Cannot load certain artist unless I ren

Windows XP SP3: Media Player
My son is having a problem whereby he cannot load songs by certain artists (in his case kings of leon, manic street preachers, oasis). But if he renames them they will load ok. I am assuming this not to be a DRM issue (otherwise DRM would be a bit pointless if it was that easy to bypass).
Ideas anyone?

Edit: It's the ARTIST name that he just needs to change to make it work.

Surely if the location is wrong then no album would work.
With certain artists, WMP will report ERROR in the status column, when you perform a Sync.
With some other artists, it displays STOPPED.
In either case - rename the artist, to something George W Bush it will then sync.
But, and here's the puzzling bit, most artists work fine.

I've noticed I cannot load 2 specific websites through Firefox: www.bankofinternet.com and www.quiksilver.com
these sites will not load in any other browser on my computer as well. I've tried loading the pages directly & through google search. I've tried deleting cookies and history and cache, restarting computer.
all other webpages open.

Does it work via Google Translate with a random source language?

Cannot Load Certain Pages in Safari 2.0.1

I cant load certain pages all of a sudden. cbnews.com, apple quicktime page is missing images, amazon.com etc. when I open window->activity I always see one item that cant finish loading. In the case of cbsnews.com I saw about:blank was the item it could not load.
This is a browser hijack that I suffered in Windows and one of the reasons I switched to Mac OS X. But it seems to be hanging Safari and not able to hijack it.
Does anyone know if this is accurate?
Is cbsnews.com infected?
What about the other images that cant be loaded on other sites?

on my home machine safari 2.0.1 is working great BUT on my work machine i'm having a ton of problems loading certain sites.
I can't load http://www.maccentral.com , http://www.versiontracker.com and http://www.apple.com/startpage/ (there are others).....
the only way i can get those sites to load is by turning off javascript by unchecking the 'enable javascript' in safari's preferences.

As administrator, I cannot edit certain files unless I add read/write/etc. for the Users group.

I'm administering a Subversion server running on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I need to add access to SVN repositories, I need to edit a svnaccess.txt file. This file sits under C:\Program Files(x86)\CollabNet\Subversion Server. When I
attempt to edit the file, though, I cannot save it unless I save it to a new file.
My account is part of the local administrators group. All of the folders and subfolders in the path have Full Control enabled for Administrators. The file itself also has Full Control enabled for Administrators. Yet, the only way I can
edit this file is to add Modify and Write permissions to the local Users group even though my account is only part of the local administrators group.
What's odd too, is that if I can edit these permissions I must have the appropriate administrator privileges.
I searched for this a while back and recall seeing a hotfix for this as it was a known bug in Windows Server 2008, however, I cannot for the life of me find this link anymore nor do I see a fix like this on the hotfix spreadsheet. I need to locate
the hotfix that corrects this to provide to our system admins. For some reason, they will only install hotfixes if a problem is identified.
If anyone knows of the hotfix that corrects this issue, please let me know! :)

As you said, if a user account belong to local Administrators account, when only Administrators group has permission on a folder, all admins except Administrator account will not have permission to access it.
This is caused by UAC. All accounts in local Administrators group are actually working as standard accounts. When an Administrator action need to be performed, a prompt will occurs for permission to promote to admin permission. As only Administartors group
has permission on a folder and the account we are using is working like a standard account, we will be denied from accessing.
A workaround is to create a new group for all admins and give the group enough permission for accessing the target folder.
Or you could run all accounts in Administartors group in Admin mode. See this article:

Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

Hey everybody,
I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
www.weffriddles.com
www.macrumors.com
images.google.com
sports.yahoo.com
finance.yahoo.com
to list a few.
If you need any diagnostic information, please let me know.

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.

Dear FireFox supporters .
First of all, I would like to apologize for my bad english, it is not my nativ language.
I have FF22 on Windows 7 .
I don't know what happen but Suddenly some site couldn't be on opened , For example i can open Youtube & Google translate but Can't open Gmail or Facebook and several other sites .
I've tried the next steps :
*Reset firefox
*Use on safe mode
*Reinstall (uninstalled + delet folder on program files + install from scratch) (saved the personal data)
*Disables proxy
*Disabled all my extensions
*Deleted all my cookies & history ( and checked to allow receive ones)
*Checked my java settings
*Turend windows firewall off
*Run an updated antivirus scan 02.07.13 AVG free edition (found nothing)
*Download & scaned my computer with Malwarebytes . (although it find 9 objects it doesn't seems to matter .. )
Non of this Worked ! there is no problems when i working on chrome , but i love my FF & dont want to switch.
I'm Frustrated , already spent hours trying to repair it .

Hello kadur778, if you cannot open websites that needs login (username and password) like Gmail or Facebook then delete the cookies.sqlite file and any cookies.sqlite-journal files in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Windows profile folder] and restart firefox.

Why can't Firefox cannot load certain applications on certain sites like a whole chatroom, video player or the reply box on a forum?

When I was ask to join this site ( the mozilla support site), firefox was unable to display the register or log in page, all i saw was the page getting darker and an unmoving white rectangle.
Also when I got certain site to watch a video like animefreak.com the video player will never appear, I have to use internet explorer to watch it.
There are some sites where the chatroom simply doesn't appear and others where I can't even use the reply box in the forum

Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

I cannot load certain pages using FireFox i could days ago. Pages load fine IE.

I use google doc to link me to pages/spreadsheets for work, and i was accessing everything fine till 5 days ago. Now i am being redirected. I get a glimpse of the page/spreadsheet then it begins to redirect me with a blank screen. Disabled Java Add ons that were updated but this did not fix the issue. Attempted to view the pages in Internet Explorer and they loaded just fine. Co Workers are not having the same issue.

Already tried that before. I don't even have any software firewall currently active, and the hardware firewall in my router does not block individual applications. It blocks ports instead, by IP address. My Avast AV software does not have anything that blocks applications either, since there is no firewall aspect to it, just the anti-virus software. Likewise, my Spybot S&D has no blocking capability either.
I followed all the steps in the article titled "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can" when I tried installing v24 and v25 last night, which included the steps from the article you posted above with regards to firewalls, as well as changing proxy settings, disabling IPv6 and DNS Prefetching, and resetting Firefox defaults from the troubleshooting page, which blew out all my settings, and still nothing.
I had tried all the steps I could find on these pages, which is why I thought I would post my issue, since I had run out of ideas. I even took a look at the info about the issue some people are getting where it works for them only if they are moving their mouse, but even moving my mouse didn't get any results for me.

Suddenly cannot load certain logic projects

Hello all,
Just found today after being able to open it just yesterday, that a current project im working wont load, no error messages either, it gets half way after checking all plugins etc then... nothing, it just quits. This is true also with another recent project, but however, not with all the other projects i have which are slightly older - still though they were all created with my current set up which hasn't changed -
logic Pro 8.0, macbook pro 2.4 GHz, 10.4.8, 4 GHz SDRAM, Edirol UA-25 & around 30G left on my hard drive..
Found that when i hold down ctr when opening i can in fact access the project when i de-activated core audio, but with no plugins or audio playback - then when i re-activate core audio, it quits.
I have tried all the obvious - re-installed logic, booted logic with all peripherals disconnected etc..
Hmm..
Something to do with the RAM ? - i read a suggestion somewhere that maybe the RAM was causing such an issue ?
Core audio obviously plays a part... but im sure thats quite a broad subject matter ( i know very little about how it all works really, as you can prob tell! )
Anyone heard of this problem before ?
Any pointers would be great, until then i shall dwell on the prospect of loosing my best EVER tracks ... (the new ones always are 10 times better than the last.. prob not true but frustratingly they always are in my head :o) anyhow, i digress...

Looking at your specs I see two obvious actions: upgrading Tiger to .11 and upgrading Logic to .0.2.
You could also try deleting any audio and Logic related preferences in the Library/Preferences folder:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
...and in the Users/'you'/Library/Preferences folder:
/Users/'you'/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist
/Users/'you'/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs
/Users/'you'/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.plist
If you have custom key commands, export them before deleting Logics' prefs.
Keep in mind however that the songs may be corrupted, in which case nothing but rebuilding them (copying all regions, tracks, channel strip and track settings into a fresh project) will do the trick.
If all this doesn't help, consider reinstalling Tiger (using 'archive and install') AND upgrading to .11 in the process.

Web browsers cannot load certain websites.

There are certain websites I am never able to access from my computer. I've tried to access these sites using Safari (5.1), Firefox, and Google Chrome, and I always get a message stating (at least in Safari) "Safari can't open the page xxxxx.com because the server where this page is located isn't responding." My girlfriend runs off of the same Airport as I do, and I can access these sites from her computer. Any idea what's wrong with my computer, since it doesn't appear to be either a browser or ISP issue?

Cannot load certain websites

Hey all. This is the first time I have ever experienced this problem. As of today I can't load Facebook and a couple other sites. One minute it was working fine, the next I was kicked off. I waited awhile and was able to get back onto FB only to be kicked off again 20 minutes later. Most of my other websites have no problem loading with the exception of FB and a couple others. My internet connection is fine, checked and updated all plug ins(although even though I updated the latest adobe reader firefox keeps saying it needs updating?), cleared cache, changed to no proxy. No new updated to either my antivirus or malware(ran full scans) I'm not a techie so I don't know the advanced things that you can do... IE will not open FB either.Very frustrating! I know these sites aren't down because I can access from my phone. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
