Hi
I started boot camp to install windows 7 and the installation failed and it keep restarting with the same problem and I have no idea what the problem with the windows installation is!
Now I can't seem to load the Mac OS. Please help.

Make sure you go through and read the pdf guide, about 30 pages.
Apple error messages are never helpful when it comes to Boot Camp, at least Windows does actually. And you may want to notice what, why, as they are not normal. And include more than symptomatic behavior and include Mac hardware configurations.
Having iMac with SSD and hard drive can make a lot of difference.

I have recently installed ubuntu linux on my mac mini without partitioning the hard drive. During installation when linux asked me where to install it, I gave it the option of choosing the biggest continuous free space. Everything went on smoothly & linux got installed. Now during startup it does not give me an option of choosing my os for bootup & directly boots into linux. I even dont know where my mac os resides on the hard disk. I tried posting my questions on the ubuntu linux forums but they are not able to help me out. Please help. Is there any way to force mac os x to boot instead of linux? I tried booting by my mac os x installer dvd by pressing option while startup & reinstalling the os but it gets stuck to the screen where it asks me in which hard drive to install the os as the hard drive does not show up during installation. please can anyone help me out.

I had the same booting problem,the mac os x installer dvd also got stuck on the same screen as yours.I then connected an external DVD drive (with the installer dvd) to the usb port and restarted my mini while pressing option as in the normal procedure and strangely enough the system booted from the DVD without any problem.All this happened also yesterday (Apr 19) and I haven't turned off my mac since, still have to find the initial problem, so I don't know yet what the system will do on the next restart.I hope you are still able to eject your installer DVD from the mini, mine wouldn't, so I had to open my mac and retract it manually by unscrewing the top of the combo drive.If you have to do this check out"http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2005/01/macminiinside/index.php" on how to open your mini - a bit tricky, but do-able.

The first problem windows 7-8.1 got IP adress and connect he public HotSpot but cannot load login page or any other page. It does not work with it.

For changing the MAC address for Windows 7 is designed with some limitation, we cannot get over it. Thanks for your understanding.
Under Windows 7, the possible range of spoofed addresses for wireless adapters that can be set is limited. To be used by Windows 7, a spoofed MAC address should have 0 as a least significant bit (unicast) and 1 as a second least significant
bit (locally administered) in the second nibble. Thus possible values for the second nibble are limited to 2, 6, A and E.
In other words
MAC address: “XY-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX” “X” can be anything hexadecimal. The hexadecimal “Y”, written in binary format, is Y: “kmnp”, where “p” is the least significant bit;
p=0 --> unicast;
p=1 --> multicast;
n=0 --> globally assigned MAC;
n=1 --> locally administered;
So, actually MAC can be changed to any combination in which p=0 and n=1;
“Y” can be 2, 6, A or E.
So the possible MAC addresses in Windows 7 for wireless adapters:

i am using leopard 10.5.4.my users have a default windows profile path at /Server HD/Users/Profiles/username.when i login from windows clients some users cannot load the profile.the following error is displayed in windows clients

Roaming profiles via Mac OSX Server are different from Roaming Profiles via Windows Server.
Some things you must do, to keep the profiles syncing... First understanding that an database (db) files will create issues. Windows does not do a good job of releasing / unlocking the files. This will show up in Thumbs.db and newly created Favorites located within the profile.
1. Disable thumbnail caching on the windows clients.
2. Disable web client services (optional).
3. Move any db,s (like ACT 2008) out of the profile.
3. Move Favorites out to the profile (we use teakUI to relocate it to c://)
On boot, the error that a roaming profile can't load, will also present (about 20 seconds) the path of the bad file.

Is there any restriction on Mac OS X 10.6/10.7 that binaries running from root directories like /usr/libexec/ cannot load dylib's at run-time using dlopen() or NSAddImage()?
I am trying to run a binary like "sample" from a directory inside /usr/libexec/ which tries to load a dylib like "sample.dylib" which is present in the same directory as "sample".
It resulted in a segmentation fault with the following error and stack-trace.
Program received signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS, Could not access memory.
Reason: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at address: 0x0000000000003430

Using gdb, I could find out that the program crashed inside dlopen() (the path passed to dlopen() being a simple filename like "sample.dylib").
The dlopen() at the top of the stack-trace pasted below gets called around 10 times; it does not crash during this 2nd level dlopen() any-time.

After this 2nd level dlopen() gets called 10-15 times, the stack will unwind from map_images_nolock () till __dyld_dlopen (). But when it tries to finish all the instructions inside __dyld_dlopen () and step out of it, the program crashes with the EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal.
Please find below the final stack-traces obtained during debugging when I put breakpoints for AAA() and dlopen() and went on stepping inside till the program crashed.

To summarise:
For some reason, a user wants to install a product and its binaries under /usr/libexec/.
This binary tries to dynamically load a dylib using dlopen("sample.dylib", RTLD_LAZY | RTLD_LOCAL).
It looks like, the dynamic linker then opens dependent dylibs and runs module initialisers. Then crashes when returning (which sounds like a trashed stack).
Can anyone please tell me whether there is some OS-imposed restriction or OS bug which can explain this type of behaviour?
(Note: The crash does not occur if the binary and dylib are installed under a normal user's home directory and run from there.)

Cannot load the Scrabble app for Facebook on my Mac; it starts, then I get this error message:
"FACEBOOK IS NOT RESPONDING. Facebook is taking longer than usual to respond. If this problem persists, refresh your browser or try again later."
I used this app for a few weeks on this machine, but now no amount of time and no number of refreshes will get the page to load. My ancient PC with Windows XP loads the app just fine, however - any ideas?

Ok, I have skimmed through the threads here and the FAQ and still am having troubles. I amt trying to connect a MacbookPro to this wireless router. I have had it connected before which adds to my frustration. I ran all the system diagnostics and come to a point where it says, "This device has an internet connect but cannot load __________. Make sure you have the address typed in correctly." My MAC picks up the router signal, but in the diagnostics it goes as follows. AirPort - Yes Airport Settings - Yes Network Settings - Yes ISP - Yes Internet - No Server - No Please, any help is very appreciated.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.

I need help with imac g4 flat panel download of leopard it tells me it cannot load on the system.

i bought a refurbished imac g4 flat panel. it is supposed to have an os but it only comes up with a question mark. I put leopard in and it tells me it cannot load on this compuert. system is 800mhz and 60g hd and 768ram. i have tried to do a fix through the utility and it says it does not exit and kicks me out. ANY HELP IS A PLUS.

Try holding down the option key then power on. This brings up the startup manager. Click on your hd. Click on right arrow key.
Sometimes if volumes don't appear in Startup Manager (what you get when you hold down the Option key at startup), you need to reset the Mac's PRAM, NVRAM, and Open Firmware. Shut down the Mac, then power it up, and before the screen lights up, quickly hold down the Command, Option, P, and R keys, until the Mac has chimed twice more after the powerup chime. Then, before the screen lights up, hold down Command-Option-O-F until the Open Firmware screen appears. Then enter these lines, pressing Return after each one:

set-defaults
reset-all

You have got get in open firmware to hack the mhz to be higher for the install. That is change what the machine reports as the mhz to be a higher number. Details:

I tend to think dashboard is neat, but not neccesary for my everyday workflow.
it is possible to enable and disable it as needed,
by entering the following commands into the terminal:
-- To turn Dashboard off:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
-- To turn Dashboard on:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
-- You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:
killall Dock

Mac Mini - Cannot install Mac OS X on this computer

I have recieved a Mac Mini from a family member as a gift - I believe it's an old 2010 model or so running 2.66 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 1TB (2 500gb) HDD.
I'm 99% sure the disc I'm using is the computers orginal disc.
I have gone about reformatting the computer like I have done with all my macs previously, however when I select a language when booting from disk, I will get the pop up error "Cannot install Mac OS X on this computer". I have tried wiping both hard drives, partitioning both hard drives but to no avail.
Help is much appreciated.

I have tried downloading firefox, everything seems fine, and than the same message appears. No matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I am a long time user of firefox, so this is driving me nuts.
