listen to Pandora radio through the headphones,  without music being broadcast through  the speakers.  Have not been able to do this and want to know if it is possible and how to listen this way.

Yes, listening to Pandora through headphones is no different than listing to any other music/audio through headphones.  When you plug them in your speaker should automatically turn off.  Perhaps there is something wrong with your headphone sensor; try blowing on the opening to see if there is dust/debris getting in the way of its operation.  Sometimes plugging and unplugging your headphone jack multiple times will clear it as well.  If the problem persists take your phone to the Apple store and have them take a look at it.  It should still be under warranty.

  • Channel_setup_fwd_listener: cannot listen to port: 1158

I want to access the Enterprise manager through.
    http://<IP Address>:1158/em/
Because of firewall issue i used ssh to create the tunnel.
    But i gives an error.
I do not undestand it very clearly and workaround for that.
    oracle@srv603484:~> ssh -fNL 1158:<IP Address>:1158 oracle@<IP Address>
    Password:
    bind: Address already in use
channel_setup_fwd_listener: cannot listen to port: 1158
    Could not request local forwarding.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

It seems this is a ssh tunnel issue. Try this:
    ssh -f user@<IP Address> -L 1158:<IP Address>:1158 -N

  • Cannot listen to recordings

    Hello,
We just implemented Cisco's Unified Contact Center Express 7.0 and upgraded to Call Manager 7.0.2(a) from Call Mgr. 4.0.
We have 8 workstations with cisco supervisor desktop and all seem to work fine. However, of the 8 there are 2 workstations where we cannot listen to any recordings. They are listed in the Supervisor Record Viewer and when the play button is hit it behaves as if the recording is playing, but there is no sound. We have checked the obvious (speakers plugged in, volume turned up, etc).
I have tried comparing phone settings in Call Mgr., tried uninstalling and reinstalling supervisor desktop and also made those users local admins on their machines. But I cannot get the recordings to play on these 2 workstations. I don't know if the problem is with the workstations themselves or if it is a CCM or IPCC issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I got our batch file to work. Basically it sets the following registry setting and runs the postinstall.exe file.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}\0001]
    "PreserveVlanInfoInRxPacket"="1"
We run into this on all of our Optiplex 320 machines. The NIC that is in them doesn't play nice with monitoring and recording until the PreservVlanInfoInRxPacket is set to 1 in the registry. Give it a shot. Don't forget to run postinstall.exe again.

  • Cannot listen to Voicemails

Running iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) on an iPhone 5.
When Voicemails come in, they appear in the visual voicemail list, but show 0:00 as the lenght, and I cannot listen to them. If I restart, they appear with the correct length and I can therefore hear the message.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Howdy Jonathan Hoch,
It sounds like you are unable to listen to your voicemail on the phone. I want to recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    iPhone: Troubleshooting voicemail
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4430
    Restart your iPhone.
Check for a carrier settings update.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that your voice mailbox is set up properly. You can verify this by dialing your phone number from your iPhone.
Make sure that you have a good cellular network connection. You can verify this by seeing whether you can make an outgoing call.
Call your iPhone from another phone and attempt to leave yourself a voicemail.
Reset your network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Contact your carrier and ensure your iPhone is properly configured with the voicemail feature on your plan.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Updated player and now cannot listen to internet radio stations - why ?

Updated to 14.0.0.145 the other day and now cannot listen to internet radio stations that worked fine before updating ( WABC , WMAL , KSFO ) . Programs won't download . WMAL's podcast does work , though . No trouble with Youtube , etc...
    I have Windows 7 and IE 10 .
    Can anybody help ?
    Thanks in advance .

Each updated version of Flash Player includes important security updates.  You really want to be running the latest version of Flash Player.
I'm also able to play these streams with no problem.  Have you rebooted since you upgraded?  It's always a good first step for mysterious problems.
If that doesn't work, I'd Uninstall Flash Player | Windows and then do a fresh install from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer before considering downgrading.  That's an unwise course of action.
