Cannot Load Webpages when connected thru router, works fine without router
I just purchased an imac (intel duo) and have not been able to surf the web when it is connected to my Cable Modem thru a Linksys Wired Router. All the WinXP systems on the same network (wired or wireless) have no problems. I can get the dashboard widgets and do ping/trace/etc when connected thru the router. The problem is that web pages are very slow to load, if at all. Most pages, including apple.com, partially load and then freeze Safari. Turning off the imac firewall in systems preferences or clearing Safari cache made no difference. When I connect the imac to the cable modem directly, with imac firewall on and locked down, I have no problem surfing or accessing features such as the Itunes store. Any guidance would be appreciated.
I will say that Linksys Routers are notorious for being subpar. My suggestions would be to disconnect the router and cable modem and turn off the computer (and everything).
Then, wait fifteen minutes.
Then, turn on the cable modem. Let it go through all its blinky phases, then turn on the router. Wait at least three minutes for ole' cranky to wake up. Now turn on your Mac.
This is what you have to do when a router forms a bad DHCP client lease.
An alternate first step would be to manually enter your own IP address that's the same everything except make up a 200 range number and throw it in for Z on the equation before .*..Z.
E.G.: if your DHCP address is 192.168.3.43, make up your own ending and manually enter it. 192.168.43.200. Set the router as x.x.x.1 (e.g. 192.168.43.1) and SubNet as 255.255.255.0

Failing to load webpages when connected at work (works fine else were)
I have a PowerBook G4 that I moved between work and other locations. I have never had any issues before, but now I am getting a very strange issue in Safari (1.3.2). If I enter the domain name of the site (say www.apple.com) it fails to ever connect, but if I put in just an IP address it is fine. This caused me to think "Hurm...DNS lookups are failing for some reason". But this seems to not be the case. I can open up terminal type "telnet www.apple.com 80" and then "GET index.html" and it works just fine. So DNS looks ups are atleast working Terminal. Also, this only occurs when I am at work. We have no other machines on the network that experience this problem. All other machines there are just fine.
Any ideas?

Ipod nano 3rd gen, when connected to computer works fine, but when disconnected it just dies.
today, i first thought that i had left my ipod on all night and my battery had just gone in the ipod, so plugged it in to my laptop to charge, but after a few hours, i ejected the ipod, no problems, but as soon as i unpluged it, it died. tryed plugging it in again but the same thing, plugged in it works fine but once its disconected it dies! im really worried about the music on it that i dont have in my itunes.
is there anyway to fix this, and also how do i back up my ipod, NOT my itunes?!whoa, ok i tryed just there to restore it (menu, middle button) while it was plugged in, but now the little apple logo keeps comming up for about 5 seconds, turns off, and repeats... WHATS GOING ON?!?! have i wiped my ipod?!?!?!

Firefox cannot load websites when connect/disconnect from any VPN connection
I am consistently uses OpenVPN and RamsesVPN connectivity. But whenever i switch between the VPN connectivity or connect into any VPN or disconnects existing VPN connectivity. My Firefox Browser is unable to load new webpages/Refresh existing open TABS.
In order to restore, i have to restart my Browser each time, whereas i am not facing this problem with Chrome.
I am running with Windows 7 Enterprise edition, and latest Firefox version.

Other suggestions I have seen are to add bookmarks while logged into either vpn. (For example, bookmark the frequent sites you use in either vpn in separate folders)
In Firebug, when you connect or refresh the page when moving from one VPN to the other, do you see a termination in the connection to the first vpn? -
iphone 4S - Windows Vista - 64 Bit (and photoshop elements 9.0) is not recognizing my iphone as a camera - therefore I cannot download pictures from my iphone. iTunes works fine with the iPhone, but I do not see it in "My Computer" when connected via USB. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

I cannot play music when connect to stereo via 30-pin connector. Help?
Since I first upgraded my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to iOS 4.x, I cannot play music when connect to external speakers via the 30-pin connector. I've tried several different speaker systems, but none work. My iPod freezes after making my song selection and doesn't do anything until after rebooting. Even then, it just goes through the same cycle if I select another song. My iPod is 100% functional until I try to plug it in to an external speaker system.
Keep in mind that it worked up until iOS 3.1.3.Sounds like iOS 4 broke the compatibility with your accessory, something that sometimes happens with major OS changes. Your only hope is to see if the accessory manufacturer has an update to make it compatible with iOS 4, or downgrade your Touch back to 3.1.3.

Linc Davis, I am curious where you were able to get the Safari 7.0.3 installer package from?? I thought that the only way you could reinstall Safari 6 and later was by reinstalling the OS? Also, right-clicking on the Safari app and choosing show package contents did not show the installer.pkg. Just would like to know for future reference since reinstalling OS X for a minor issue such as this is obviously overkill =P -
I have iPhone 4. After I upgraded to ios5 I have a problem with Wi-Fi connection with "WPA enterprize" protection. I can define the connection and everything works fine. But after I lose signal or shutoff the WiFi, I cannot re-connect, and need re-define the net. It is only in WPA enterprize.

Why is the new Safari (7) not letting sound be heard from Soundcloud widgets (players) on my website when the earlier Safari worked fine, and other browsers also work fine?
Might be an incompatible extension or plugin ...
Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

My imac G5 isight September 2006 hard drive takes several attempts to mount. When it does it works fine. Is there anything I can do to repair or do I just abandon it and sell it for parts?
It's an Intel iMac the last G5s were built in 2005.

1. Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Startup Disk and check to besure the that OS X 10.6 on the Macintosh HD is set as the Startup Disk.
2. Start up from you Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD, navagate to Utilities > Disk Utility and Repair the Macintosh HD.
