Cannot load after change of computer

Hi.
I moved overseas recently and took the opportunity to buy a
laptop (macBook Pro) to replace my desktop that cost to much to
move.
I backed up everything so I could transfer it all over to my
new laptop. That included my Dreamweaver 8 for Macs and my
Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I have transferred all my applications over
and ALL work except for these two.
I left the orriginal disc at home but have my passwords. I
get an error messsage saying "Please reinstall your software; A
problem was detected with your application. Please reinstall this
software to correct the problem".
I am a genuine buyer, and my disc is half the world a way in
storage. Am I stuck or can I simply configure my preferences or
library so that I can use the software?
Appreciate any help given.

How did you "transfer it all over to my new laptop" ???
I don't know about Mac, but in the Windoze world you can't
just copy program folders and have anything work... you need to
install from the disc so the correct entries are made in the
Registry file

When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.

Folio Builder - cannot login after changing password

Hi all,
I changed my password at acrobat.com, now I cannot login with the new password from the Folio Builder panel in InDesign CS5.5. I'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8. Basically, the panel shows "Signing in..." and the endlessly spinning wheel, which means it's hanging and doesn't let me re-enter my login credentials.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Folio Builder and Overlay Creator tools, and am running the latest versions of each.I've also tried trashing the INDD preferences. No luck. I'd like to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling InDesign CS5.5, but if that's the only solution, I'll do it.
I did create a new user on my machine and that worked — I was able to login successfully with my new login credentials. But moving my production files and recreating all my settings from my account to this new one would take a while, so I wanted to see if there was another solution.

Yes, I can login successfully there. The problem also appears to be with the CS Review and Access CS Live panels in InDesign.
When I initially open the Folio Builder, I get the error dialog "Sign In had failed. [svr.InvalidLogin]". The CS Review and Access CS Live panels also report an internal error.
This happens in both InDesign CS5 and CS5.5 (both installed on the same computer). Could the CS5.5 and CS5 panels be sharing that info? I haven't uninstalled/reinstalled the panels from CS5, just from CS5.5, which might explain the error, if I need to also uninstall the CS5 panels/extensions.

High processor load after changing Metadata Rating on several photos

Hi,
I have marked about 100 Photos (Nikon RAW) which are in a selection, these have all 5 star rating, then I select 4 star rating for all selected.
After this I get high processor load for about 2 to 3 minutes.
What's goning on, does Aperture need soo many resources for just changing the rating in the Metadata in the Database?

Cannot start after change sata mode

I have a probook 4510s i try to install win Xp instead of opensuse. Before installing XP, i change a SATA mode from AHCI to IDE. XP was installed ok but when i try to switch back from IDE to AHCI, my laptoop freeze and got black screen. Now when i start a laptop, nothing happens only a HDD led indicator blink. Can enybody help me?? thanks

You have to install the SATA ACHI drivers for the notebook which is why that happened. Switch it back to IDE mode for now and then follow the procedures below to get it to work in ACHI mode:
Download and install the chipset driver first:

I could only find two of the files the manual said to copy to a flash drive. So, you can download this utility from Intel which will automatically create a floppy disk with the required files and follow the instructions on Page 12-19 of the below link:

After you do this you should be able to change your BIOS setting back to ACHI.

When you installed that card in your new computer did you install NI-DAQ? If so, did you install LabVIEW support for NI-DAQ? It sounds like the LabVIEW support may not be installed. The best way to find out is in LabVIEW to check and see if you have the data acquisition palette. It sounds like it might be missing. If that is the case, modify your installation of NI-DAQ to include support for LabVIEW.

Taking you are on Windows; history, reports and snippets are stored under your Documents and Settings in the .sqldeveloper folder. Just copy from one to the other.

Cannot load firefox on this computer

I unistalled Chrome and tried to install Firefox but when I hit run, it appears to install but when I look at programs, it is not there nor is the icon.

hello Money2ski, could you specify how far the installation process is actually going - is the setup wizard (pictured in step 4 at [[Install Firefox on Windows]]) showing up?
some general troubleshooting advice for installing firefox: one thing you can always try is to right-click the setup file and run it as administrator. in case this doesn't work either try temporarily suspending the security programs you're using. in some cases it can also be malware active on a pc that is preventing the installation of firefox - please also do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes].

Alain Picard this error often occurs due to incorrect file permissions or corruption of licensing data during the Time Machine restore. What version of Photoshop Elements were you using? I would recommend that you remove and reinstall it using the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.

Named instance cannot be accessed from another computer after IP address changed

In our SQL server computer, we are using dynamic IP. There are two instances; one of them is a named instance.
We can access both instances.
However, after changing the SQL server computer to static ip, we cannot access the named instance from another computer (the non-named instance is ok). Any idea what to do to make the named instance accessible? After the ip address changed, I
only did a ipconfig /renew without rebooting the computer, would rebooting solve it?
Since I only have limited amount of time to take the production server offline and since I do not know enough about this, I ask to see if any one has any idea.

Please try to restart SQL Server service instead using SQL Server Configuration Manager.

I believe these are the wrong system restore discs for your model iMac, assuming your are correct that you have mid 2007 iMac.
These gray colored type restore discs are Mac-machine specific and are the wrong ones for your iMac.
They will not work.
The original OS X restore discs for your model iMac would either install OS X 10.4.11 Tiger or OS X 10.5 Leopard.
You have gray system restore discs for a later model iMac. These will not work with iMac year and model.
Sorry.
You need to purchase a full retail version of OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard here instead.

These discs will work with your year and model iMac.
Assuming that your hard drive was installed properly, these white retail OS X install discs should be able to boot, format and install OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to your 2007 iMac.

I recently built a new computer, and I cannot load any google affiliated sites on it.

Ok this is really weird, I build a new computer and everything else on it works, BUT I cannot load most google site and a bunch of other random sites.
I can load this website, twitter, my hotmail, pretty much everything else.
I can load google searches, but not any of the sites that is redirects to.
no youtube.
I have already turned off proxies, cleared cache, cookies, cleared all history, rebooted multiple times, tried it in IE, tried it in Safe Mode.
It is not my internet, because I can load the sites on my phone and old computer fine.
It gives me the error message "connection to server was reset while the page was loading"
What is going on?!

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
