Cannot load shared library from Java on AIX

I am working on a 64-bit AIX5.2 machine. I created a hello world program using JNI. When I run it, System.loadLibrary() does not find my shared library. After looking into it for several hours, I realized it might be something to do with my 32 bit mode build. The reason I am building as 32 bit is because I thought it would work on both 32 and 64 bit platforms.
This is how I compile my C++ file and build the shared library:
xlC_r -brtl -q32 -c -I"." -I"/usr/java5_64/include" -c NativeHello.cpp -o NativeHello.o
xlC_r -brtl -G -q32 -o libNativeHello.so NativeHello.o
When I run my HelloWorld java program, it gives this error:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: NativeHello (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)
However, when I change the build lines to use -q64 instead of -q32, my hello world program works just fine.
So I am suspecting that Java is not expecting my shared library that was compiled as 32 bit.
How can I correct this problem? Is there any flag that I might be missing? Or do I need to build separate libraries for 32 bit and 64 bit environment?
Thanks for your help in advance.

This is not a java problem.
It is a VM problem.
So for the VM (vendor and version) that you are using it requires certain things.
It might be that the VM doesn't load 32 at all. Or that you have to do something different when you compile it.
A forum that is specific to your VM might be more productive (this site tends to be strongly solaris/linux/windows.)

    Hello Ferhan,
    the output of the AboutBox is indicating that you are trying to run SAP GUI for Java on Solaris 10 with x86 CPU. Unfortunately, the library required to be loaded is complied for SPARC. Please have a look at the system requirements part of the manual coming with the installer of SAP GUI for Java or [note 959236|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/959236].

    You cannot backup photos to iCloud.
    You can enable Photo Stream (in Settings > iCloud) but only for 30 days and only a max of 1000 photos.
    Then what does this mean? It was copied from the kb article that I posted above.
    Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
    If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
    On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
    Tap iCloud.
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
    In the Backups section, tap your device.
    In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
    To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage.

  • Failed to load shared library

    I am getting a "Failed to load shared library myDLL.dll:myFunction:C on RT Target Device" error when attempting to deploy a VI which contains a call to myDLL on a RT PXI.  If I open the VI with the Call Library Function Node and simply reselect myDLL within the Library name or Path box and save the VI, it will then deploy without error.  This continues to work until I start changing the VI at which point I attempt to deploy the VI again and get the failed to load error.  Once again I open the VI, reselect myDLL, save, and the failed to deploy error goes away.
    Does anyone have any ideas about whats going on here?
    Thanks in advance
    Kevin C.

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for responding.  I am running LabVIEW 8.5 and running on an 8106 Embedded Controller.  Unfortunately, I cannot post my DLL however, I did some troubleshooting and found that the issue seems to be that myDLL calls another one of my DLLs which doesn't seem to be loaded onto the RT box.  If I deploy and run a VI which calls this second DLL and then run my original VI, it deploys without issue.  I guess I can understand why it didn't work in first place, since the 2nd DLL is not called from any VI and only called from myDLL, however I don't understand why simply opening the VI which contains the call to myDLL and reselecting it fixes the problem.  Also I have run the DLL thru the 8.5 DLL checker and it says that the DLL is OK, in fact the DLL checker new that myDLL had a dependency on the second DLL.  Is there something that I can do other than pre-deploy the second DLL to the RT box to get around this issue?
    Thanks again,

  • Libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot load shared object file:

    Greetings,
    I've just downloaded and installed Pervasive's jdbc driver and j2re-1_4_0-fcs-linux-i386.rpm, but when I try to run java:
    [admin@samba-two admin]$ /usr/java/j2re1.4.0/bin/java
    Error: failed /usr/java/j2re1.4.0/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so, because libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory
    How can I fix this?

    Just had this problem in Mandrake 9.0 with jsdk1.4.1, Same as RedHat 8.0 and 7.x.
    On the RPMS section of Disc 1 (I imagine the same for Red Hat) look for the RPM libstdc++2.x.y.rpm (I am not sure what xyz are, the 2 is the key) The other libstdc++5.x.y.z.rpm's are already installed.
    Install this RPM and it installs the proper libraries. (as root)
    rpm -iv libstdc++2.x.y.rpm In fact Forte4 doesn't even even boot as it uses this lib for the splash screen.
    Netscape 7 also needs this library.

  • RealTime - Failed to load shared library

    Hi everyone,
    I'm working with the cRIO 9074 system and programmed a ANC application with LabView. Yesterday I tested my application the first time but it didn't work as expected. Because of my testing- and developing-place are different I have to carry the cRIO-System and my laptop between them. So I just disconneted the powersupply and the networkcable. Then 10min later I tried testing again but I got an error. Today in the morning I got the same error like yesterday, which is the following one:
    "Failed to load shared library AdaptivFilter. Ensure that the library is present on the RT target. Use MAX [...]"
    I reinstalled the NI software (more than once) how I was adviced with MAX but it didn't fix the problem, maybe the AdaptivFilters-library was not included.
    In the project-explorer a library called "NI_AdaptivFilter.lvlib" is included and I also found the path of the file on my harddrive.
    It drives my nuts that it worked and than 10min later it doesn't.
    I hope you could help me, thanks.

  • Verify installation of MS C Runtime Library - Cannot load JNI library

    Hello,
    I´am working on a MS XP frontend on customer side and have no admin rights, installed is  SAPGUI for Java 7.10rev4 with sun java version 1.5.0_11

    However, if I try to use the JAVA Gui I found in the trace file the following error:

    In an old posted message I found the information that the reason should be that the MS C Runtime Library is not installed.
    - Is there a simple way to check if the vcredist_x86.msi is installed in a correct and completed way?
    - Any other ideas about the error "Cannot load JNI library" on a windows XP system?

  • Servicegen:  unable to load type library from classloader weblogic.utils.cl

    Hi,
    I am new to weblogic. I am encountering an error on trying to run the 'servicegen' command from my ant build scripts, on weblogic 9.2.
    Please find the build.xml snapshot, and the stack trace given below.
    Please help me out with this.
    Points to be noted are:-
    1) The ejb-jar.xml specifies the bean class, which is very much present in the classpath. The ejb-jar.xml is generated by xdoclet. Snapshot is given below:-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    </session>
    </enterprise-beans>
    </ejb-jar>
    2) When I replace the "ejbJar" attribute in the 'service' command with "javaClassComponents" attribute, I am able to run the servicegen command successfully. Not sure why the ejbJar is creating problems.
    3) Build.xml snapshot:-

  • Error while creating database - Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll'

    Hi all,
    I am newbie to Timesten imdb (in memory database). I do not wish to use oracle rdbms.
    I have installed the Timesten IMDB on Win2003.
    E:\TimesTen\tt70_32\bin>ttVersion.exe
    TimesTen Release 7.0.5.0.0 (32 bit NT) (tt70_32:17000) 2008-04-05T00:54:16Z
    Instance admin: m4sadm
    Instance home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32
    Daemon home directory: e:\TimesTen\tt70_32\srv\info
    While installing, I followed the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_install_win_viewlet_swf.html]
    Now, I am planning to create a database, and so following the viewlet at: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/viewlets/tt70_create_db_win_cc_viewlet_swf.html]
    However, when I give the command (according to the viewlet), I get the following error:
    Command> select * from v$version;
    5102: Cannot load backend library 'oci.dll' for Cache Connect. OS error message '<empty>'.
    The command failed.
    Can anyone provide pointers to resolve this?

    I'm guessing you chose No to the install question about using Cache Connect to Oracle? This would cause certain libraries not to be installed at install time, specifically libraries that would enable you to use TimesTen Cache Connect to cache data from Oracle tables.
    The table "v$version" that you use in your select
    select * from v$version
    only exists on an Oracle RDBMS. It doesn't exist on TimesTen. Moreover the second viewlet you refer to is about using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature to cache tables from Oracle RDBMS. If you're not interested in using Oracle RDBMS, as you say, it would be my assumption that you're also not interested in using the TimesTen Cache Connect feature? So I'm a little confused here about your intentions. Are you interested in using TimesTen as a standalone datastore, or do you want to use it to cache data from tables located in an Oracle RDBMS?
    Thanks.

  • JRE 1.4.0 on RedHat7.1. - error... failed... cannot load shared object file

    I just installed JRE 1.4, but it doesn't work:
    failed /usr/java/j2re1.4.0/lib/i386/client/libjvm.co, because libstdc++-libc6.1.1.so.2: cannot load shared object file: no such file or directory
    When i check:
    ls /lib/libc-*
    /lib/libc/libc-2.2.2.so
    What files should I install to get it work?
    Thank you.

    The best way to explain this problem is JRE 1.4.0 is execting an old shared object for libstdc which had been updated in Redhat 7.2. Since, the functionality in libstdc should still exist in the newer version of libstc I simply made a symbolic link pointing to the current version of libstdc to satisfy JRE 1.4.0.
    ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2Hope this helps.

    what BIA version are you on?
    perhaps you have to install a informatica fix or a DAC patch

  • HT5922 Volume control Itunes Shared Library from Macbook air played through iPad

    Hi everyone,
    I am using iPad Air to airplay through use of iTunes shared library from Macbook, to Play to my Apple TV using the Remote App from apple on the iPad.
    I noticed that the swipe up control screen volume control does not affect the volume on my speakers of the Denon which is perfectly connected with apple tv. The only thing which controls the volume is the Denon volume control.
    The iTunes  volume control on the Macbook also do not work with Apple TV when airplaying
    I assume this is because of the Denon Reciever, but would like to hear if others who are connecting directly without a multimedia amplifier and speakers are also unable to raise volume using itunes control or not?
    Thans in advance for any feedback given.

    When I try to play a song though it just starts skipping to the next song and then the next one.  Unless there was a song local on the machine it just keeps skipping to the next and to the next.
    I think this may be a clue to the problem. When you purchased the MBA did you restore any of your personal data from a prior backup? In particular, did you restore any prior data in the Music folder?
    Or, did you simply launch iTunes and enable iTunes Match?

  • Cannot load a library unit database_object ( referenced by package name )

    Dear Friends,
    I am using Plls in Reports 6i. In One of the Pll I am Using
    Backend Table in package body. I have two 8i instances. when I
    comiple and save and close this plls with one instance( say
    instance "A" ), its fine. it is done sucessfully. Now i am
    connecting to other instance ( say instance "B" ) and open that
    same pll. it is showing compilation error "Cannot load a library
    unit <my_table> ( referenced by <package name> )". Now I compile
    and save and close with instance "B". it is done sucessfully.
    Again I am connecting to Instance "A" and open that same PLL. It
    is showing same Error "Cannot load a library unit <my_table> (
    referenced by <package name> )"
    Anybody can tell me , How to get rid of this Problem. I dont
    know its a BUG or somthing else.
    I am using Window2000 as OS.
    Thanks

    If a Schema has some objects in it, then you cannot drop that Schema until you remove all the objects out of it. You can change the schema owner
    to another database principal and drop the user like,
    Alter Authorization ON Schema::username TO DBO; Drop User username;
    other option would be
    Transfer the username schema objects to a different schema and drop username schema and user like.
    Alter Schema DBO Transfer Username.[OBEJECTNAME] ;
    --need to repeat this until you transfer all objects under this schema
    Drop Schema username;
    Drop User username;

  • CRIO Fails to Load Shared Library

    All,
    I'm getting an odd error every other time I tried to load my code onto a cRIO in the dev environment.
    Deploying NI_AALPro.lvlib:Linear Fit (LS).viNI_AALPro.lvlib:Linear Fit (LS).vi loaded with errors on the target and was closed.
    LabVIEW:  Failed to load shared library lvanlys.*:LinFit_head:C on RT target device.
    This VI works the first time, and then fails to run the second time you hit run.
    If I reboot the device this corrects the problem, but I have to say this bug costs me quite a lot of time.

    xkenneth,
    Did that solve your problem? If so, is it reproducible with a small project?
